I would like to use a portal to open external files. I have a portal that contains related records from another table. Each record has a related video file associated with it. In a field within that table I have a file path that leads to the external file. To back up a bit, I am hosting this database on FM Server Advanced. I want the user to click on a portal row and open the associated video file in a separate window. I can do this locally by using the Send Event to open the file and this works. However, external users cannot open the videos. Is there a way to accomplish this using another function or event? Any feedback would be helpful.
