Why  - when using a drop down list and selecting a value in the list - does the cursor automatically go to the next field?

Go to next object - nothing is selected for the field.

This topic has been moved from "FileMaker Pro 12" to "Layouts".

The general topic areas are reserved for the discussion of the new tools, functions, and features that were introduced with that version of FileMaker, not for asking how-to questions.

The action you described is normal.

Once you have selected the item in the list, what are you wanting the cursor to do?

I want it to not be in any field.

Is to add a commit script - my only option?

The reason I don't want it to jump to another field - on the iOS - this causes the keyboard to jump up automatically - I don't want the keyboard jumping up automatically or any other input interface.

A file to be used on the IOS devices should be designed for them. There are some white papers on best practices and example files available, just do a search for "white papers on how to design for FileMaker GO" or a variation thereof.

BTW, wouldn't "Drop down list in FileMaker Go" been a better name for topic?

I will move this to FileMaker Go Topic in a while.
