If you are using filemaker server and your lic for pro is for lets say 45 users. it will work for up to 45 users.  you can not have 46. I always buy pro  and 1 advanced for me.

This is not correct.  Volume License purchases are for the purpose of using a single installation code and for receiving discounts of varying percentages from the retail price of a single license.

 

The number of users who may simultaneously connect to a hosted file is a function of the host.  For FileMAker Server and FIelMAker Server Advanced, that number is set in the Admin Console.

 

Please read the license itself for the rules about installations.
