How to create a portal column

Aloha

I am trying to create a columned portal table.  My layout will contain several portals.  Each portal will show several fields with the final field being a subtotal.  A vertical presentation will be much easier on the eyes and the flow of my layout.  Thank you in advance for your time and attention.
