Script step to enter edit mode

Featured Replies

My Instant Web Publishing user manual states that it is possible to create a script step that hides and locks the status area. I tried the "Show/Hide Status area" script step but this doesn't seem to do anything on the web page.

The manual also states, " If you lock the status area... you must create buttons so users can create new records, enter edit mode to modify data, delete records, change layouts, and so on."

Is there a script step to "enter edit mode"?

That's odd. Show/Hide Status area works for me. I also locked it. Because if I didn't, and I manually dragged the bar to show it, all heck broke loose (Safari).

I think the Open Record step is akin to "edit mode." Haven't tried it though. It normally just enters edit mode when you click on an editable field.
