IWP Creating Odd Characters

I'm just getting started with IWP for the first time and I have just run into a snag that is pretty odd.

It seems that if I edit a text field on an existing record while using the IE6 browser, it inserts one or possibly more odd characters at the end of every paragraph. By odd I mean a character that looks like a rectangle standing vertically. It is possibly surrounded by other invisible characters because it takes 4 or 5 backspaces to remove all of the odd stuff.

I should note that it looks fine when viewed from the browser but when I go in via regular FM Pro client these odd characters are there.

I'm running IE6, FMd 7.0v3, FM Server Advanced version :D, how do I tell for sure? All on a Windows OS, no Macs.

Any ideas?

Here's a possibility: make sure Windows, IE, and Filemaker are all set to the same language and the same keyboard layout.
