IWP 7 change password on next login

Featured Replies

FMP 7 IWP. When I select 'User must change password on next login" in the Account, web access is completly denied - I get the message "Password has expired"

I can do this process manually in the database with fields and the Change Password script step, and set flags to enforce the first entry change password requirement. Still I must deselect the Account first entry option.

But I can't see anywhere where it says the Account setting of changing password on first entry is not IWP compatable - even the Add Account script step does not warn of this.

Anyone have any info on this?

Also anyone know how to Add or edit an Account via script, and set the the Authentication option to External? Doesn't appear to be any script option that sets this. Defaults to 'FileMaker'

From FM's Instant Web Publishing Guide:

Web users generally cannot modify their account password from a web browser. It is possible, however, to build this functionality into your database with the Change Password script step (to

enable web users to change their password).

This ties into IWP not displaying dialog boxes, which changing the password on login requires.
