send mail using fmp iwp

Featured Replies

hi there!

i'm customizing the clienttracker template for use in our company and am trying to find out how/whether it is possible to send mails directly out of the fmp database using fmp iwp (with no fmp-software installed on my pc).

In a word: No.

Others have come up with:

1) Setting up an FMP Client that loads the database and runs a looping script to "sweep" emails from a queue, or

2) Using the OpenURL command with a "mailto" URL entered. This technique has substantial problems.

If it helps, here is the solution we provide our customers. It requires them to have PHP installed on their computer.
