soulrider Posted November 6, 2000 Posted November 6, 2000 i`m running a database on mac OS 8.1 ASIP 6.0 and FP 4.1. If i login on the server via TCP/IP and want to open the database filemakter tells me that the database is in sungel user mode or used. The funny thing is: sometimes i can open the database and sometimes i can
Vaughan Posted November 6, 2000 Posted November 6, 2000 Generally it isn't recommended to run a FMP and AppleShare service on the same machine. I've been told the web access feature of ASIP conflicts with Web Companion. Try quitting the AppleShare and see what happens.

Vaughan Posted November 7, 2000 Posted November 7, 2000 It sounds like the Mac FMP client's networking is set to AppleTalk. Change it to TCP/IP asap! Edit menu, Preferences, Application. Restart FMP for the change to take effect.
