elvis_impersonating_penguin Posted November 16, 2000 Posted November 16, 2000 i am running my filemaker database server on a windows NT machine, is there a way to set up a cgi-bin on the server so that i can run cgi scripts?
elvis_impersonating_penguin Posted November 17, 2000 Author Posted November 17, 2000 is this even possible or am i asking to much of filemaker. because right now we have part of our intranet running a a microsoft frontpage server, and part of it (the part with filemaker databases) running on a filemaker server, which makes it a little complicated, i would like to move everything on to the filemaker server, because i should be able to host all of the pages that our now on the frontpage server on teh filemaker server, they are just normal web pages. however i order to move everything to the filemaker server i have to be able to have a cgi bin on the file maker server, because we are going to be putting some cgi on our page. please let me know if this can be done.. thanks a million bman
Anatoli Posted November 20, 2000 Posted November 20, 2000 You will suffer big performance hit. FM web server is best for accessing data from FM. The IIS is 10-1000 times faster, than webserver in WebCompanion technology. I am running both on one machine, where are the problems with that?
