database not open message

I have a database that I have on the web using web companion. I recently updated it and renamed it. When I go to check it on the web (using IE 5.0), it tells me that the database is not open. But it is! I've never had this problem before and my other databases open fine. I have three. I'm using FM 4.0v.1 I've checked the configurations. Please help!

Did you remember to select "Sharing..." and select "Web Sharing"? I just recently did much the same as you and this solved my oversight.

I had made a record of the file in Web Security, etc, but forgot that Sharing step.

Hope it is that easy for you too.

Peace

Thank you for that idea. I did have web sharing checked. I discovered the problem... I had one too many spaces between the words in one of my file names, so the file in the web secuirty database did not exactly match the name of the actual file. It is not something that one would notice just by looking. Eventually I copied and pasted the file name into the web security database and my problem was solved!

I recommend not using spaces in any database or field names I've had the same problem and it can take ages to find the route of the problem also use a system for using capital letters in your names
