I am hosting FMP databases to multiple users who use FMP5 vi TCP/IP, but I need one user to access using web companion. Access via the web has been set up with web companion and appears to work nicely. HOWEVER, the hosted database is mimicking the search results and other actions of the remote system.

Am I insane? I can't figure out why it's doing this.

That is normal. WC is an "invisible" operator of FM.

But what if I had two users of the database accessing via web companion, or what if I want to access the database myself on the hosted version? Would this conflict with the "invisible" user?

You must leave the machine alone, that is all.

In case 2 people are accessing that from web, that is normal. After the transaction (0.01 - 0.1 sec) second user is THE BOSS and everything is OK.

Thanks. I guess that means I just have to coordinate my activity with the other user.

I set up the web companion to enable access for one individual who can only get dialup (no DSL, cable-modem)access to connect to me. Do you know of an alternative means to enable access?

Thanks very much for the advice.

Nope...
