Newbies Octet Posted November 29, 2001 Newbies Posted November 29, 2001 I have a database that has three felds that get their values from related database. This works fine, normally, but on the web the fields show up blank (they are set to lookup). I have both files open, and I haven't been able to really find anything on this issue. Can someone possibly help me? Also the URL is showing up like this: http://<localhost>/FMRes/FMPro?-DB=Workshop&-Lay=Layout%20%231&-Token=25&-Max=1&-Format=ZNewCSS.htm&-Error=ZErr.htm&-Findall I am using Mac OS 9.1, FMP 5.0, Internet Explorer 5. My style sets for the two files are Entry only (For the one looking up values) and Lavender (for the one containing values to be looked up.) I would really appreciate any help. Thank you
Vaughan Posted November 29, 2001 Posted November 29, 2001 Are the necessary fields displayed on the layout? I'd also rename the layout and remove spaces and weird characters -- I name it "web" others name it "cgi."
Newbies Octet Posted December 5, 2001 Author Newbies Posted December 5, 2001 I renamed my layout and fields to get rid of spaces. It still isn't working. All of the fields are displayed but those that are not supposed to allow entry still do via the web.
Vaughan Posted December 5, 2001 Posted December 5, 2001 Are the related fields also on the layout specified by the -lay tag?
Garry Claridge Posted December 6, 2001 Posted December 6, 2001 I noticed that your URL is using -max=1 The first record of your database maybe blank, hence no data is being displayed. Just a wild guess. Garry
Newbies Joe Lichty Posted April 10, 2003 Newbies Posted April 10, 2003 I'm having this same issue. I have 2 files, contacts and main. The contacts file holds my client info, the main file holds lookups for client info and service performed fields. the lookups work fine inside FMP, but not via the web. I've checked for empty records and fields and corrected them when I found them. I'm using FMP 6.0v4 on OS X 10.2.4. My URL is: http://192.168.254.101/FMRes/FMPJS?-db=main.fp5&-layid=2&-format=newcss.htm&-max=1&-token.0=25&-mode=new&-lop=and&-view I see the -layid tag is 2, but I only have 1 layout in the file.... any help would be great! thanks, joe
Unable Posted April 13, 2003 Posted April 13, 2003 Hi joe, I notice you haven't had any responses. I don't have Pro 6, so I guess from your URL some changes have occurred with CDML tags. What is "FMPJS?"? What is "&-layid"? What is "&-mode"? I've never seen such code before and am most curious. Thanks.
Garry Claridge Posted April 13, 2003 Posted April 13, 2003 Re: What is "FMPJS?"? What is "&-layid"? What is "&-mode"? These are tags from Instant Web Publishing (IWP). Garry
Unable Posted April 13, 2003 Posted April 13, 2003 Oh. IWP - I Wish for Pixies (to do something 'cause I have no control). Thanks Garry. Joe, the best help I can offer is to advise you to learn HTML or get an HTML editing app. and learn how to embed CDML - in other words learn CWP and gain control of your design. Good luck.
Newbies Joe Lichty Posted April 25, 2003 Newbies Posted April 25, 2003 Thanks anyway... I have Dreamweaver on Mac OS X, but I'm not sure if it supports CDML. Any ideas for an editor that does? I'd use Claris Home Page but I don't have Classic on this box....
