September 20, 200718 yr I am trying to use IWP without success. I had Linksys set up my port forwarding and it works fine at home. No access elsewhere. I am pulling what little hair I have out! Any ideas? Bob
September 21, 200718 yr Read through this: http://fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/189085/post/262493/hl/port+forwarding+iwp/fromsearch/1/#262493 and then this: http://fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/189173/post/262623/hl/port+forwarding+iwp/fromsearch/1/#262623 Should help. My first idea would probably be that you're trying to access via your local IP, second would be that the ports haven't been forwarded properly but you haven't really given any info on how knowledgable you are with Networking. September 22, 200718 yr We put together a little graphic to help you make sure the ports are forwarded correctly I would have to guess that you are accessing the server using the incorrect ip like Genx said. Try going to www.whatismyip.com when you are at home and then accessing the ip the website shows you.
November 30, 200718 yr Newbies I too am trying to configure my router so users outside the "intranet" can connect. I have static IP and configured port 591 in Belkin router (points to 192.168.2.3) . when I type mystaticip:591 in web browser it won't work. Can anyone coach me through this ? Can this be done without Filepro Server ?
September 9, 200817 yr Author After over a year of constant struggle trying to get port forwarding set up to work with IWP, I finally had success. Paid http://www.filemakerdesign.com for one hour of consulting and was done. Cannot say enough good things about them.
