Geeksharka Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Hi, I know the solution is probably staring me in the face, but for the life of me I can't find it. I have IWP running on a FM9 file, and I can see it no problem on the LAN (with an internal IP). I want people from outside to see it though, and be able to give them my external IP. The IWP setup in FM9 only show me my internal IP address. How do I get it set up so that someone on the net can see my file in IWP? (Usually we run solutions on FMS9, and do the custom web publishing bit with PHP-- but this client wants to use IWP right off of their desktop machine, just running FM9)
IdealData Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 This is not an IWP issue. You must set up your router to map (or port forward) the public IP address to the local IP.
Geeksharka Posted January 11, 2008 Author Posted January 11, 2008 Hi IdealData, Yep, many thanks. I finally sorted it out, and opened up port 591 on my router. Works like a charm. Usually I have a network guy come in and sort that all out, so that's why I was stumped for a bit
