Hi there -

I would appreciate any help on this issue.

I am running a Filemaker Pro 8 Server Advanced and have set up several databases to run online with instant web publishing.

I have no issues logging in to the system, but several of my colleagues have told me that when they follow the link to the IWP site, their browser flashes back and forth between the iwp_auth.html and iwp_home.html pages and does not let them log in.

Others have said that when they enter a username and password, the site simply flashes back to the auth.html page even though the credentials were correct.

The address of my server is http://cfa-fmdb.bu.edu - and you can log in with username Student and password Welcome.

Any idea what would be keeping people from logging in?

Thanks a lot.

Hi. I hope this helps you -- although I know just enough about networking, etc. to waste a lot of time.

I had the same problem some time ago on one older PC. Do those experiencing the problem also notice v-e-r-y slow connections sometimes to other sites, maybe even timing out altogether?

IIRC, what eventually solved it for me was discovering that, somehow, my DNS settings were incorrect on that machine. After setting them according to my ISP, problem solved.

Good luck.

DW

I tried you link and logged in okay. However...

The login credentials were asked for before I got to the list of files. I am presently doing some IWP using FM9 (not server) and I get my list of files first and then login credentials are requested.

Is this an authentication method problem?
