antcuc Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 In IWP I am unable to create/delete or edit any records although I am logged in as Admin with Full Access privileges. I have another database that I created using one of the filemaker templates and that database works fine. My custom database works fine in filemaker, but not in IWP. Can anyone help please?
IdealData Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 A new FM file does not have the fmiwp extended privilege enabled by default. Please check the extended privileges in File > Manage > Accounts & Privileges.
antcuc Posted August 28, 2009 Author Posted August 28, 2009 yeah i already checked the privileges and i even made extra Accounts with all privileges checked and still no bueno. [fmiwp] is enabled. i've linked a copy of the database with records removed. if you have some time and can take a look at it i'd really appreciate it, thank you. Database Copy
IdealData Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Tested, there is nothing wrong with the file or settings and IWP allows all editing functions. FMP9A Safari 3.1.2 OS X 10.4.11
antcuc Posted August 31, 2009 Author Posted August 31, 2009 Alright thank you for taking the time to test it out I sure do appreciate it. At least I can narrow it down to not being a database issue but more likely a FM server issue. I will look further into it. Again, thanks for your time.
antcuc Posted September 4, 2009 Author Posted September 4, 2009 after racking my brain for a week now i think I'VE FIGURED IT OUT!!! my problem was that i could create/edit/delete records in filemaker but when accessing via IWP i could not(the browse area was grayed out). the solution was so simple. all i did was select the database file in Finder, get info, and changed the permissions of "everyone" to Read & Write. i couldn't believe it was that easy but it was.
