Are there plugins available to authticate logins against ldap?

We have published a database using IWP and want to authenticate users against our ldap. Does anyone offer a plugin for this task?

We use FileMaker Server Advanced 11.

Thanks,

Cathe

I don't think that there are.

Even if there were: a plugin can only fire from inside the database which implies that you are already logged in.... a bit of a circular reference. You could give the users a low-level FM account to log in and then do the LDAP authentication but that would be an obvious attack vector.

A much better approach would be to set up LDAP to sync with an AD or OD and use either of those for authentication (which is built into FM)

Oh, and just to keep the lingo straight: LDAP is a protocol (like HTTP is), authentication is done by a Directory Service, many of those "speak" the LDAP language. Both AD and OD understand LDAP which is why they can sync with other Directory Services like OpenLDAP (which is what I think you have in mind?)
