Comm-Unity Networking Systems (CNS)

I have SMTPit Pro installed in my extensions folder and I have a ten user license. I am using Filemaker Pro Advance 13 on a Windows 7 machine. Recently all my plug-ins no longer show in the edit preferences / plug-in tab. Nor do I have access to any of their functions. All scripts using plug-in functions show a <function missing> description. My co-workers running Filemaker still have access. I also have Filemaker Advance 11, 12 13, and 14 installed on my pc. Only Filemaker 11 shows the plug-ins. I am at a loss as to what to do to get my plug-ins working again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm planning an FTP enhancement to a client's small office multi-user environment: 5 Mac users running FileMaker Pro, using peer-to-peer sharing central database hosted by FileMaker Pro (not Server) on a Mac mini Several of the users will use FTPit to download files into central database fields and upload field content into files on the FTP server. Is each user responsible for her own FTP account configuration, or is there a practical way for account details to be stored in the central database? -- Ward

Any word on when this function in CNSImage will be Filemaker 13 compatible? Three clients with a license are ready to upgrade.

I know it is not recommended by CNS, but I am using the SMTPit Pro Mass Mail All-In-One solution and after doing some configuring, it works great for me. What I would like to have added is the mail throttling feature that is in "Mass Mail Throttling" solution. Unfortunately, I can not use this solution because the address and the email control are all in one table. I need the front end Mass Mail and the Addresses to be in separate tables. Does anyone at CNS or anyone the FM community have a solution like the All-In-One solution that includes mail throttling. I have a POP3it 4.1.13 running on FM Server Adv 12.0.4. Every three minutes a server side script runs to check for new emails and downloads them into the POP3it messages table in our database. The problem is that every once in a while the new records will not be visible to connected FileMaker Pro clients until they quit FileMaker Pro and re-open the database. For example. There are 500 records in the messages table. Pop3it runs via script and adds 1 new record to the database for a total of 501 records. Not sure what's causing this, but we've had a great deal of trouble with using the Pop3It plug-in on the server. (Works just fine on the client side.) One customer complained about performance issues until we disabled the plug-in, and at another install the plug-in appears to have shut down all of the script schedules, even ones not using the plug-in. When we try to edit the FM script schedules we get the message "No scripts available for specified account" (untrue, and we get that message for all host files/accounts/scripts). The server error log gives us a message that we have to restart the script service via the command line (fmsadmin start fmse). We're ho…

Hi There I am using SMTPit Pro to send email from my database (FMP12). My email ends with my company logo (Using SetAttachment) and then any attachments are included thereafter (Using SetAttachment with Append). The problem is all the attachments arrive in a line across the page which does not look good. Is there a way to force each attachment to appear after each other (ie: with a carriage return between them). Thanks Peter

Anyone make use of the plugin? Is it actively maintained? I noticed in the version history the latest update was 2010. I tried installing it and using their demo database but it would just cause FileMaker Pro to freeze up.

Hello, I am trying to get the contents of a container field (a jpeg) into a VarBinary column in SQL Server. I tried using MMQuery, but i do not think the defintiion of the VarBinary column is recognised via the ODBC/ESS Filemaker connection. With SMTPit, is there anyway to send an email through a database and have a copy of that email stored in the sender's IMAP Sent folder?

I have used SMTTit Pro for years and recently have been having a problem sending emails to new clients that I have entered into the database. When sending emails to old clients I have not problem and I get the "email sent succsesfully dialogue box. When I try and send an email to a new client I get: ERROR: Send: Missing or Invalid SMTP Host. I send the same kind of email to all my clients so I don't know what is going on. I've been going through the Demo file and when I get to Menu Builder Example, I try to Edit one of the two (so far) menus and get an FMP CTD. The plugin itself seems to work fine so far, but there's definitely something wrong with plugins Menu Builder dialog box. System: MacBook Pro , Mac OS X 10.6.8 , FMPA 11 v 11.0.3 , CNS Menu configured and registered from FMP Prefs/Plugin/ with my username and key. Thanks for a quick response.

Â I have the SMTPit Pro server edition installed on our FileMaker 11 server, and I also have the SMPTit Pro client version installed on my computer for FileMaker 11 Pro Advanced. i am using Seedcode Complete with CNS audit. One of the scripts to create projects from a pre-selected process template runs for a minute before CNS but when I added CNS audit to the picture the script now runs 30mins. Any advice on how to improve the speed of the script?

HI, We run a filemaker 9 database with SMTPit as the email plugin. The dabatase is shared on the network and we are getting the following error when sending an email from 2 of the computers: The previous script step “Set Field” could not be completed because of an error. Do you wish to continue with this script? I have upgraded the plugin from 4.1.10 to 4.1.13 but the problem still persists. Is anyone able to assist with this? Do you require more information? I am trying to find an example of how I can inlude multiple images as inline images in an email from filemaker. For example, create an email that adds the thumbnail of each found record as an inline image to the email. Anyone have an example? I do not quite get if I need to add the images as attachments as well? I am not sending a web page, but instead an html email with images included. Any help? Thank you!

Hello I am trying to get CNS Barcode to work with Filemaker Go, but have been stumped for a while on the last step. Following their instruction on how to get it to work, I am able to press a scan button, which loads the app, scans, and returns to FM Go, but it refuses to paste in the barcode! I'm using CNS Barcode on my Windows PC and iPad. When i try to generate a QRCode for an event i just recieve garbage. I have been generating QR Codes with QR Code Generator from the ZXing Project ( http://zxing.appspot.com/generator/ ) then scanning them with CNS Barcode to get the syntax. This has worked well for generating QRCodes for vCard and MECARD but VEVENT fails. There appears to be non-pinting characters required to generate an event. I have a batch emailing solution that I built for a client using the SMTPit plug-in from CNS. It works great and for every email it sends out it stores a record in a sub-table as a log. This sub-table now has 65865 records but the total file size has grown to over 46.8GB! When I strip out the logfile data, the total file size is a more manageable 580MB. I don't understand this as the table only contains a few fields with a tiny amount of data in each: [Timestamp, Status(text), Sender name(text), To name (text), Mail ID(number), Contact ID(number), COUNT records(summary)]. Does the CNSAudit_StartupFile function ever report an error? If so, what does the error message look like?

Is it possible to run CNSAudit_Init offline in a clone of a file and then import the resulting audit log records back into the main data file? In this way, I would reduce the impact of the processing on the users of the main data file.

I'm creating a series of scripts to send out different FM documents saved as PDFs. I have a Set_body text containing two lines, but the eMail received contains three. The first line is a remnant of another script. I can't find out where it's coming from or how to remove it since it is not in the variable set. Any ideas?

Does SmtpIt versions 3 or 4 limit the number of e-mails that it will send per hour? I'm having a problem sending more than 120 messages per hour and my server tells me that the problem is not at "their" end. Thanks for any input.

I'm using SMTPit Pro 4.1.12 with FMPA 11v3. Image references in my HTML code exist in header CSS e.g.: #header{ background:url('header.jpg'); height: 168px; } I can set the inline images from container fields, and they do come though with the email as expected. However, they do not display in the webpage that's received (the email client is set to auto-load images). Because I don't control the HTML template, having it rewritten to use old-style anchor tags isn't as easily done and it ought to be. Is there any way to make inline images work with CSS? Thanks.

In iPhoto and other image management databases, you can select a portion of an image to crop using the mouse. From what I can tell after 30 min of playing around with cns_image, the only way to set the parameters for cropping is by manually entering numbers for the top, left, bottom and right coordinates of the crop. Am I right? I like what I see so far, but $65 feels a bit dear, especially if I can't use the mouse to set parameters for crops and resizes, etc.

I have a developer license for MMQuery which has worked just fine for v1.0 and v1.1 of the plugin. Recently, I grabbed v1.2 of the plugin and assumed that it would just work as the previous two versions. My license code will register the plugin when using the registration function - it returns the proper result. However, subsequent calls to the plugin cause the registration dialog to appear, the plugin is not registered, and times out after 30 minutes. Any ideas? I have already submitted two requests for support via the regular CNS channels over the past two days, but have not yet heard back.

I downloaded and am testing the new CNSimage plug-in today and was hoping to use it to resize existing images in container fields in our customer databases. Unfortunately there are a number of images that cause FMPA11 to crash with the CNSimage_Resize command. I've been trying to workaround this by testing the image with the CNSimage_GetInfo command first, without success. All of the images appear to be jpegs. Some of the offending images cannot be displayed by FMP, but some can. Some of the offending images return an error from GetInfo but others do not. Does anybody have a workable solution to this? It's great to see the new CNS Image release, with all-new example databases. When I encountered the "All-in-One Example" (2nd in the list), I thought it would provide all examples in a single file. However, the Introduction leaves me puzzled about how to proceed: "All the examples in this file have been split into separate examples for simplicity." OK, that makes sense. "This file uses more advanced techniques than the other examples and is not recommended for less experienced FileMaker users." In my Data Separation Model, two-file FMP database, somehow the CNSAudit_RecordChange function is creating CNS Audit Log records with incorrect Table IDs. The Table _Name_ and Record IDs are OK, but the Table _ID_ refers to another TO entirely. I've tried deleting the CNS preferences and Rebuilding the data file. I tried setting up a test database to mimic the conditions of the main one, but the Table IDs are OK there. How do I force CNS_Audit to rebuild its internal list of Table ID? Thanks, Larry Goldman

During development, I used Replace Field Contents 6x on 3000 records in my CNS_Audited database. Now, Audit is working diligently through its cache, taking a very long time to do so. When I cancel the "Processing Audit Cache" operation (at shutdown), it merely resumes on startup. How do I _clear_ the CNS_Audit cache to abort the processing? I figure I could delete it while FMP is closed. Where is it stored in the Mac OS X 10.6 file system? Thanks, Larry Goldman

We migrated our FileMaker 10 server data to a new server running FileMaker Server 11. The server runs a script for one of the databases that uses POP3it Pro to check for new emails on a server and download them into our database. It worked fine under the FM 10 server, when we move the databases and setup the FM 11 server we've discovered an odd glitch. POP3 it Pro will download emails properly except for emails coming from one specific mailserver. This mailserver (Let's call it MainServer) happens to be a separate mailserver that we run. We upgraded my client's server from FMS 10 to 11v2, on a Windows Server 2003 box. We'd previously had SMTPit Pro SE 4.1.10 running fine on FMS 10. After upgrading to FMS 11 and SMTPit Pro SE 4.1.12, I registered it with no problem, but I am unable to send emails. The error is "ERROR: Send: SendOneEmail: The Protocol Thread has Crashed." What does that mean? I even re-installed SMTPit Pro SE 4.1.10, but I am getting the same error now. Thoughts? Thanks, Howard

Is there a way to have any connectivity failure to the FTP server appear on the FM 11 Server Admin Console Log Viewer? It looks as if our nightly script is working, but we do not see the file being uploaded onto the FTP server itself each night, so am not sure why its failing. Thanks.

I'm using the SMTPit Send script (which I've adapted for my own database) and it now sends two messages every time. We were on FMP Server 5.5 and User 6.0 and it worked just fine, but I've upgraded both the server and user, as well as the plug-ins and updated the script, but it keeps sending two messages for every time I try to send one message. Hi, I am having problems getting FTPit pro to work. I have made a connection once, and uploaded about 2 files, (which took a long time and crashed both times), however now i get a mixture of different errors each time I try and upload or download, mainly: 'ERROR: ChangeRemoteDir: ChangeWorkingDir: FTP Server Error: Can't change directory to /public_html: No such file or directory', I am using exactly the same user name, passwords and paths as I use in Dreamweaver & other ftp software. 1 week of trying to crack it - and no luck. Hi, I need some help with an email send option for a runtime I'm building. I don't need anything fancy, just a script that is as simple as the email function that is built in without having to use an outside program. Is there a way to do this without having to use complicated scripts and pre-made layouts, just basically replace the standard mail function?
