Hi,

I'm trying to figure out CWP, and would really like to look at the example they use in the CDML tool, guest book.fp5.

Does anyone know where I can download it?

It says it should be in the web folder of FileMaker 5, but I'm using 5, and all I have (had) in my web folder was a file called readme.htm.

Thanks,

Jo

Search the CDML forum for a thread CDML Reference Database. It should provide the link to get that item. You can probably find the guestbook from there. You also may find several examples relating to CWP in the Sample Files forum here. These can be very useful.

Most of the examples provided by FMI such as guestbook rely heavily upon JavaScript. While JS is very useful, and for certain things necessary, if you don't know JS the FMI examples can be confusing and can lead you down the wrong path if you try to follow their example without the JS.

I already have the reference tool, and that's what says that the guestbook can be found in the web folder of filemaker 5.

I did the searches, and there are no more hints in the old messages.

And I know basic javascript, I'm not worried about that. I just want to see a file working so I can get a 'big picture' of it in my head.

Are there any other ideas of where I can find it?

Ah, version5. Yes, the guest_book folder came with FMPro 4.x. But FMI made some dramatic (costly) changes with Pro5. I am under the impression that the web examples may come only with Developer and Unlimited editions in Pro5 and beyond.

So check out the Sample Files forum for some web served freebies created by members here. They present some useful examples of cdml/html.

Hi again....

I've searched through the Sample files forum and there doesn't seem to be any examples of CWP.

Does anyone have a simple database with htm files that use it? It doesn't bother me what it is, I just want to see an example of the links that are used, and the layouts and definitions of the htm files.

I'm using Filemaker 5 Unlimited, and have searched my whole hard drive for the guest book, and I've looked everywhere online.

Thanks if anyone can help,

Jo

Find someone who still has their FMP 4.0 CD. It's on that installer CD. If you can't find someone, send me your email address off-line and I will email a copy. You can see a copy in action at fmp.personalexpressions.com/guest_book/.
