Hiding URL

Featured Replies

Before anyone starts I know there are 99 ways to find out the real URL. But in simple terms why give someone that doesn't know that the extra input.

How can you access a web based FM 7 database and not show all the extra ?-db= etc etc at the end of the URL.

Any suggestions? It interesting to note that once its there you can move all over the place in IWP and it doesn't change.

I would like to hide the real URL and simple show our website name in the URL.

Create a web page that opens a window without navigation functions and the status bar that links to your IWP page. If you are using dreamweaver this can be done by using one of the built in behaviours.

If you would like the file I can send it to you..

When you get a minute would you post the file.

Thanks

Save the file to your hard drive and view and modify it in wordpad..

in the source code of the htm file you will need to replace your IP in the area in the file where it "says your_ip_goes_here" its near the bottom.

Let me know if it works for you

DynDNS.org offers a variety of services including custom URLs and dynamic redirection to your website in case you do not have a static I.P. address.

In regards to your question, you can use their "Webhop" service which provides redirection from your web page to your database but cloaks the database URL. grin.gif
