I have been setting up a FM9 Server Advanced...

Seemed to be working fine on the localnet. When I try to connect from an outside address, it will connect fine, but has a message no databases are available. Im pretty sure that all the databases are configured to be accessed via IWP, they all show up in the admin console with a check mark. Anyone seen this before? Im thinking it is something to do with apache settings. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you apply the Instant Web Publishing privileges before uploading to the server?

See:

FileMaker Pro > Instant Web Publishing

File > Define Accounts & Privileges > Extended Privileges

I seem to be having a similar problem to mrhooper. We are running Server 9 advance on Mac OS, and have IWP set up to access parts of the database. When on a computer a work, there have been no problems getting to the database through IWP, but when collegues have gone home and tried to access the database from their home computers, they get a message that the server can not be found.

Are there any settings that I can change on the server that would allow them to access it from home?

Help!

The default port for IWP is port 591, consequently you must have your router allow port 591 to forward to the IWP hosting machine.

Thanks! I'll try that.

I also had someone tell me that filemaker has an automated control list (acl) which would limit this type of access and that I should contact filemaker and ask about releasing the controls on the acl which would allow others have the access they need. Is this something other people have heard of?
