I opened my computer today and went into filemaker and I got a dialog that says I need to change ports for web publishing because there is a conflict.

I haven't used web publishing.

I have it set by default to 80;

I change the number and it closes. Says there is a conflict.

I can't open filemaker at all.

What should be done.

I am on version 9 on a mac

Possibly you have a corrupted preferences file. Delete the following file:

~/Library/Preferences/FileMaker Preferences/FileMaker Pro 9.0 Prefs

It will regenerate automatically next time FMP is started.
