Hi I am having a problem sending smtp mail from web publishing, the script to send e mails claims to be compatible when using web publishing and smtp settings but simply does not send. Ideally I do not want to use mailto with a open URL as the users do not necessarily have a mail client on their computers.

Can anyone help.

John

Send Mail is only compatible in web publishing if you choose to use the SMTP SERVER option - you cannot use the E-MAIL CLIENT option.

The script line will actually say (NOT COMPATIBLE) when using the EMAIL CLIENT.

yes I am using the smtp server option but it does not send any mail. In the full program it sends with no problem.

I have just tested this and all I can report is that it works for me.

OS X Tiger 10.4.11

FMP Adv 10.1

Safari 4.0.2

Are you using a compatible browser?

Do you have the correct privileges for the web client to allow execution of scripts?

I think I have found the issue. Not quite sure of the solution. I am hosting the database online with Neo Code Software. When I download a local version of the database the email works perfectly so it must be something to do with the way they are hosting it. I think I probably need to contact them directly.

Thank you for your help

Their website says they use FM9 Advanced hosting.

The Send Mail (IWP) is only available on FM10
