Problem Accessing Data from another FMP FIle on IWP

Featured Replies

Hi there...

This is my first post - I tried searching for an answer but no luck.

I am trying to access data from an external FMP file (lets call it file # 2) to show on IWP within file # 1. Both files are being served by BB Server.

I created a table instance of file # 2 within file # 1 and it worked great when I was running from the FMP client, but it does not show up on IWP.

I thought the problem might be that file # 2 is not set up for IWP.

Question # 1: Am I on the right track there? If you want to show data from an external file on IWP, does it also need to be set up for IWP?

Anyway, I opened file # 2 to set it up for IWP, selected Sharing->Instant Web Publishing. However, in the Instant Web Publishing dialouge box, there are no files listed in the "Currently open files" box, so I can't seem to go further. I suspect I am missing a step, but I have not been able to figure it out.

Question # 2: Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong so that files are not showing up?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Eric

Not sure what the problem is in question 2, but the answer to question 1 is yes.

Both files are being served by BB Server.

What is that?

Most likely you cannot set the IWP options because you are not the HOST of the file.
