How to script the submit button

I want to lock the users out of the status area when accessing via IWP.

How do I script a 'submit' button - I still need this function?

Make a button that runs a script that contains "Commit record".

Incidentally, if you lock and HIDE the status area then there's a good performance improvement for the user too.
