Newbies BenLee Posted May 9, 2002 Newbies Posted May 9, 2002 Hi- I'm currently using FileMaker Pro 5.5 Unlimited on a G3 Server with OS 9.0.4 and I'm having a problem. We have an on-line registration fom that adds a new record to the database. Before a user even gets to the form, we have an instruction page that is hosted within the FileMaker Web folder but doesn't have any CDML in it. However, users will frequently get an error saying the request could not be processed due to a syntax error when trying to access the page. It has been encountered on numerous browsers and various operating systems and it's not occasional. Once it starts, it happens for everyone until I close FileMaker and reboot the server. Then, it's okay again- for a while at least. I've found a few other threads relate to this but those all indicated the problem was probably related to URL encdoing and funky characters in a field name or something. This doesn't seem to be the case for me as it is happening on a page that just contains html and happens to be in the Web folder. No form fields or values are involved. Plus, once it starts, it happens to everyone until I restart the server. Any help would be MUCH appreciated! Thanks! -Ben
Newbies BenLee Posted May 10, 2002 Author Newbies Posted May 10, 2002 Probably not. We have FileMaker Unlimited 5.5v1. I believe I've read that version 2 is out. Is that a free download? Thanks!

Keith M. Davie Posted May 28, 2002 Posted May 28, 2002 "...we have an instruction page that is hosted within the FileMaker Web folder but doesn't have any CDML in it." Can you provide the code to that page from where ever it originates?
Newbies BenLee Posted May 28, 2002 Author Newbies Posted May 28, 2002 I'm not sure what you mean, but the page is simply a link from the front of our site (also static HTML). It is a static HTML page in the FileMaker Web folder but it is not the result of a form post and it does not have any paramaters passed to it. Actually, the updates for FileMaker and Web Companion seem to have solved the problem. I have not experienced the error or any freezing since installing them. Thanks for the help!
