November 13, 20178 yr I run FM Pro 13 and connect to a remote database. All is well, but it invariably crashes when I try to export. The database is a custom database in FM Server 13. If I were to update my cliente to FM 16, will I be able to access my remote database, or is there another way out of the crashing problem
November 13, 20178 yr With anything, you should run the highest version capable. FileMaker 16 showcases the new OS on their page here: I haven't upgraded yet from 10.12 but I have no doubt it'll work fine.
November 14, 20178 yr FMP 13 is NOT supported on High Sierra. You need at least FMP 15. See https://support.filemaker.com/s/answerview?language=en_US&anum=16547
November 14, 20178 yr Author Thank you @doughemi I can't change the server, but I'm willing to get either FM Pro or FM Pro Advanced 15 I can't find a download or purchase page. Where are they for this now legacy product? What is the advantage of getting the advanced versus the simple version. I'm not going to change the remote server I need to connect to. I have several simple flat databases I developed that have no particular requirements
November 14, 20178 yr Hi Tommy, welcome to the FM Forums, I'm curious why you want version 15? The upgrade path from 13 is nothing, you just open your 13 files by clicking on them. Here is the link for product comparison. http://www.filemaker.com/products/filemaker-pro-advanced/ Here the product download page http://www.filemaker.com/support/downloads/ Lee
November 14, 20178 yr Author FM 16 isn't compatible with server 13 Working to upgrade to 16. Clients have old OS Thank you
November 30, 20178 yr Author Okay, updated server OS to El Capitan and FM Server to FM server 16. I can access the server remotely with FM Pro 15 but when I try to connect with FM Pro 16 I get a note that it is not encrypted. What do I do now? thank you
November 30, 20178 yr With FMS 16, you also need to import the intermediate cert. That was not required before.
