LeStew Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Hi guys~ so I'm trying to learn some basic scripting and it all seems like gibberish to me. Does anyone know of a quick primer lesson that I could take that would teach just the basics. I'm not a programmer by trade but am fairly tech savvy. any help would be GREATLY appreciated! y'all rock! Stewart
bcooney Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 I'd look at http://www.filemaker.com/support/training/fts.html
Fitch Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Surely it's not ALL gibberish? Go to layout... Enter Find mode... The FTS does cover scripts pretty well. Worth the $ IMO, and if you're a Technet member it's half price. Don't forget to check the online help, though, it's really not bad: http://fmhelp.filemaker.com/fmphelp_11/en/html/help_script_cat.34.1.html#947319 How about posting a specific task you're trying to accomplish? Or a "what's wrong with this script" question? Best way to learn is to dive in and experiment.
