Pyorkie Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Hi Anyone have an idea on how to display the Record number in a field? I want the field to display the record number every time I got to the "Next or Previous" (scroll through) record. Thanks in advance for any help. pyorkie
Charity Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I know this one. {{RecordNumber}} and you can see options with Insert and then down towards the bottom.
Lee Smith Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Read about the Get Functions they can be very helpful. The Insert RecordNumber as charity gave you is just one. Get Functions http://fmhelp.filemaker.com/fmphelp_14/en/html/func_ref1.32.63.html Get (Record Number) http://fmhelp.filemaker.com/fmphelp_14/en/html/func_ref1.32.131.html#1068503 and this one that usually accompanies it Get(TotalRecordCount) http://fmhelp.filemaker.com/fmphelp_14/en/html/func_ref1.32.154.html#1126378 Another one you might find useful Get (RecordOpenCount) http://fmhelp.filemaker.com/fmphelp_14/en/html/func_ref1.32.132.html#1068555 There are a lot of things that FileMaker can do, you owe it to yourself, to thoroughly Lee

Why does it have to be in a field (as opposed to being directly on the layout - as suggested by Charity above)?http://www.filemaker.com/help/14/fmp/en/html/create_layout.9.35.html
Lee Smith Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I was more interested in them reading about the Get Functions, NOT the creation of fields, which is why I mentioned Charity post in mine.
