The video shows the issue best, but to summarize:
I am using a portal to create related records, the relationship utilizes a global field. Somehow, the portal showed data from a related record that doesn't seem to exist. If I go to the related table and show all records, there are no records. If I perform a find, a record is found, at which point the toolbar shows a 1/0 Found records.

I've seen this twice now; once in a FileMaker 11 solution, this one in FileMaker 12.

Has anyone else seen this before?

Yes, several.  It can usually be fixed by repairing the index (now available in Recover ... run ONLY index portion and uncheck changing schema).   A few times such a file was not fixable but most times it is.  :^)

What do you use for the "Generate new file" option?

  • Copy file blocks as-is
  • Copy logical structure
  • San blocks and rebuild file

I'm thinking that the first two options would be safe, but I'm hesitant to use a file after running Recovery on it.

Check 'file blocks as is' and uncheck everything else except reindex now

And only using the reindex is safe to reuse a file ... I know ... but it was clarified at Dev Con but ONLY if nothing else is specified to change.
