I can't see what the issue is and have been getting this annoying message for ages.

When I launch FM, I get the message - Can't share files...

When I launch one of the two database I use, I get a message to say another user is sharing files using Filemaker, but this is a standalone desktop.

Any ideas?

It sounds like you have Network Sharing turned off for Filemaker (which is fine), but the file is set to share with other users over the network.  Try this:

Choose File > Sharing.   Under "Network access to file" choose "No users"

Thanks... that's got rid of one message which is the one when I open the database. But, I still get the error when I first fire up Filemaker saying IWP could not be started. I've deleted the pref file in the Web folder.

Hi Kev and  Welcome to FM forms,

I moved your topic from "FileMaker Pro 10" to "Instant Web Publishing [iWP]” because, the general topic for version 10 is reserved for questions regarding the new tools, features, function, etc. that were introduced in that version of FileMaker. And not for asking how to questions.
