Hi Forum,

 

I am working on a script to be triggered when a field is modified so that it can pull data and update fields on a layout. Some data is in another file and i do not know if possible how to access this file and search for the data i need?

 

Any thoughts on how to accomplish this?

Make sure the file is listed as an external data source. Then simply place the table from the file that you need on the relationship graph and relate it. Then you can access the table like any other.

Using a relationship can appear as slow, using a look up in its place may or may not be the way to go.
