  1. I had some images for a web page header pulled in by a CDML inline-action and it worked wonderfully. I used an Include file to make the headers on everypage the same. Now that it has been converted to XSLT it doesn't work, even though the xsl is valid and well-formed. The URL is 209.114.248.9 - you'll see roughly what the header looks like on the index page, but when you click Day-Timer (usr=Admin, pwd=joetrox2), the first search page comes up nicely except for the header images... Any ideas? Help?

But when the user submits the form the error page is presented (with a captured error code of 957). I have looked high and low for what "Conflicting Commands" means. A call to filemaker failed to come up with answers... Any thoughts?? Brian

Hey all. I would like to script an XML import that uses an XSLT on an HTTP server and am wondering if anyone has any metrics on how much traffic i would expect my web server to see? I'm thinking no more than 10 hits a week (at most) on that xslt. The .xslt is about 22 KB; the average .xml file, maybe 50K, and never any more than 100K, i wouldn't think. I don't know what else would be relevant... TIA, Jerry

Warning: this is a newbie post. I have a simple xml document with about 100 records that I want to import/export to/from Filemaker. Each of the 100 nodes has 3 attributes. I now realize that Filemaker can't figure out my document and I'll need an xslt stylesheet to transform my document to "the Filemaker way." My question is how to do this? After the users add a record, the reply page provides a path to open the file (basically), so I need Filemaker in complete control of the process to ensure the file is ready, named per the calcul…

Well, not exactly XML specific, although this is going into an xslt page. I've been asked to build a web form for a user who must do all data entry using a numeric keypad. I would like a way to substitute the behavior of the Enter key with the Tab key - so she can "tab" through the fields using the Enter key on the numeric keypad. I don't think accesskey tags will work here. Of course, this might mean the behavior of the "submit" button will be broken, but I'll deal with that after I find out whether the above request is even possible. Which format do you think is better to use? I personally like the DSO format because the XSLT is much easier to write, i can just match on the element names. With XML result every field is in a tag and the field names are in a header. This means I have to use all kinds of XSL tricks to make sure that my stylesheet works if the order of the fields is different in the export. since word 2003 files are completely XML now, using Word's particular grammar, one can script an FM 6 export and use an XSLT file to create a word document without any other importing or programming. there is an example of this on FileMaker's website. the issue i am having is creating a Word document that has the same number of instances as the number of records exported. has anyone worked with Word 2003 and FMP much? any tips on transforming the exported file into a word document with multiple instances? thanks! chris

All the examples I'm finding online and in my books seem to assume that I want to take xml, process it with an xslt, and create html output. (Even this XML forum is under the 'Publising FM Online' heading). Of course, xml isn't just for creating html output. What I'm having trouble with (beyond some really basic stuff) is taking xml, processing it with an xslt, and creating a new form of xml as my output. To be more specific, I need to export output from FM (using FMPDSORESULT style), and use an xslt to turn it into an xml file that can be read by another program -- MindManager ProX5 from Mindjet in this case. The problem I'm having is that the xml that MindM…

When I try to import data using a HTTP request I get an exception saying "could not open file". I know the problem has to do with passing a username and password inside the HTTP request. Il found a solution : I put "<![CDATA[]]>" at the begin of the text. I know, this is not a right xml syntax, it'is more a bug of the FP6 version, but it works. When exporting as XML using an XSL stylesheet, you are offered the opportunity to locate the XSL by using data in a field (HTTP Request or Field Request). I assumed that, because I was trying to locate a file on my own computer, this would be some sort of URL address that started with "file:///" instead of the usual http://. But this doesn't seem to work. Anybody know what information should look like which steers Filemaker to access a particular XSL file? I thought it would look something like this: file:///HardDrive/Documents/Folder/Stylesheet.xsl/ But that doesn't seem to work. Version: v6.x Platform: Mac OS 9

This is what I have done: I created filemaker database with few fields and 3 records, then I created XSL file and did File->Export records->XML->XMLDSO and applied my XSL to it. I got file that looks like HTML, but with .xml extention, IE complains to it's syntax if I try to open it in IE. Am I suppose to rename it to HTML? And to create an online system that talks to running database, how do I get it to work with XSL? I don't want to keep exporting records. I'm attaching files that I have created. This is good news in that I don't have to be quite as concerned with security as if I was trying to do it within FileMaker. This site will accept an XML post action. I am picturing having the total from the cart entered into a form that the user then adds their credit information to. Would I then write the xml information into the action, or how should the information from the form get transmitted in the form of the post to the site?

I am looking for a style sheet which converts my data as formed (and added to each day) for xml EXPORT to replace "bad characters" then be read by server which has SQL (windows) environment. The "bad characters" are four; the apostrophe, the start quote (NOT using smart quotes), the end quote and the smart quote (both start and end are same). I am told it will take only two lines added to a stylesheet. Interested in finding developer who sells that stylesheet but prefer I test it first to see if it works.
