Need to reinstall DocuBin for a client who has used it continuously since 2012. 1. What is the latest (last) version of DocuBin and its plugins? 2. What is the last version of FileMaker Server that it will run on? 3. What is that last/latest version of the Mac OS that it will run on? Thanks, Gary

I'm calling the script "Docubin - Add Folder ( Path ) " to create nested directories for file storage. I call the script for each directory level, in this case three times for each file. This works great except for one unknown reason, where is gives me 2 errors - 'Parameter missing (*)' and 'The parent directory does not exist'. Sometimes it'll quit out of FileMaker altogether. This is true whether I'm using OSX 10.12.4 or Windows 10. It doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the folder names, like unusual or illegal characters. The directory path that I pass with each script call is as such - /NIH G-ROP 12-009727/ /NIH G-ROP 12-009727/Financial/ …

We've got Docubin Enterprise successfully installed for our office. Everything is working A-OK, except for one MBAir laptop is crashing out of FileMaker after the 2nd file uploaded to Docubin. I've tried several things, even to the point of reinstalling OS X on the laptop and reinstalling all of the base software needed. I'm presuming that it has something to do with Docubin, or something that it's dependent on (Java 6, plugins, etc), because this is the only time this happens. I'm asking for any help or suggestions to get this up and going on this computer. Below is the crash report that was generated last time it did so. Process: FileMak…

I'm wanting to mark a file as deleted, so I'm trying to execute the script Docubin - Mark as Deleted ( Path ) I'm going to feel really silly if this is in the documentation somewhere, but how can I determine what the path parameter that this script needs? The closest that I could find is in the Version table, field named SuperContainer Path but when I pass that into the script, it doesn't appear to do anything. What related table/field am I going to need to use in this situation?

I'm trying to get DocuBin.fmp12 to work with FM15. SuperContainers is up and running and I installed all required plugins including the older version of Scribe 1.451 as per one of the DocuBin error messages. Now I receive a message 'Parameter missing (*)'. What am I missing? Thanks, Jos.

Plugin v1.04, FMPA 14.0.4, OS X 10.11.5 I see that Docubin_Companion_Plugin in the plugin listing, but unchecked. Whenever I attempt to check it, it gives an error of "?" failed to initialize. This doesn't seem to compromise any of the functionality inside of the Docubin solution itself. For what it's worth, the SuperContainer plugin is working A-OK. On a similar note, is there any documentation for all of the functions in the Docubin plugin? I can't seem to find it anywhere?

I'm trying to get DocuBin up and running on my development FMS14 machine. I installed SuperContainer and it is running on the server in demo mode right now. I uploaded the DocuBin files to the server machine. When I open the DocuBin file I get an error that the DocuBin Companion plugin isn't installed. It tries to install but is disabled in the FileMaker Pro Preferences. When It try to enable it in the Prefs I get an error. Installing apps from anywhere is enabled. The Remote Scripter plugin is also not installed and isn't. Any suggestions?

I am facing a problem while uploading a file to DocuBin from the Sample file which is available in the DocuBin downloaded folder. When I am uploading a new file to DocuBin from Sample file, its showing an error message as "Parameter missing (*)" followed by another error message as "Error 958. Parameter missing (*)". Here I have attached the screenshot of those error messages. It will be a great help if anyone of you suggest the way to fix this issue.

I'm trying to open DocuBin and I'm not getting past the LicenseCheck plugin screen. Then the page that's linked to does not exist. Could this be an issue on your end? I remember having a similar issue a few months ago and there was an issue with your plugin server, I think. This is in a Citrix environment running Windows Server 2008 and what I believe is the latest version of DocuBin. Screenshot attached. -Ben

I would like to install the DocuBin Demo & run it through some basic documents. Will show it to Management, if I can get it up & running. We run in a Windows Virtual Server Environment, on FM 12. We have a main Windows Server, for our main FM Files. We have a second Windows Server, for handingly our comms/ftp. My question is this: Is it best to run DocuBin on its own Server (Windows & FM)? I do want to tie the documents to our main FM data. However, DocuBin looks rather hefty. Seems best to keep it away from our main FM Data, even in a Virtual Environment. Wondering what might be standard or what others have found.

Can you tell me what the version number field is? Version::Version Number gives me the number of times the record has been edited, but not the actual version number. More Info I need to check training based on version number. If I have a work instruction file in docubin that has 3 different versions, and I set version 1 as the official version, I need a field that shows "1" as the official version. Thanks, Reid

We are in the process of testing DocuBin access via Citrix XenApp 6. I'm running into a couple of issues and hoped someone might have some experience or insight, or perhaps just some tips on using DocuBin via Citrix. I have DocuBin set up as a published app and am accessing it via Citrix Online Plugin on a Mac running OS X 10.7. Also tested on a Mac running OS X 10.5.8. Issue 1. When exporting a selection from DocuBin, I get the following error "java.lang.NullPointerException [superContainer]" when I try to save the selection to the root level of drive U:/, which is mapped to my local desktop. I do NOT get the error when I save to another folder on my desktop, e.g…

Our company currently uses FileMaker Server 11 Advanced and the DocuBin Enterprise Edition and we have not upgraded to FileMaker Server 12 Advanced because last year when I was considering upgrading to FileMaker 12 it did not work with the Enterprise Edition of DocuBin. Are there still problems with these two products working together? Our entire document management system is contained in DocuBin so when we upgrade, I would like for it to be a smooth transition. Can anyone tell me the status of these two products working together? Thanks, Susie

I stored a PDF in DocuBin. The text from the PDF is stored in the "_c_Text" field in table "Version". For the PDF that I'm using, the resulting text in _c_Text has all sorts of invisible characters which I would like to remove. Btw, the file I'm referring to is the standard Apple "About Stacks.pdf" file. I've uploaded it here, although I don't think this problem is due to this particular PDF file. These characters aren't visible in a text editor, but if you use the arrow key to move across the text characters, you can tell they're there, because the cursor all of a sudden stops moving. In TextWrangler, if you turn on 'Show Invisibles', the characters ar…

I'm trying to reconfigure Web Client and WebDAV access for DocuBin Enterprise Edition on my FileMaker Server 11 machine running Mac OS X 10.6.8 with the OS X-native PHP installation and manually added FileMaker API for PHP, in a single machine server deployment, with HTTP on alternate port 800. DocuBin Enterprise Edition has been activated successfully. Via a web browser, I'm able to get to the page locally at http://127.0.0.1:800/DocuBin/ and via the external IP address. But when I click on the manage files link, I get a page with the error message: Unable to establish Web Services connection to DocuBin. Check the URL http://localhost/websvcmgr_docubin.php?wsd…

I am considering using DocuBin for an A/P document management system, but have a couple questions. Here is the way the workflow would proceed. The client receives an invoice ( this could be multiple pages ) and it would be scanned into a PDF file that would then be imported (drag and dropped) into DocuBin - perhaps to an Open Items folder. The invoice then has to be reviewed and approved for payment and then moved to an archive folder where it will permanently reside for future reference. My question is... are there some multi-page scanners that are better suited for this type of solution than others? I know this is unrelated to your solution, but just th…

I am using External Authentication for users in DocuBin. However, on the server being used for External Authentication, I have several alias's (short names) set up for each user. So, when I add a user to DocuBin all of the alias's show up as users in DocuBin. It wouldn't be a problem really except that all of the alias's for the user have to be added to each folder's permissions to be able to use the folders that are created by that user. I really only want one user account for each person so my questions are : 1) If I delete all of the alias's but one, will DocuBin allow me to access those files and folders that were created by the alias's that were deleted? …

If my User Name has Admin Privileges, shouldn't that allow me to set privileges for users in any folder in DocuBin? I have another user (my boss) which also has Admin privileges and any folder he creates I can't add users to or change privileges on those folders. He thought since we both had Admin privileges that we could both make changes. Shouldn't we both be able to make changes on any folder in DocuBin? Thanks, Susie

Is there a limit to the number of characters a file name can be? I tried to insert the following files and none of them showed up in the directory. However, DocuBin did say it was uploading them. I have been creating templates in DocuBin. I have gone through my documents and decided to change the template for some of them. I can change the template, but if I choose to go back to the original template, the fields in the template are doubled. The same fields are shown twice. If I choose another template for this document after this and then go back to the original one again, the same fields are in there 3 times. Why would this happen? I can not delete the extra fields (or at least I tried and could not figure out how). I logged out and then back in again to see if this would clear up the problem but the extra fields stayed there. Has anyone else experienced …

We have been storing all of our documents in DocuBin. We are creating our requirements documents now and all the technical documents that go along with them. When we make a change in one document, then the change has to be reflected in related documents. Is there a way in Docubin to link documents so that a change made in one document can be reflected in related documents?

I have come across a rather unusual and specific error. When I mount the DocuBin share via "Connect to Server" I can open files in the local applications without a problem. I can make changes to RTF, PDF, and PNG files and save them back to DocuBin without incident. DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX files however have a problem. It seems to be that the MS applications don't like saving over the WebDav. The first error that I get is referencing a path error. Then it comes up with the save dialog which seems to have forgotten the filename that I tried to save it as as it comes up with ".docx.." every time. I've included screenshots of both windows. Thoughts?

I've seemingly been successful at pulling in log in authentication from an external server. However, I don't seem to find a way to translate external groups into file security groups. I.E. On an AD server, if I have a group called Sales, there doesn't seem to be a way to add the Sales group inside DocuBin for file permissions. Am I missing something or is this a planned feature? Thanks

Correct or not... Docubin is simply a beautiful means to store all of one's files into a container and to access it in a simple and easy to understand UI? Docubin is not intentioned to interact with the FMP database solution as a click and insert application. It is simply a more elaborate document library, say, like eDoc Organizer? Do I understand this correctly? Thanks a lot. It is the difference between spending thousands of dollars, or not, on something I am confused about.

I've watched the videos but am curious as to whether Docubin has, out-of-the-box, a feature to track not only which users have checked out a file but which users have opened the file in the OS. I need to track who may have printed a document. I'm trying the demo version and see that a user has the option of checking out a file when opening. I would like to track the fact that the user opened the file even if they opt not to check it out for editing. Would that require extending the out-of-the-box offering and would anyone have any suggestions?

I've created a SuperContainer user name and SimpleAuthPasswordHash, as laid out in the SuperContainer documentation. Hello. Thanks for the opportunity to test DocuBin. Are there any help files or examples showing how we are supposed to integrate DocuBin into our working "draft" solution? We're using a solution based on the Core2 template by Productive Computing. We *think* we would like to show Docubin as a panel in the solution itself, tightly integrated. Is that possible? Got something already written on this question? Thanks in advance for any response. Doug

When I first tried to open DocuBin.fp7, after having read the brief getting started guide, I got to the point of being able to create and admin account and set the base URL for SC. Unfortunately I set it to the default value and not the custom path that I want to use. Anyway, I could not figure out how to change it so I deleted DocuBin.fp7 from my server and uploaded the original again. When I opened DocuBin it complained about out of date plugins and I went round in a loop a couple of times where I when to the page to remove plugins and then got told the plugins were downloaded but could not be enabled. 1. Download, install, and configure SuperContainer . 2. Open DocuBin.fp7 and select either 'Create Account' or 'External Authentication'. If you are using External Authentication create the following groups on your Open/Active Directory Server: docubinadmin, docubinuser. 3. Register DocuBin, or enter a demo license key. 4. Set the SuperContainer Base URL. 5. Insert some folders and start using DocuBin!
