Hi, I have a problem that i cant seem to fix. We have 4 offices in our network and when i try to open the database files from another office... is says that certain databses cant be found.. there is nothing in the local hosts dialog box but if i specify the host and type in the dns name they all appear but users have to browse to the files every time they open one for the first time. How can i get around this problem? Is there some sort of startup script that can specify a host so filemaker knows where to look each time it starts up? (i do not have this problem in our central office as all the files show in the 'local host' and load up fine. I would appreciate any hel…

I am hosting about 45 filemaker databases on a filemaker server version 5. Ever since I set up the new server people are getting disconnected. The error they are getting is as follows: Communication with the host has been interrupted and could not be re-established (-20) Any idea what could be causing this error? I have it set up so that it doesnt disconnect them if they are idle. It is now doing it more often even when people are in the middle of entering a record. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hello, Would FMS 5.0 run on Mac Mini? I already own FMS 5.0 for Mac/Win. We are losing our Windows NT server. Though we have a Linux server, upgrading to FMS 5.5 Linux is expensive and the software is hard to find. I would rather buy a Mac than Windows computer. We don't need a lot of performance (the Mac Mini is much faster than our Windows NT dinosaur).

Hi, In the leading subsummary part, i have a simple calculation field that works fine except in the IWP view. It seems to not display the calculation correctly. is there a way i can setup the layout to do this simple calculation (basically adding page totals) over the web or is that one of the caveats of using IWP? help .....thank you.

Hi All, So, with previous versions of FileMaker, you used to be able to connect FM Server to an outside server (such as Lasso) using a machine running FM Pro with Web Companion. I've noticed that FM Pro 7 conveniently leaves out the Web Companion plug-in. Is there another way to connect without shelling out the extra $1500 for FM Server Advanced?

Hi Forum, This is my first post and I'm writing for a problem on Active Directory operating on Windows 2003 SbS Edition. Whe I try to register FM on Windows the result is [Registration with directory service failed. (Invalid DN Syntax)] The DN specified in configuration is this : The DN is "CN=SeXXo,OU=Computers,OU=MyBusiness, DC=icXXXXXy,DC=local" The DN is correct but registration failed. The machine is in a OU and for find the path I use the utility DSquery from Win2003Tools. What should I do ? Thanks ! :confused:

Since upgrading to Tiger, I am unable to paste a file name into the Save Print dialogue box. I save graphic files from FileMaker as postscript files that are distilled. My script copies the file name and when I click the print button the print dialogue window opens so I can past the file name in the the save window. This process worked fine in Panther, but since upgrading to Tiger, I get a beep sound when I try to paste the name. This happens for both FM 6 and FM 7. Has anyone experience this problem and figured out how to fix it? Thanks in advance - Sam

I am running 2 filemaker files on a filemaker advanced 7.03 server running on a WIN 2003 server. One has 37 tables and holds the majority of all of the data. The second file has 10 tables and is used as a dumping ground for a data exchange between a MySQL database and the main Filemaker database. The main database is also quite large. The largest table has 700,000 records and is still growing at a good rate. At times I have had some serious issues with script running and never stopping or just running far longer than normal. Three weeks ago I did a recovery and then created a compact copy of those recovered files and everything seemed to be a lot better. …

I am a web developer and I am working with a filemaker developer. He has made a filemaker database that uses scripts to edit records. For example: in Filemaker you create a new record, and then you enter some text in into a field and click a button. The button triggers a script that takes an argument from a field and performs some queries, calculations, etc. My problem is this: I have to make this thing work on the web. It's easy enough to run the scripts that he has written, but these scripts are supposed to take an argument and there doesn't seem to be any way to pass an argument from the web. Any suggestions?

Someone had a post like this but it started to go in a strange direction and might have not been what I want. I have about 8 sites on my server. And I just added another that needs a FMP file served. I put it up and I only want that client to see only his DB when he opens the remote access. Is there some way you can set server 7 to allow only a certain IP to show only specific files?

I have a simple AppleScript I would like to run 30 minutes after my backups to copy them to a removeable drive if the drive is mounted. Simple enough in FMS 5.5 but when I create a script in FMS7 that is to run script file, choose my AppleScript that is saved as an application, nothing happens. The AppleScript copies the files fine if I double click on it in Finder and I have checked to make sure fmserver has permissions to read and write. Any clues???

On my Windows XP machine I have installed Fmserver Advanced. When I configure Web Publishing (http://127.0.0.1/fmi/config) I received the error "An unexpected error has occured" after the input of login/passcode screen necessary to connect to the Filemaker Server. I have all the programs reinstalled, but don't have a solution. Please, if anybody help me. Uncle Benny

I've installed first FM Server 7, (with permitted Web publsihing), Apache and Web Publishing Engine. And when I start Filemaker Server Web Publishing Administration Console, it says "Web Publishing Engine is not responsing". But Server, Engine, Admin Console are in the same host (PC), and I talk to them via "localhost". Any ideas? Thanks.

I've installed FM Server 7, Apache and Web Publishing Engine. (I haven't confuigured FM Server 7 yet) When I run Filemaker Server Web Publishing Administration Console, menu "Filemaker Server" is disabled (and submenu in Publishing Engine). When I go to "Administration" menu, I click to Enable Administration Console Access Control ('cause it's disabled). Then when I click "Commit" button, it shows nothing but "An unexpected error has occured". What should I do?

I installed server 5.5 on a Dell 3Ghz processor, w/ 1 GB of RAM, and 7200 RPM drive. Filemaker is extremely slow when we open it. On the original pc we already have it running and it is fine, that pc has half the RAM and a slower processor and the same speed HDD. I also installed all database's (total of 18) into the FMPRO server 5.5 folder. Is that where they are supposed to go? Even accessing the database from the server Filemaker is unbelievably slow. **UPDATE** Currently I am not even starting the server up. I just open FP 6 for the clients and use my pc as the host (I open Filemaker 6 first). So lost, please help. Any suggestions?

I have Filemaker Server 7 hosting filemaker files on Windows Server 2003. My data base consists of one master and 12 related tables. On occasion, one of the related tables is not accessible and I get the following message on the client. "Filemaker has been forcefully disconnected by the host. All attached windows will be closed. [from administrator ""]. After I get this message, the only way I can access this file again is to "Reboot" the server. If I try to open the file with filemaker pro 7, it rebuilds itself as if it was open doing a system power failure. All of the other files in my database remain accesible. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Our move to Server Advanced went smoothly but I remain confused about proper opening of served files. I've read that opening a file directly is very bad. I've been reading everything I can get my hands on and still have these questions. 1) Each Client has an Opener file on their station which calls (External subscript Main file startup) on host. Is this proper opening? 2) We have copy of Client on this host system (Dev7). Can I use same Opener (on host) to use for minimal rare FM use but nothing else? Hi all, I'm setting up FileMaker Pro Server 7 Advanced on a MacOS 10.3.9 system and am attempting to use Instant Web Publishing. I'm having two problems that may be related. I'm hoping that solving one will solve the other! Here are the problems: 1) On the server, in the FileMaker Server Admin application, if I go to Configure > Clients, I have text in the Identifier and Passcode fields, but nothing shows up in the Web Admin Console field, and I know that my server should show up there. Right now I am using FM 6 unlimited and when a client submits an order a script automatically sends an email to me and to the client with SMTPit. Because the SMTPit plugin does not work with FM Server Advanced and IWP is there a away of triggering a script in FM 7 that would send emails? I have FM Server and Server Advanced on one machine (Mac) and FM 7 on another Mac. I would like a trigger that would send mail on FM 7 when a new order is placed. I have heard that Events 4.0 from Waves in Motion can do this, but was wondering if anyone has tried it or has another solution to notification when a new record has been created. Good Day All - We use a Filemaker Server to access various DBs some of which are large and include pictures. We now have a second "Satellite" office which is connected to the main office via VPN tunnel (host to host). Opener files were created that were used by Mac's on the Main Office LAN(where FM Server resides). So far we can't use the Opener Files from the Remote Office LAN. We Specified the FM Servers LAN IP Address to the Hosts and we can now open and access the files we need, but it is very slow for searches and large files. Does anybody have any thoughts on how we might speed up or a better way to access the info from the Remote LAN. Your Help is Much…

Since we installed FM7 Server Advanced, the users screens go blank, lose connection to server, and won't re-establish until the served is re-booted. The Windows server 2003 is capturing a faulting module in FM "FMSPROP.DLL". Have you seen this before and what was the fix? Ivan

Hi, I've battled through upgrading from FMserver 5.5 to FM server 7 Advanced. With a lot of trawling through the great info here, I have it all up and runing well now. It's currently serving databases to the web via the default port 80, however I want to change that to another port to reduce our chances of being hacked. We're using OSX and a G4 with versin 7.03 of Filemaker server advanced. I understand that the address we type in to access the data when outside the office will change from something like: mail.macrorecruitment.com/fmi/iwp to mail.macrorecruitment.com/fmi/iwp:10100 with 10100 being a new port number. I am working on installing FileMaker Server Advanced 7v3 on a Windows 2003 server with IIS 6.0 installed. I have successfully installed the software for FileMaker Server Advanced but when I go to the web to configure the settings and then restart the service I get the error of "An Expected Error has occurred." I have tried stopping the Web Publishing engine and the IIS server without success. I am guessing it is an interaction with the IIS server but I am not sure. Can anyone help?

I set up a FMS 5.5 database and started the service on an XP sp2 "server". When I move to a FMP 5.5 client workstation, I cannot see the service in the Open: Hosts list. When I type in the IP address (static address) of the server, the FMP workstation still cannot find the host/server. The problem occurs every time I attemp (so our problem is not random unlike reports by other posters). When I ping the server from the same workstation, all packets are sent/received fine. We have no remote or web clients but we do have a wireless network. I saw some posts about blocking ICMP messages from reaching the server running FMS. Can anyone confirm if this solves …

Hi, We are using Filemaker Server Advanced 7.0v3 on an XServe running MacOSX 10.4.1 to share databases both using the instant web publisher and Filemaker client access. We have specified an additional folder for FM Server to pickup databases to share. This works fine until the server needs to be re-started. After a restart there are no databases available (web or client) UNTIL FileMaker server is stopped and then started. This behaviour is reproducible. Is this a known problem? Any work-around? Any suggestions would be welcome.

I have two databases running on a Filemaker Pro Server 7 (Advanced) running on Tiger (10.4). On one of the two, I can access Scriptmaker and add user accounts remotely from my client to the server. On the other, I cannot, even though I am logged with an account name that is a superuser (full access). I have copies of both on my machine for development (running Mac 10.3.9). And both seem to be set up the same way on my machine, and I have full access to both on my local machine. What have I done that prevents full access on one (on the Server) and not the other. P.S. I've read some posts here referring to scripts, but none completely address my situation. I converted my FMP6Unlimited files to FMSA7 and have them working in Custom Web Publishing. Now, however, I cannot find any way to run my scripts. On my FMP6 server, I had iDo script scheduler setup to activate my applescripts at specific times. These applescripts told FMP6 what script to run, and when. For example, the server sent me emails twice a day to let me know it was still functioning properly. In addition, the system sent emails with weekly reports on Monday night, including information from the FMP6 files. I thought that by moving up to FMSA7 I would find "built in"…

Tried to open the log file pe_application_log.txt and could not, size is over 32MB. Checked the WPE Admin program and it does not let one purge this file. Tried deleting the file in hopes that it would be recreated when access was needed but this did not work either. any suggestions would be appreciated....... Ray

OK, let's see if you guys can help me on this one... I have FM7 Server running on a dedicated machine. Clients can connect remotely no problem. I WAS able to administer the server from my laptop internally using the admin tool that comes with the Server app. Now, all of a sudden it tells me 'login failed'. Even though i never had a chance to type in a password. Nothing changed that i can think of, it just stopped working remotely. If i go to the server i can administer from there using the same admin tool. Any ideas?

When a database is hosted by FM Server 7, is there any way to schedule maintenance scripts to run? I'm talking about FileMaker scripts within the database. I don't want these scripts to run when the user logs in (too time-consuming), but rather at 3am when no one is in the system. That way they only have to run once per day, not every time someone logs in. Any thoughts??? -Rob

Heres a good one. I look over about 50 Mac's all utilizing an FM7 database for different purposes. One of the machines encounters a problem when dealing with a packing slip database and a material shipped data base. The two are related by a Packing slip number. Each packing slip can contain several items that reside in the material shipped DB. Heres the funny part, one of the work stations encounters a "find" problem with the material shipped DB only. When searching for a packing slip number FM can not find the first two items on the packing slip. Its always two and always the first two items and it will only occur on one packing slip. I am a Mac User, and where I work we are considering moving to filemaker solutions. Right now we only need to use the Instant Web Publishing in the standard PRO. What I am not sure of is whether to host the database on Mac or Windows. I am a long time mac junky, but the place here is mostly windows. I've developed a FMServer 7 DB for a univerity Sports Medicine dept. They are now asking for the ability to update their data off-line (e.g. while on a bus to away games) and sync the data to the Sever DB when they get on-line. I am currently running peer to peer with 5 computers on a poorly designed database (I am not a programmer) - running FMPRO 6.0. Basically, there are 4000 fields in mostly a flat database. The primary use of relational db is to move scans out to keep below the 2 GB limit. Converting to 7.0 seems kind of like getting a vasectomy (a little too permanent for me). What advantages would I gain by installing FMPRO Server 5.5?

I know in FileMaker Server 7, you can Quit FileMaker Server Admin and log out of Mac OS X, and databases hosted by FileMaker Server 7 are still available. What about in FileMaker Server 5.5? Once I use FileMaker Server Config to start my databases, can I quit out of FileMaker Server Config and/or logout of Mac OS X and still have my databases available? What about Mac OS X Fast User Switching (FUS)? Can I 'switch' out and still have FileMaker Server 5.5 or 7 still available?

I've put a PDF article up on the downloads section of my website on how I set up backups with FileMaker Server to create date/time stamped zip files. All with just 3 schedules: - one hourly schedule using FileMaker Server's normal backup - one hourly schedule to archive that FMS backup in a date/time stamped zip file - one hourly schedule to copy that zip file to a network share away from the FMS machine. I have worked with the HELP and Admin Guide for FM 7 Server and cannot get the FM Server to register with my OD running on OSX. Anybody had success at this willing to lend a hand? I have made matching entries in Server config and client 'List by LDAP'-"Specify" dialog dc=%subdomain%,dc=%mydomain%,dc=fmp7 (where %subdomain% & %mydomain% are the actual names), however the server never shows up on the client when selecting List by LDAP--no problem with showing up under Local Hosts.

Okay, I think this may be a foolish question, but I've searched the forms for a little while and can't seem to find an answer to my question. How does one execute a SQL statement on tables in a FM database? I've looked at the script 'Execute SQL' and it seems to be only designed to execute SQL on other databases. Server: Filemaker Server 7 Advanced v3 on OS X 10.3.9 Client: Filemaker Developer 7 v3 on OS X 10.3.8 For whatever reason when I try to open a remote DB the server is listed but the actual DB I created is not though I do see the sample DB. Because I had my db hosted in a non-standard location (which I did point to and was verified) I thought I would copy it to the standard location as well and still it can't be seen. I am looking for advice on setting up filemaker server. We have a windows server 2003 with about 8 machines attached over ethernet. I would like to add a mac mini to be a dedicated machine with filemaker server running and hosting a database to windows machines (mixture of windows software but mostly xp). The windows machines would obviously have filemaker pro client software. There are also several networked printers with static ip address. We have two groups using FM 5: one is a Mac group running FM server; the other is a PC group, and they run their databases off a server share (not running FM server). Both groups have been using FM in this way for several years. Now, the Mac group claims that their performance drops dramatically when the PC group uses its FM databases. When the server is rebooted it cannot start Terminal services. When the database is loaded up it throws up the error 'Filemaker cannot host a file because of a network error. Files morked as Mulit-user will not be available over the network (10048)' I tried stopping and starting the fms service and restarting fileMaker pro but the error keeps coming up. Also, one of the tables cannot be found so I point it to where it is located but the next time the DB is loaded up it cannot find this file again even though I told it where it was last time. Any ideas?:

Is it possible to access FMServ7 hosted files in FM7Pro on a remote connection through the internet? I have FMServ7Adv running a few DB's and can access them through Instant WebPub, but that's slow and a couple of layouts don't work and only 5 records at a time in list view sucks. So I want to try and access the HOST/FMServer through the internet (i.e. remotely or off site) using a domain name or WAN IP address. Anyone have any knowledge if this is at least possible, or been done successfuly? I already opened and forwarded ports 5003, 50003 (the listening port) to the HOST/Server. I believe 5008 has some use as well, but can't remember. Am I in the right dir…

OK, I'm trying to automate off site backups. I've got everything set up except scheduling the task. I know I can use windows task scheduler to run my batch file, but that requires going through my IT department to let me have access to the scheduled tasks on the server. I found the Scheduled tasks portion of FMServer Admin Console, and there's a run script command. Only problem is that I can't find any documentation. The manual (Chapter 5) says to reference the FMServer Help File, well there's nothing in it that I can find. Does this feature actually do anything? Can I simply call a batch file somehow? Anybody?

Hey Gang, A couple of questions if I may.. We have a group of around 14 DB's loading into Filemaker Server of which 2 are around the 20MB mark. (They are all linked). It regularly crashes. Is this because the DB's are too big, v5 doesn't run well on OSX Server or something i'm perhaps missing. Debugging has not been fruitful, sometimes it would appear to be a timeout idle problem other times not.. 2nd.. when I stop the fmserverd I can not restart it. Error states that another instance is running. Even though ps -aux doesn't show it. I'm guessing it's a locked file or a temp file. If thats the case, where the heck is it? TIA, Will

Im starting to make new openers for FM7 and found out that everytime the script opens up for the user logon it always by default puts my Registration name for the username. Is there a way to get rid of that so my users dont always have to erase it to put there username in? Please help. I really would like to have both blank.

I am new to administering FMP. We are experiencing a problem with CWP where we see crashes when users try to update their files using SiteAssistant. When the site is updated, the file becomes unusable and gives an XSL error on the file that was updated. I try restarting the web publishing engine and the filemaker server services, but this does not help. Restarting the server completely has been the only fix available. I really like the speed of CWP over IWP, but we want users to be able to edit their pages without having to restart the entire server. Has anyone seen similar problems with CWP?

Hi, I use FMP Server v7.0 to serve a FM file witch in it, each record contain one photo. The photo is pretty small, 360X203 .jpg and I use the option "Store only a reference to the file". Now it still feel a bit slow when a browser through the records. Could somebody give me advice in order to speed things up with that file. The hardware that serve the file is a dual G5 2GHZ 4 GIG RAM. thx guy

Hi all, I've been searching these forums for some time now and can't seem to find an answer to my question. I need to run a script every night at midnight to export all our data to a CSV file. I have the script working (just a simple export), but I can not work out how to get this to run at midnight. I assumed it was something in the Scheduling in FMS7 but I cant work it out. I currently have Filemaker Server 7 setup on a Windows 2000 Server, about to be migrated to a Windows 2003 Server. It writes everything to the log, including things as trivial as a user connecting to a database. How can I change what sort of events get recorded in the log? I've got a bit of a huge problem here. I wrote a database for taking orders at my work. This morning, the database had a problem. One of the girls couldn't log on. It kept saying someone was already logged on from her computer. I thought someone must have Filemaker running on a different account, but no dice. I rebooted her computer and it didn't help. Still said someone was logged on. So I ran the server admin tool and tried to disconnect her from there. Still didn't work. So I shut down the database, rebooted the computer it was on and started it back up. That solved one problem, she could log on and enter data again. But all the data that we entered ye…

I recently set up a FM7 server that is hosting about 11 databases. When i open the d.bases from a client machine for the first time there is a considerable lag when switching between d.bases and even after the first one opens. After navigating through everything once it seems to be fine. I have redefined the file references on all files but the delay still remains. Anybody have any suggestions? I am running Filemaker server (trial) on a Windows 2003 machine. I copied the databases in the database folder and Filemaker Server see's them and he says they are open. Now when i try to open the DB from Filemaker pro 7 (also trial) on thesame machine it only see's the sample_configuration and not the files i added. I enabled the option to see folder i don't have right's to figuring that may help but the're still invisible.

I am setting up a dedicated filemaker server machine to be attached to a windows 2003 network. Plan is to host 5-7 filemaker pro clients directly attached to the office network. I plan to use a dedicated machine with windows xp pro. Sample setup to have 512 MB Ram, 2 40G harddrive, network card, CD Rom. I plan to setup up static IP on the network and turn off file sharing on the dedicated filemaker machine. Can I run the filemaker server and host the files on hardrive 1 and backup with automatic backups to harddrive 2. Or should I back up differently such as tape drive or cd. comments appreciated. This is new to me, and very troubling!... I am using data from a weight field in a related table to calculate line item costs for an invoicing system. Data in the weight field is disappearing from one day to the next. Two users maintain this data (myself via FM Server and one lady who uses IWP)... Certain weights are disappearing no matter if she enters them or I enter them. Any clues?

I have a server with partition C and D drives. I want to place all my FileMaker files into D drive( data drive), C drive is where the FileMaker Server installed at. When I place the shortcut to the folder in the D drive, I found that files in the D drive could not opened. I serve a small relational database (6 files) from a Power Mac G4 running FMServer7v3 to a small number of Mac OS X 10.3.9 local clients running FMPro7v3, and have never had a problem. That is, until yesterday, when the Server stopped Serving and I went into FMServerAdmin to diagnose. In the Configure tab, under Databases, it lists all my files, but they remain Closed... I choose to Open Databases... and for a nanosecond, the status changes to something else (not enough time to read), then goes to Closed again. Here is our setup: We have 3 G5 towers running 10.3 with 1 gig of ram, and 1 G4 with 10.3 running our FileMaker 5.5 servers. We have about 250 databases spread accross the 4 servers. Our network address scheme is 192.168.0.0 / 255.255.0.0. (aka multiple subnets to broadcast accross) Here is the problem: Users report slowness throughout the day, even when the servers are not doing a backup. I'm hoping someone can tell me if I've got this all wrong. We've have been using FM 5.5 for our internal business databases (eg timesheets, contacts database, invoicing etc - nothing unusual here). The files were set to multiuser across a mixed network. It all worked pretty well. Now we have taken the plunge, updating FM5.5 to 7 and buying Server 7 for improved performance. But it turns out that IWP is not part of the standard server, you have to buy server 7 advanced (I know, read the fineprint!). For a small business of 7 users this is just overkill. I have a three file solution, the first file uses the other two files but FMS hides them, cannot be seen from the open remote. Do I need to have these two hidden files password protected, or just the one file than can be seen? Would make keeping passnames/words simpler as only one file would need to be updated but as medical files need to be absolutely secure.

So I've read all the documentation, and I've hit a brick wall. In all the manuals I have it shows screenshots of the FileMaker Server Admin utility which seem to have things my one doesn't. In the manuals, there are two radio-buttons which supposedly become enabled when external accounts is turned on. One says "Use local accounts and groups" and the other says "Use domain user accounts and groups". I think this second one is what I need to be enabling, however it doesn't even appear on my screen. Did FM take these options out? Or do I need to do something else to make them appear? Is there someone who has done this already on OS X Server? Thanks.

I'm just about to migrate our filemaker system over to our Open Directory server (Mac OS X Server). I'd like to know if it's possible to setup different database permissions for different groups? I want everyone (in the 'staff' group) to access most of the databases, but only a few of those people (who also belong to the 'accounting' group) to be able to access the accounting databases. Also, my databases all have the full-permissions user called 'admin', however my OS X server administrator account is also aliased 'admin'. Is this likely to confuse filemaker? Hi Guys, I've installed FM Server Admin on my server, but i keep receiving this message: "Connection Failure: File Maker server is not running, would you like to run...", if I keep responding yes to the message box, I get in for a while then i get the message "You have been disconnected" Here is my configuration: Mac OSX Server 10.3.5 FileMaker Advanced Server 7.0v3 I am also using File Maker 6 Unlimited on the same machine. I created a database for the school I teach at. The IT Dept are having trouble making it run. When one person logs on, OK, but if another person logs on, an error msg pops up stating that we have exceeded the licence arrangements. It seems that our current setup will allow only one user of the database at any one time. They have checked the settings on FM Server and it seems everything is OK - but it isn't! Any ideas as to solving our problem will be appreciated! Frank

I spoke with a Filemaker Salesperson the other day. They said that running FM7 Adv Server, you can actually go over the 250 user limit, and make it so that my only limitation would be the physical capacity of the hardware. I've seen absolutely no documentation supporting this ascertion. Is it possible to go over 250? If so, how? Also, what is the difference between "sharing FileMaker solutions over the web with up to 100 simultaneous users" and "sharing databases with 2 to 250 simultaneous users" ... which is what is stated on FM's website about FM7 Adv? After pulling most of my hair out, I finally got FileMaker Server 7 Advanced working with Instant Web Publishing. I made a test database and successfully accessed it. Then I added several other databases to the server. Some I can access fine, others I can't access, and others don't even show up. In the FileMaker Server Admin Tool, all the databases have a status of normal. In the Web Publishing Admin Console, only some of the databases show up, but they all have a + under IWP. I have an xServe G5 running OS X 10.3.8 Server. I have FileMaker Server 7v3 installed on this xServe, and I want to make FileMaker Server accessible to my LAN, but not to my WAN. I am running OS X Server's firewall, and have been unable to open TCP port 5003 (FileMaker's port) correctly for LAN traffic. Hi all, I have a client who installed FMS7v1 prior to my arrival on the scene. She installed onto XP Professional SP1. I showed up, tried to use SAT to configure the server, and got "Login Failed". She says she made no configuration changes and definitely didn't configure for External Authentication.
