Since migrating to FM7 Dev I have many questions but at the moment only one is causing me vast amounts of frustration. I have a frustrating situation going on and would appreciate some help. I have FMSA7 setup on a Mac running OS X 10.2.4 with 22 files being hosted. 18 of the 22 I am serving via XSLT and they work well. The remaining 4 files are being accessed via IWP. I keep getting an error message from the IWP files. The file will appear in the browser as if it is ready to be worked in, however, all I can do is read the file. I cannot create new, add, edit, etc. I have created new access accounts, passwords, etc., to no success. Again, all of the XML/XSLT pages work with the files, and work well. I've created my own iwp_home.html page for my website and I'd like to return the results of a find script step to a frame within the home page. Is this possible? At the moment, when I click on the button to perform the find step it returns the results in a new page. I'm sure I can do this, I just can't figure out how.

I am having trouble using the 'Instant' Web Publishing. I am using Filemaker Pro 7.0 on a Macintosh OSX 4.2. I am connected to the Internet via Airport. I have my IP Address and have assigned the port 591. I have been able to view my database on my own computer, and on one other computer at my apartment. No one else outside my apartment has been able to access the database. I'm sure it has something to do with the set up of my computer, however, I have no idea how to solve it. I'm trying to make a submit button that submits the new record and changes to a different layout. The status area is hidden. I can make the button submit the new record with Exit Record/Request, and I can make it swith layouts with Go to Layout(Order Submitted). But when I put them together, it won't work. File maker help says both steps will work in multi-step scripts. Any ideas?

I have an IWP database that has varying levels of access. Most users access is Read-Only, which up to this point has worked out really well. But I have hit a snag since I added a text box with a vertical scroll bar included. The users with read-only access are not able to access the scroll bar once the db is published via IWP. If you click on the text box, the scroll bar should appear if the text extends past the bottom of the box. It works fine until I publish it. For the pages that aren't read-only everything works fine, even vertical scroll bars. Any ideas?

I have never used FileMaker before, but I would like to use it to publish several large data tables on the web. End users would access the tables through Instant Web Publisher. They need to be able to select a source table, limit the rows through a search, and then download the results to their local PC. It looks like IWP can handle everything except the last step. The "Save as Excel" and "Export Records" script commands aren't available in IWP. Is there any way around this in IWP? Is there another solution that doesn't involve a lot of programming. A CSV version of search results would probably be good enough.

Hi, I just recetnly installed the retail version of FM8 (I had been using FM8 trial for a few weeks) and I seem to have run into a problem with IWP. I turn on IWP on a database and I can connect to the FM8 IWP "front page" but when I select my database from the list (there is only 1) it comes back with an error "The maximum number of users allowed to connect to this server has been reached" yet I am the only one trying to connect to it... I also noticed that under the IWP -> advanced options next to the option to change the port# it says "Maximum number of connections: 0" Does anyone know why this is so? is there a setting that has to be changed?

i have several databases created with fmp8 published on instant web. using port 80, dynamic isp hasn't changed(cable service kept on), using mac tiger. i also have wireless router...airport extreme. i can access database home with laptop (also running mac tiger on same wireless network) but can't access with explorer (get the can't find server error). also run virtual pc on laptop and can't access database home with this either. help please

Hopefully this is an easy one. I have been away from Filemaker for too long. In FM6 I am trying to do a simple IWP of a database. It contains 5 vertical repating fields each with 31 repeats. (One for each day of month)the five fields are checklist items for others to check off daily. I want to be able to tab from field 1 repeat1 to field 2 repeat1, field 3 repeat1 etc.... Any help appreciated

IWP newbie question

I'm trying to develop a new solution in FMPro with the intention that it's published on an intranet via IWP. I can't get the script step "new window" to open a new window in IWP (it works fine in FM). I've checked in Internet Explorer & Safari--both with popup blocking off & javascript on. Neither works. The window just refreshes. To make sure some other script or setting wasn't interfering, I even created a brand new database with only a window-opening button, but that didn't work either. I searched the forums for similar posts & didn't find any (new user to this forum). Any ideas? Thanks.

Hey ya'll.... Who might know why, when pushing a record back to a database from an IWP client, carriage returns in text fields show up in the full desktop FM client as having ASCII 13 (carriage return) *and* ASCII 10 (line feed) appended to the end of each line? The full FM client shows ASCII 10 as an open character (usually a square in most font sets). So, the end result is a pretty ugly text field content on records that were touched and updated from any IWP client. Anyone know how to correct this issue or if it is a problem with the IWP interface that I shouldn't bash my head against the wall trying to overcome? Thanks!

When I run something in IWP under FM 6 there is always a HOME and HELP link on top of the page. Is there a way to get rid of that? with a script or CDML?

Hello, I have a pretty simple soultion I am working with and works great with Pro, but does not work with IWP. I have 2 overlapping field for tabs. One for the Tab Graphic, and one for the Tab Text. Both fields are set so they can not be entered in anyway. Below all that there is a button that is in the background. The effect that you get is, you click the Tab that you want, but what you are reallyl clicking is the button underneath it all. Works great in Pro. With IWP it does not work. Any Ideas?

Setup: I have FileMaker Server 7 Advanced (with IWP and CWP enabled) running on xServe/DP 1 GHz G4/Mac OS X Server 10.3.9/ 1 GB RAM. I applied all FileMaker updates. It's non-production at the moment, as I'm still testing EVERYTHING possible. It hosts ~ 42 databases at the moment. My IWP database works perfectly in Safari but there are certain fields that will not work in Internet Explorer. The fields are Popup Menu Fields. Again, they work in Safari but not on Internet Explorer 6.0. Any suggestions?

I'm having a problem with the script step "Lookup" with FileMaker 7. The lookup works correctly if the user is running the database from the host computer. The lookup fails if the user is connected via IWP. Both files are setup for IWP. What changes with lookups when IWP is involved?

I have a database setup for tracking a side business and just got someone to help but I need to give them some kind of access besides sneakernet. I have a web hosting site and was wondering could I put the fp7 file up there and how to allow each of us access. Working on a CD shop with FMP 6 and CDML I want to send the visitor from the welcome page to a list of the 10 newest CDs and open a new order record at the same time. This is not so difficult: I make the new order record while sending the visitor to the page where the CDs are listed using an inline action. My problem is to get the token of the new order record. I need to pass it along when the visitor clicks on a CD. But when he clicks on the CD it's the RecID of the CD and not the RecID of the order record. I have a PDF database that was just published online. The PDF images are not showing up, these PDF's were imported via File/Import Records/Folder - NOT as references. I tried manually inserting a PDF (via right click/insert picture) and the images shows up fine, online. I have another JPG database that was just published online and all the records show up fine, these JPG's were imported via File/Import Records/Folder - NOT as references. Hi Using CDML I want to create a form where clicking on it downloads a file. I know how to do it as a URL but I want to use a form to suppress the path name from being displayed. The path name to the file will be along the lines of: http://127.0.0.1:443/other/archive/[FMP-currenttoken].pdf Alternatively, is there something you can add to a web page that will force the browser (specifically Safari) to download the file rather than open it in a browser window? Any advice gratefully accepted!!

FMP 7 IWP. When I select 'User must change password on next login" in the Account, web access is completly denied - I get the message "Password has expired" I can do this process manually in the database with fields and the Change Password script step, and set flags to enforce the first entry change password requirement. Still I must deselect the Account first entry option. But I can't see anywhere where it says the Account setting of changing password on first entry is not IWP compatable - even the Add Account script step does not warn of this. Hi all. I'm new to the Forum and new to IWP although I've been working with FileMaker for close to 10 years (yikes! that went by fast). I'm currently working on a solution where we want to e-mail people and ask them to fill out a short survey (5 questions). Setting this up was pretty straight forward and I even got the radiio buttons and checkboxes to display. However, what I'd like to do now is include a link in the e-mails we send to people that will take them to a specific record (i.e., their record) rather than have them perform a search or something. Is this possible with IWP?

I thought IWP would make a good way to do a quick online survey, but IWP is just tooo good and gives users so much more than they need... How can one set up IWP to just act like a dumb container and allow guests to add one record and not view others... Guess IWP was not set up for this. Any ideas appreciated

How do I capture the current query that got me to a particular php page? ie. if the url in the header is: http://domain.com/publist.php?name=tree&year=2005 And I want to capture the part of the url past the '?' something like this: $query = parse_url(['query']); in old cdml it was using the FMP-Link command and in perl it is $ENV{'QUERY_STRING'} So what small part am I missing? I've created a simple button in IWP that runs the duplicate record script, however, when this is done on IWP I receive a message "No Record Found" and I have to completely exist the browser to do anything else. I tried making a script with Go to Record, then Duplicate script and the same error occurs. Clicking on the same button on the FMP client works perfect. Any ideas on why this is occuring?

I understand that to display a portal, I use the CDML inline approach of querying the portal table directly. But in my portal, I have fields from tables two or more deep, as we can now do in v7. Is there a way to get these values via some '::' style coding, or do I have to create a calculation field in the table of the portal, as we used to do pre7. If that is the way, it is a bit of a nuisance, as using the Data Separation Model, my main table relationships are in the logic file - I would need to duplicate them in the data file to store values in calculation fields. (I am seriously questioning the value of the Data Separation Model) Michael

Is it possible to enable a web user to browse his/her computer, find, and upload a file (to a global or container field?) while in an IWP page? I.E.- the user fills out a form, uploads a resume and clicks Submit. I know container fields are funny for IWP users. Any suggestions?

This is a no brainer in PHP and MySQL but I'm stumped in FMP. I am testing the FMP8 demo (as a previous FMP5 user) and looking at running a FMP8 DB mainly via the web instant publisher. I have a table that could have 1000's of records so I only want the user to see say 50 records at a time i.e. page 1 of 200 with a 'Next' and 'Previous' page feature. Something tells me this is impossible with FMP and the IWP. I was going to build this web app with PHP and MySQL but I started to lean back to FMP but this seems to be a show stopper.

I'm testing a database with IWP on two laptops. The solution will eventually be hosted by Server Advanced. I'm getting an error when trying to select check boxes. One check box is in a portal and the other is just on a layout (regular text field, no limits on entry in field behavior, check box is defined to enter from a value list and the same value list is selected in field format). With both check boxes I get the message: "Data Entry Error - Your attempt to save changes to the current record failed because of the following: Choose field contents from value list for field .... I have informed all my clients that they need to turn off Block Pop-Up Windows in the browser when accessing the database or hold down the Control key when clicking on a link. This works for almost everyone, but I have a few clients that still are not able to open a link in a new window when they follow the above instructions. I have talked them through it on the phone (they are using Windows XP and Internet Explorer), but all that happens when they click the link is the windows refreshes. It seems Safari 2.0.1 and FM 6 IWP isn´t compatible, at lesat not before reloading each screen. This is really annoying. A big questionmark to me is why this isn´t mentioned in any comment on any FM-forum. I hope there is a sollution everybody else knows about. Happy for any comment...

this is probably quite simple but i have been struggling with scripting this for the past week. i want to allow users (via IWP) to make a selection from a value list and perform a find for all the records that match this selection. The value list only has 5 values. I want to attach the script to a button that performs the find after the user selects the value from a pop-up list. any and all assistance with the specific script steps appreciated! i am just drawing a blank at this point.

Hello! I can not seem to show an available database for Instant Web Publishing. I "believe" I have set my Accounts and Privileges correctly set up. I'm thinking it may be my settings on my computer. I have turned on every type of sharing I could find on my machine and nothing I do seems to work out. Does this have to be so difficult? Any guidance to this problem is much appreciated. :(

With Lasso 8, you can use a "-Distinct" command to call only distinct records in mySQL however, this command is not supported by Filemaker. Basically this Distinct command only returns unique values. I have a database, with a "submitted_Date" Field, there can be numerous records with the same submitted date, I would like to only return that submitted date one time however. Just wondering if anyone knew if this was possible with Lasso 8?

We are using FMPro 7, FM Server Advanced and Mac OS X 10.4 We are publishing image databases to the web using IWP We have set up a download image button using the Get URL script and some PHP. Have discovered that the download will not work if a clients web browser has the "disable pop up windows" option enabled. We know the Get URL script is the cause. I have an FXPhp solution that works well except in one situation. We have 6 centres that produce publications. IL01, IL02, IL03, IL04, IL05, IL06 When I search for publications produced by ILO4 the search finds no records. But, when I remove the sort param (yearofpublication) 'descend', the searching works. And if I change the sort param to 'ascend' it works. When I check the FM databases, although the PHP says no records found (ie search['foundcount']), the filemaker databases show 3000+ records in the found count. Any ideas why in this one little situation it doesn't work?

Is it common to create separate layouts just for web? Some items do not look nice on the web as they do in native FM environment. Mostly the portals, scroll buttons are forced into the area. Also think separate web layouts are a good idea because I will design them with little to no graphics for quick loading. I would like to have a fully functional database on the web, this may mean I need to upgrade my FileMaker to Server or...? I am at the final stages of creating my DB and do not want to redo layouts and have functions not work in web. P.S. In the web world, value list only show the first field. Hi All. I'm having a small problem with showing only part of a text on a lasso-page. I have a database with a field that contains quite a lot of text. I would like to only show the first 40-50 words and then a link to view the hole text on another page. Like most news pages that shows only a part of the news text and then a link to read more. Is there a relatively easy way to replicate the search functionality of the web companion from FileMaker Pro 5/6 in Instant Web Publishing for FileMaker Pro 7? The status area is OK for someone that's used to using FileMaker, but the search layout of the web companion was very simple for our end users to learn and use every day.

Hi, when I try to publish my database form, the resulting webpage screws up my radio button and checkbox formats. In the preview and in FMPro7, the form looks fine. Eg: <radio button> Option 1 <radio button> Option 2 xxxxx <radio button> Option 3 xx However, when I publish this form, it looks like that from the browser: <radio button> Option 1 <radio button> Option 2 xxxxx <radio button> Option 3 xx It appears that IWP ignores the fact that the radio buttons are supposed to be aligned left and vertical? I have a user who accesses a very small section of our database for data entry, and they use Internet Explorer to log in. The user's privileges only allow them access to one layout, but whenever this user logs in they "land" in a layou they don't have access to so it says on the right side. The user can choose their layout from the layout popup menu, and after they do, their layout remains the only option. It seems weird to me that they end up at this layout, where they don't belong. How can I set it up so this user is logged in to their layout in IWP? Database is served from Filemaker Server Advanced.

I haven't seen a resolution of this issue in other posts. Is there no way to display more that 5 records in the list setting? Why would they limit you to just 5 records? Because of this I'm not much better off that I was with Filemaker 5.5.

Is FM7 IWP's handling of check boxes as pathetic as it appears? I have a solution with user-defined values and check boxes. Because the values are user-defined, there is no fixed number. So far so good. When displayed via IWP the check boxes are all over the place. It pretty goes box-value-box-value-box-value, wrapping the stuff as if it were mere text. On small stuff, with just a few choices, I've learned that you can put several iterations of the field on the layout, each with its own value. But obviously this won't work with an unknown number of unknown values. Is this where IWP rubber hits the pavement?

I have been getting up to speed to use IWP on Filemaker pro 7 using macs. The result is a site for our business admin that works well. However, apart from setting the priviliges to log out on idle how can you give a user on the web a log out option.

Hi again, I am in Australia, so all our dates are generally formatted dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss. This is how dates and timestamps appear in my database when using the client version - without any modifications to the format. The file is set to always use current system settings. When I display the same field using fx.php, the date is formatted in the US standard mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss. Is there any way I can show this formatted "correctly"? Cheers, Sean.

I have a very basic calendar file and a related date file. The date file has a Menu layout and a list layout. The Menu layout has a button "Get Date List" that calls a script to go to the Calendar file. From there, you click on a date that calls a script "Display Date List" which will bring you back to the date file and go to a list layout for the date selected. This layout has the "Menu" button on it so the user can start over. When I start from the menu, go to the calendar, and click a date it appears to work. However, from the list if I then click "Menu" and start over using a different date, I return back to the Menu. It does work when running FileMaker. …

I don't know if there is a solution for this issue, but here goes: I just went live with my FM 7 IWP solution. The original was on FM 6 Unlimited published using CDML. Now I have a different URL for my clients to access the the new database. I have sent emails out to the clients to announce the change, but I know some clients will try and access the old database at the old url. Is there away to configure the Web Server so it does not show "Page cannot be displayed" message and have the old url be directed to the new one. Need some help here please. Running server 7 advanced and am unable to display graphics that are stored in the db in container fields on the web. If I access the db thru a fmp7 client it works fine but on the web it does not.. Should I use a reference to the images instead of storing them within the database? I recall reading that I need to store the images in a specific place for display on the web but that location escapes me. Please Help Stu

I've got a schoolwide database in FM6 that I'd like to port over to FM7 to take advantage of the greater capabilites of 7's Instant Web publishing. The database currently prints some reports and labels that have specific spacing requirements - something not really possible when printing straight from the web. Is it possible for a user to generate a PDF on the fly while in IWP and print THAT? I'm assuming I need some sort of plugin (Troi Activator?) to start the process but what else? The school district has the full version of Acrobat but would every user also need some PDF-creation software on their own computers? John

I have a large database and the user will use a search form to search this. The results are then displayed down the page in between [FMP-Record] tags. The trouble I have is when a user searches and gets more than 25 results only the first 25 are displayed. There is no -max attribute configured on the search form. The [FMP-Rangesize] is displayed as 25 on the results page - is this the default? and if so how do you set it? Is there any other way around this so I can display a list of more than 25? Hi friends, I have some proplem with sending email from IWP. I have published my database through IWP. What i have to do is i have select some particular set of records from a table and i have to send those records to an email ID(this is also from a table). All these things has to happen when a click a button control. From IWP how can i implement this fuctionality. IWP does not support Send Mail script. please help me.

The last 2 databases I've posted seem to have permission or scripting problems. I created on a standalone, put it on the FM 7 with Server Advanced--go to a browser that has other databases created the same way using the same opening scripts, and it will not allow users to enter information. I've given guest "full access" in privileges area and still have problems. When opening the file remotely through the FM7 client, it gives me an error message that the file is "not modifiable"--even though I've entered the "administrator" username and password. I am stumped! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I have looked through the whole forum and the IWP help pdf. but I couldnt find an answer to this. When I publish my database with IWP I use a startupscript in order to hide and lock the status area. However I always see this gray line at the left. What can I do to remove this? I use windows xp / MI explorer Kip!

Howdy, I'm new to the forum. I'm trying to set up a bug tracking database, and I want people to be able to send emails along with their bug submissions from the web client (currently IWP, but eventually with Advanced Server). I'd prefer to make it unobtrusive and talk directly with an SMTP server. The only decent plug-in I have found (SMTPit) doesn't support the web clients. Any ideas? Not an advanced user here. Hi I'm new to FMPro7 and have designed a fill in form for my webpage. I have come across two problems. The first problem is that information imputted previously is shown when a new guest logs in. I want the the fill in form to be new and blank. The second problem is that I want to hide the status area and make sure it can't be opened by Guest Users. I have created a script to do this but I am unsure if it is working. the database is at http://db.ican.org.au:591 and is called E-News List. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated. I have the following pop-up menu on my search form Choose group..... [FMP-option: Group, List=Group] This works OK, i.e. displays the list of groups, but because 2 of the entries contain the same words (the values being Nutrition and Bone Health, Nutrition and Health) it returns ALL matches instead of exact matches. So when someone searches for Nutrition and Health the Nutrition and Bone Health entries also appear. How can I force FileMaker to return only exact matches?

I have FMP 7v3. I am opening db file locally. Does anyone know why FMP is causing my MS Outlook to freeze up? Even if FMP software is open with no file open I get the same error. When I end FMP Outlook functionality comes back. Please help! Thanks Steve

I'm currently running one of my databases through the IWP Filemaker 7 offers. It's working great! My problem is I have a "higher up manager" who cant understand why you cant use the 'back' button when manuevering through the interface. I have preset buttons on every layout that guide you through the screens--but he insists that the back button should be usable, otherwise its useless. I've run out of ways to explain it to him. Help. Can anyone provide a simple explanation (using any technical jargon necessary) that will help me explain this to him? If I've missed the boat and you CAN use the back button, please let me know.

I'm just getting started with IWP for the first time and I have just run into a snag that is pretty odd. It seems that if I edit a text field on an existing record while using the IE6 browser, it inserts one or possibly more odd characters at the end of every paragraph. By odd I mean a character that looks like a rectangle standing vertically. It is possibly surrounded by other invisible characters because it takes 4 or 5 backspaces to remove all of the odd stuff. I should note that it looks fine when viewed from the browser but when I go in via regular FM Pro client these odd characters are there. I'm running IE6, FMd 7.0v3, FM Server Advanced version , …

When I use the script for go to URL, via a button on a page served by IWP, it opens a new browser window. Anyone know how to keep that from happening? I want the browswer to go to the new URL in the same window as the one that has the script button in it. Thank you John C. Foster

I have a field with several checkbox choices and in a browser when you choose one, it doesn't stay checked when submitted. when I look at the record in Pro, the choice(s) are checked. If I go back to the browser, it is not. Sometimes if I log completely out and back in, the problem goes away. Then it comes back on another login. I could make them all separate fields with one choice each but that shouldn't have to be the way. also, once I had an orphan checkbox appear with a check in it but not in the choice I chose. I have IE6, Serv. Adv. w/ IIS. Anyone?

IWP doesn't seem to like rotated text. I am trying to publish some simple bar graphs that use rotated fields of |'s to make the bars. The fields themselves seem to be rotated but the contents aren't. I tested this with plain text and the same thing happens. Any ideas? Maybe an alternate way of making simple bar vertical bar charts that don't involve rotated fields. Mark

But what I need, is an explanation as to why I need the last 4 lines in my second (the subscript) ...is it that the java doesn't distinguish the two options from each other: "Allow Creation of Related Records" and some concurrency makes the dupes on-top of the scripted task ...or is it much more simple? Is there a way to suppress the optional search operators window that comes up in IWP when the a search page loads? Also, restating a poorley written question that I posted days ago.. An IWP search results seems to render in a table view that is not from a layout that I can edit, i.e I'd like to add some minimal directions to the results page (like find your name on the list below and click on it, dummy) Pls notice that Im adding these instructions on this page (partially blocked by a operators box that I dont need) since the results page that follows is not editable as far as I can tell.. thanks for any ideas! :D

Hi, I have a small database published through IWP. Some of the layouts have lines and circles in them. When I view db on the web - everything is displayed fine. However if I try to print (or print preview) all the shapes (lines & circles) dissapear. Any ideas? Thank you for the help.

I am a novice in using the web publishing function on FM Server 7. I recently installed the advanced application that supports web publishing on an OS X Server. My test database is active and useable via the FileMaker Network. However, I cannot activate the Web Publishing Engine. When I open the /fmi/iwp URL, I see my database, but when I click on it, I see this error message: "JavaScript Unknown Error Number 802." I am also using the OS X Server as my web server, so I suspect a port conflict, but I don't know how to fix it! Can anyone tell me where to start? John Beck

I was able to manuever in IWP in FMP6U from layout to layout via the URL string, via html. However, I cannot find out how to do it FMP7. I have hidden the status window and want to have a html link to a "search" layout upon accessing the file via IWP. Does anyone know how to do this in FMP7? I use the "startsession" and ""loadframes" URL but cannot find out how to get to the specific layouts, now that I have hidden the status. Thank you John C. Foster

Well I've flipped through 37 pages and no one has mentioned this, so I must be doing something obviously off... Is there any way I can select which layout comes up when a user does a search? I'm trying to have a user find his or her specific record by name, and so my first window is a search. But when I do a search the resulting window is a table view, where I need to add some directions for my young users. But no matter what layout I choose to be the table view,(in the web companion view setup) a search results in a table that includes the correct fields but none of the text that I have created in the layout. thanks!

I'm running an internal siite using PHP-Nuke (a mysql content management system) and would like to access filemaker data to make it appear like its part of the Nuke site. Can I use Nuke's login scheme so users don't have to log in twice? Since I'm using PHP I'm assuming it would work. I can't move all Filemaker data to mySql since users need the Filemaker GUI. cheers, Mark

Hello fellow internauts. Here is yet another question for you over-generous FM specialists. I have a photo db layout where I have created numerous value lists, broken into numerous "boxes" that contain thematic information. (Box 1 has thematic elements around landscapes i.e. mountain, sea etc,; box 2 has thematic elements for style, ie modern old; there are bout 20 of them per entry.) When I add a photo to the db, I just click of the thematic checkboxes created from the value lists. All this makes doing finds easy. (I Once had all the thematic elements in one value set box but FM could not handle so much data, so I split them into numerous value lists). All works ver…

I have an iwp db solution whereby I want the "guest" (data entry only) (set up in accounts and privs) to not be able to edit any records other than the one that opens when they access the url. I have the status area hidden and locked ... I want others (defined in accounts with full access) to hit a button and login and make editing changes. My script for re-login (or enable account) doesn't bring up a request for user id and password, which is what I want. what are the fx.php software requirements ? can I use any of them with the regular FMPRO 7 ? if the advanced server is required, only people who can spend $2500 will be able to use those free intefaces. mysql is 100 times faster, 100 times more reliable, open to any scripting language and FREE. i can't wait for someone to come up with a GUI for mysql and free us from this slavery of FM. sorry, i'm just frustrated with a company that keeps abusing his customers.
