We have FM Pro 19.6.3.302, FM Server 19.5.2 running on a Windows Server 2016 Std VM. The configuration goes through perfectly for the database we are trying to get to deploy. We currently have the "Test" database in a local folder on the Desktop. The "Production" server is the FM Server on the same VM. (Set up this way for testing.) Both databases have the exact same and the exact same login accounts. The login account being used for deployment does have Full Access privileges in other databases. When clicking the deploy button in the 360Deploy datable, an error is displayed rather consistently. I did notice that there is a different database that the …

I have a current standard setup with a development server in one location and a Production in a second. This is a single file Deploy setup. We are about to go live with a QuickBooks. Once in production, I will have to continue development of the QuickBooks setup. This becomes a two file deployment with the Development server and Production server being the same server. Will this work? What does it do to the licensing setup and Cost? We would be continuing to use the current two server setup most of the time with use of the Single server setup. Depending on the day only one of these would be used on any specific day.

In the wiki it states that: Every time that you run a deployment, 360Deploy will put a copy of the previous production database into a timestamped directory in the FileMaker Server documents directory. .......You can find the archive folder at: Mac: /Library/360Works/Applications/MigrationBackups Reading the wiki I thought it meant that the previous production database would be put into: /Library/FileMaker Server/Data/Documents When I look into /Library/360Works/Applications/MigrationBackups as a user I don't have access to the file or folder contents. Could you clarify? Thanks.

Hi, Could you guys clarify migration of user accounts, privilege sets, value lists, custom functions, custom menus, etc? Which come from dev and which from prod? My assumption is that everything but user accounts (and maybe value lists?) come from dev. Hopefully user accounts are maintained from prod. I know this wasn't true in older versions, but i believe it changed when you started using the migration assistant. Could you confirm?

I have a POS solution that needs to be deployed to different stores. I want to create 1 master POS and then deploy to the individual stores. Currently each store's file is names POS1, POS2, POS3.... etc but I now want to create a master POS to make it easier to make the changes at each store. Can I do this? by pointing Development server POS and then the stores Production server file as POS1 ? Then for the next store Development server POS -> Production server POS2

I have been using ScriptMaster for quite a long time. It always been on the client side, I now want to use it on the FileMaker Server through PSoS. For a reason I cannot explain the plugin cannot register and I do not know why. - Testing FMServer : script being executed from FileMaker Pro FileMaker Pro Advance - psos - TestingFMServer : script being called from Testing FMServer. Succesful testing done to ensure at the moment the script is being called it's now in the server. Does anyone have any idea why the plugin registration does not work? With regards1 TestingFMServer.pdf psos - TestingFMServer.pdf

Hi Y'all, My client is very risk-averse. As a result, I have a 3-tier deploy structure: Dev -> Staging -> Prod. It seems that 360Deploy is geared specifically for a 2-tier structure. Or am I missing something? Many thanks! Julien

Hi, Before using 360Deploy on my proper works database I tried it out on a couple of test files. Now I have come to use it on my proper database I can't because it says I can only change files once per month. I honestly don't remembering changing this already. Is this something that can be reset on this one occasion or do I have to wait a whole month before being able to use 360Deploy?

I realize the provided solution to scheduling isn't hugely complex ... but after so many other leaps of convenience afforded by 360Deploy, the current procedure for setting up a scheduled run does feel a bit... chunky. Hope the next release includes a nicer front-end approach to specifying a migration time and push-click-done. Meanwhile, can you clarify the instructions from your wiki: Does this mean I should host the 360Deploy.fmp12 file on my dev server to make that script available to it to run on a schedule? Or are you suggesting I copy the scripts into my solution? - - - - - Also can you provide more guidance on the pros and cons of running 3…

I installed 360Deploy on FileMaker 17 last week and it worked flawlessly after multiple test. I updated to FileMaker 18 last weekend and now I'm getting an error message that says "File for this operation was not found". When I check the server the application is closed. When I open the file on the server again it appears that the changes migrated and everything worked. To add to the oddity, when I ran it the first time on FMS 18 it worked just fine, but every subsequent attempt has failed. Just wondering why I'm getting this error and if there's anything that can be done to resolve it. Thanks for your help.

During migration, the 360Deploy tool is supposed to create a timestampped folder with an archive of the about-to-be replaced production file. Where is this stored? I'm searching my production server (win2012) where I've been running the demo and can't find these archives anywhere. Ability to specify a location for such archives other than default would be a nice update to the tool BTW.

When running a migration, the messages are confusing. At first, it says the migration is complete, but the yellow dot remains yellow, then a follow up message appears, "Migration NOT complete..." along with a delay while (presumably) the migration actually progresses towards completion. Then, finally, green dot and completion. The competing messages are confusing. For a future release can these be edited to be more descriptive of the actual state of the migration process? Bonus coverage would be if the system recorded previous migration start/stop times and gave some educated guesses about time required to complete the process. The time required is quite di…

In some situations, I would like to use the 360Deploy tool to send my dev file to the production server WITHOUT replacing the current production file. This remote 'dev' file on the production server would allow us to test solution performance on the client's server with live data without affecting the production solution. Then, if it were all OK, we'd run the migration normally, the way it works now. The basic license appears to only permit a single database on one pair of servers (dev and prod). Would be great if there were an accommodation to push a 2nd copy of the dev file up to the prod server, - even if it had a 360Works demo file name - for performance testing.…

I was curious to try out the Deploy2 plugin with my own solution which is considerably larger and more complex than the provided demo solution. Since the demo only works with files named 360Deploy demo solution.fmp12, I renamed my solution according to that naming convention. But now I don't get the option to copy/paste scripts into the solution. Is that an intentional roadblock in Demo mode, or am I missing a step that re-enables that setup step?

I had some installation problems so the process went back and forth enough times that I lost track of all the steps I did or didn't take. Now that I have the demo working I'm realizing I may not have entered any information to validate that I have an FMDS subscription required to access the FM Migration Tool. So that leaves me wondering in general: Does use of 360Deploy2 require one to have such a subscription or is your solution completely independent of that tool?

Unless I've overlooked it, a feature I'd really like to see added is some shutdown control for the remote production server. At present, 360Deploy appears to give connected users little to no notice that the DB is going offline when it runs. It would be pretty great if 360Deploy had options like these: (A) Scheduled process to migrate dev-->production will only execute if 0 connected users are logged in at that time; availableh options to delay migration by a user-defined length of time waiting for them to log out on their own (e.g. run this schedule at 2:00am but wait up to one hour until there are zero users logged in. Also don't let anyone else log in in t…

For many clients I use a different container data folder so that the FMS backup schedule only backs up the FileMaker database files, and I use CrashPlan for backing up the container folder. Unfortunately, 360Deploy expects the folder RC_Data_FMS to exist only in the database folder and fails with a 500 error if that path doesn't exist. Is a fix for this on the radar? Some of my solutions have many GBs worth of container data and I'd rather not have FMP back up all of this data every time a backup schedule runs. Dave

Hello Community, Just came across 360 deploy; I am stuck installing it and need help. I have installed 360 deploy on the server and hosted the 360deploy file on the server. I opened my 360deploy file which is hosted on FileMaker server; added my key and company name. Next I clicked 'Dev Server'; entered the admin username, password and hostname. When I clicked 'Next' I got below error. I have checked my server credentials and ensured they are correct. I have checked and restarted my server couple of times. I have also restarted my PC couple of times. Not sure what this error mean. Been stuck on this issue from 2 days. Anyone …

I am using a setup with a Mac server running 10.11 for Production, a Mac Server running 10.12 for development, and my laptop running 10.13 to control using the 360Deploy FM Database. I realize the Migration Tool require 10.12 or greater on the Mac. I am getting errors running the deployment. Is the FM Migration Tool running on the computer with the Deploy 360 Database or one of the servers? The error message is : Error from plugin: Error zipping files :/DM/var/folders/rp/vsn....../T/S10/Mac.zip Checking the Mac.zip and win.zip files are there. Going to try working on a windows box next

I’m considering the solution bundle for a vertical market solution. One major issue looks to be the handling of user accounts. The various deployments all have lots of different internal Filemaker user accounts that are managed from within each solution by the local admins. How can one migrate those user accounts from the production version or is it something that can be recreated after the import? Advice welcomed.

In a solution created on a French Canadian system with a French Canadian Filemaker with a French Canadian server all fields of the clone created by 360Deploy sees their indexing language change to English. Client and server or server and server configuration. In addition, the regional settings for the dates are assigned the US format. 25/12/2017 becomes 12/25/2017 Can we change the behavior of 360Deploy? Thank you

I have been trying to run 360Depoy to release a dev copy of our system to our prod server, and keep receiving this error And the process stops, it seems to move the first backup to the prod server, but get no further. On occasion I get a timeout error while it is closing the databases to kickout users. It does only seem to be my machine this has this issue, another developer has no issues running the process. Any ideas what I can do to get 360Depoly to work? Many thanks -- Orlando

Hi There, I think that the FileMaker Pro client creates the clone ? So the clone settings (localization) of a file is based on the computer that runs FileMaker Pro during deployment ? Is it save to adjust the 360 Deploy import worker script to measure custom import behaviour ? Kind regards, Willem-Jan Kempen

Will 360Deploy handle a Filemaker solutions that has more than 500 base tables (File size: 3.63Gb without graphic) ? I have no problem of deploying the original demo file. Since the documentation 360Deploy Roadmap indicates that "You can also try 360Deploy out with your own solution, just be sure to rename your database file '360Deploy demo solution.", I tried, but failed. Filemaker Pro Advance 16 always hanged at Step 8: Copy Script steps into '360Deploy Import Worker". See attached. Any idea?

I'm very interested in this product but would like to know about how it handles certain scenarios. How does the solution deal with ESS shadow tables? What happens with custom value lists? Do they programmatically update as well if the production copy gets new entries? How does 360Deploy handle field name changes? I noted the documentation seems to imply field deletions are a bit of a problem - you need to remember to delete the fields in both the production and dev copy. Are there any future updates in which this might be handled more gracefully? Or is this just a limitation of what can and can't be handled via this method? We have a pretty …

Hi, when attempting to verify the FileMaker server I’m getting an error message (see attached) about “Demo mode does not work with Docubin”. I do not have Docubin installed on the server. I do have current versions of Zulu, MirrorSync and 360Deploy installed on the server. Please advise how to resolve this issue. Additional information: I’m using the Portfolio license shown in the screenshot for 360Deploy and Zulu2. MirrorSync is installed but not configured on the server. I only installed MirrorSync as a workaround to solve a web forwarding issue with the Zulu install.
