I have a desktop solution that has 14 different databases in it. I need to be able to make updates to the solution/databases without data loss and not good with mysql or other database operations to store the data. I used to have Filemaker Pro, but this is not the case anymore. I've realised that I don't need to use it in the future, as I can do exactly the same in Mac Address Book. hello, In my invoice layout, i have an add line item for my products. The thing is that i want to make another add line item for my services and this is where i have the problem. i actually copied the way the first addline item works, by creating a new table, make the proper relationships, duplicating and change the script ( Sets variable with INVOICE ID, Create new record, set INVOICE ID, and return to original layout) for the addlineitem button but still when i press the button it says "this operation cannot be completed because the target is not part of a related table". , is it a problem that i use the invoice id again in the script?? i think there …

I am having issues with cross-platform container field use. I would like to store only a reference to files in container fields, and we have both Mac and Windows folks connected. I just started to work with FM so sorry if this question is on a too low level. I have a Delivery note table where I specify all products my customer bought. One of the fields is called "amount". I also have a table called Inventory where I have the total number of amount of each product. I.e: A customer buys 10 pieces of candy named sweet123. I want the amount field in this example with number 10 to subtract 10 from the total amount field in the Inventory table. So if I had 100 of sweet123 after this purchase it should say 90 in the total amount field of the Inventory table. Is this totally unclear or can anybody give me a tip ?! Please =)

I have a customer who is a bit worried about my long grey beard and glittering eye and wants some Australian contacts in case I drop dead. (Or if they get fed up with my errors.) Here is what I got and maybe this will help. In example 1 you are on the company page which shows that company and some information that is needed for this company. The bar that runs about in the middle accross that will have links for CONTACTS - JOBS - UNKNOWN for now. If I was on the CONTACT button I should see a list of contacts in the area below that bar. Okay I need help BADLY... I spent 7 hours trying to fingure this out and I cannot. If you have any experience with JobPro Central 6.0 there is something I am trying to create. This is a very good program but way too much for what I need to do. I enter data for a company that sorts parts and right now we are using 14 different excel files to enter data that gets entered 2 to 3 different times over. In JobPro they have a section call contacts. In the contacts tab you can see a list of contact for the customer. Which works PERFECTLY for me because some of our customers has multiple contacts. Does anybody know of a way/extension to create lowres pictures (72-100 dpi) out of highres pictures in filemaker. I have a few customers who download highres pictures from the web with 360 works,and now i have a customes who asks if he can get lowres pictures, for printing from the highres pictures. I have about 12000 pictures. It would be nice if the printing lowres is created automatically, and also deleted when the highres is deleted.

I have started on a job which requires me to transfer an old FM5 application from Mac to PC and then do some modifications. I intend to convert to FM9 or 10 a little later but want to get the application up and running unchanged on the PCs before embarking on any changes. We make a few different boards that use a similar set of parts. The parts must be bought in bulk. Hi everyone - I want to build a FMP cross-platform solution for using a barcode scanner to create an inventory of a library full of books. I've looked at some of the non-Filemaker solutions (Delicious Library, Bookpedia, etc.) and they are pretty much exactly what I need, but I need it to be in Filemaker. So, I'd like to find something that has the basic functionality (read ISBN from barcode scanner, lookup relevant information from the web) but that I can also customize to our own needs. I have been developing a service inspection solution for the small company i work for. I have the project almost done but have a few things that im just not able to wrap my head around.
