After the service thy can use thier tokens to buy items at our store, toys, shirts, school supplies, etc. About the tokens, they receive 5 upon entrance, if they have their kids club tshirt, they get an extra token, however if they need to go to the bathroom, they lose a token or if they are disruptiv…

I am an IT systems guy trying to advise a small, poor, low tech skills, non-profit about what membership/donations database tool they should use. They have copies of both Access and FM Pro (8?) and have made a problematic 1st attempt in Access at adopting another orgs. Access database for use with their 400 members. Although they got their 400 members into the DB and deleted the originals, the approach isn't working for them. The original DB was badly designed and fixing / using it is over their head. I am researching appropriate solutions and off of the top of my head, thinking of looking for an existing non-profit membership/donations template (etc.) front…

Customer goes to 'download page' where s/he can save PDF and options to click 'approved', 'amend' etc, with comments box 4. Hello, if anyone could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it. I am working on a solution for a photographic hire company, we know our competitors use a pc program that is called nx rental desk, it is very slow an convoluted. We only need something very simple, for instance it doesn't have to hold details of the equipment' rental cost or vat as this is done in our accounting software. So having looked at some solutions it appears the fmp9's very own "lending library" is very close, though there is one huge flaw and that is that it doesn't let you prebook and item, you can only check out a piece of equipment using todays date. We only have a small amoun…

I have been searching and searching for an application to manage the training and certifications for our personnel. The only solution I've seen that is almost right is a program called Training Manager 2008 by Kaizen Software Solutions. This program is obviously (to me anyway) written as a database application, tho I don't know which one. The main problem with it is that it is Windows only and we run an all-Mac environment. I use Windows installed on my computer via Parallels, but am not going to buy and install it across the board to all machines for one program, yet it needs to be accessed by more than just me. I'm looking for a solution similar to this one, but t…

Hello all, I'm a college student working on a large FM solution for a client. It's been a while since I worked in FM and I'm a bit rusty. I would like to hire someone who can devote a couple hours a day, 2 to 3 days a week for a few weeks at least, to help me along when I get stuck. Some of it will be simple little no-brainer things while other times I might need help with a complex calculation. Hello I'm starting a new business and I need a database creating to display current standings. I created a database during my college days using filemaker. This was about 5 years ago. I would like the database published via my website and also give access to the database to the venues in my league so they can update their results as and when they get it. As I am unsure of how to code in php and mysql I spoke to a friend who said if I create it via a GUI first he should be able to convert it. I have since read of programs that are able to able to make these transfirmations. Any advice on what I should do is truly welcomed. I've just spent the …

I have a database of customers and their contact/mailing information and order history. I am searching for a way to create a file that will keep track of the qty on hand of specific items I have in stock and then update the count as I sell things. Right now, when I sell an item, the product data that goes into the Description field after I select a model number is derived from a calculated field. I would prefer to keep a clean Products database and keep the initial count managed there. Is there a good starter kit I can use other that the hard-to-customize BPK from Filemaker?

I think I am done playing around with Filemaker. I'd love to have a brain that gravitated to the subject rather than taking each challenge as its own brainteaser I import Real Estate data into my database and Im trying to do a few extra things with it now. I mail out Postcards and Letters to selected prospects in my database. The Postcard part is pretty easy as I only need to print out labels. I'd now like to be able to "mail merge" the letters and print or save as PDF right out of Filemaker. Each person receives a variety of postcards and letters from me that I need to keep track of. I already have a system in place that uses scripts to set up the campaign, se…

Hello everyone, I'm really hoping there is a much easier solution for what I'd like to do...would appreciate any help whatsoever, and I have done little work towards this, so feel free to point me in an entirely different direction. I am looking for a developer to bring a FileMaker 9 legal form-filling database to the web. Clients would do data entry on one page (approx 375 fields). Attorneys would review the clients’ data and add more data (approx 525 fields). Approximately 450 of these fields appear on the main form (10 pages), and 25 fields appear on a second form (1 page). The forms are generated as pdfs for sending as email attachments or for printing and sending through the mail. It currently exists as a very simple one-table database. (It might make more sense for several series of address, employment and travel data to be placed in separate tables so they could easily be sorted by date.) …

Hello, I'm looking for a solution for a soon-to-be self-employed therapist. Initially a standalone database would be needed, but as FM has web capabilities this would be useful to add at some point in the future. Anyway... they need to capture client details (name, address etc), medical conditions / treatment information (type and frequency etc) and payment based on each treatments. An important factor would be to keep a history of treatments / progress etc. somehow listed with each ecord If anyone knows of an existing solution I'd be happy to hear of it and maybe I can with your help customise it, as I have a little knowledge of FM form a decade ago. The…

I'm hoping to find a pre-made solution (FileMaker or otherwise) for a friend who wants to catalog his extensive music collection. Does anyone know of a ready-made way to catalog vinyl that would be simple enough for a relatively novice computer user? Ideally, he'd like to auto-enter as much information as possible and be able to include photos of the actual records and jackets.

I am looking for a solution for a clothing company to help track purchase orders, inventory, sales, and contacts. I have looked at the Business Tracker and it looks like it would do just about everything I need. The only things I see that it is lacking are Purchase Orders - I need to be able to see whats on order and have an ETA on it - and also I'd like to be able to have colors and sizes for each product. I am sure this can be done fairly easily - I honestly just don't have the time to figure it out. Right now, everything is in a series of Excel sheets. It's a little slow and also its been somewhat difficult printing Invoices, Confirmations, Packing Slips, et…

Before I go off and try to make this on my own I wondered if anyone has seen a product that might meet my needs. We have a few hourly employees and they have to submit there time. the Free Time Cards from FileMaker is good but not what we need exactly. Our pay periods end on the 1th and 15th of each month and those days aren't always on a Friday. Our hourly people get overtime based on a 40 hr week. So if the pay period starts on a Wednesday they'll we need to know base OT on time from previous pay period. And a few other issues that I guessing someone else has run into. Is there a good "Time Card" solution out there for FileMaker, my search has not reviled …

I have 3 databases in FM 5 system 9 on my Mac. Since system 9 is no more as Mac is now in system 10, I must upgrade my databases into system 10 which means I must buy a newer version of FM. Are there any other cheaper solutions to upgrade my databases besides buying the new FM? I use it as a address book for my clients and a catalog for my stock photos. For me $300 for an address book and catalog is a bit expensive. I just want these databases updated so I can use them in system 10. I do not care about the other features in FM. Second question, If I must purchase the new version of FM is there any easy & simple way, for my stock photography catalog, that I can f…

I simply want to email the content s of a form letter embedded with some information from the data base. i.e., dear <>, please enter the following activation code <>...etc. i see options for typing in text or getting text from an external file...surely there is a way to just send this as a composed form letter embedded with the correct info...no?

We have a data base that contains different groups. Periodlically we need to send emails to individuals in the groups. We do not need to do a mass email. We need then to go out as one email at a time. I've watched all the training videos and there is nothing on how to set up this script. It can't be that difficult, but I sure could use someone willing to walk me through the steps.
