Hi Everyone! I think I'm one of the many few here on the forum who doesn't use lasso. I would like to learn the program and know more about it, but there isn't too many classes on it. I've been doing a really well using CDML, PHP & JavaScript but I think it's past time for me to check this out. So my 2 questions are: are there any recommendations on classes? and are classes even needed? Thanks a bunch!

I didn't know what forum to place this question in so I chose this one. My question, what functions are new to version 6 of Filemaker Pro. I'm brand new to this site and realize that I may be out of date w/my Filemaker Pro 4.0, but I'm having big problems. I have a laptop w/windows xp, 1.0 Ghz celeron processor, 256 megs of ram, 40 gig HD (those just seems to be the first questions that the technical support people always ask). Hi all I am a member of YMUG (Yorkshire Macintosh Users Group - www.ymug.org) the largest in the UK. We have a SIG (Special Interest Group), currently of only 6 members, who discuss topics/offer support to each other via email and occasionally meet up. Hey All! I was wondering if anyone has ever attended the Windows/Mac Academy FileMaker Boot Camp. It seems to be in my company's budget (as tight as it is). Since the company has bought MacAcademy tools before, we get a $100 rebate (only $499). I consider myself a novice with no formal database theory instruction. I am currently attending the University of Phoenix to get my BSIT, so hopefully one day I will get some general database knowledge. I have made two simple solutions using FM 5.0, so I am able to bump around in it. I would like to know if this boot camp will be useful to me. I have pretty much learned how to build a good database with FileMaker Pro 5.0. Now my boss wants me to bind it into a standalone executable application. Something I've never done before. I have the Developer's Guide that came with the software, but it's not very good. I need some- thing more comprehensive. I've looked and only come across the manual once on a website; and it said the book was not available at this time. Does anyone know where I can find/buy this book, new or used?

I have discovered very useful Extended Script for Adobe GoLive – my favorite HTML authoring program. It is the “Form Element Extractor 1.01” by Ken Martin. It extracts form and displays parameters of the form in very clean way. It makes debugging of FM forms much easier.
