This is my first post; I am a novice filemaker user (although have been reading alot, online tutorials, etc). I am trying to see if I can save $200 (the cost of a dedicated digital asset management program) by creating my own, much simpler solution. Can someone guide me as I create this? Some people get 1 module, some people get 2, 3 or even 4. At any time my boss would like to see a report of all the office space inventory. Does anyone know of a decent FileMaker Accounting database solution that i could incorporate into my personal business database? Obviously, free is first choice, but i wouldn't mind if i had to drop some cash. WHY I NEED IT: I own a small (very small) screen printing business, and have quickbooks pro as my Accounting Software. Uses Batch file so possibly windows only, attached file is fmp7. NO PLUGIN REQUIRED! 1. Filename obtained from embedded file via calc on the container. 2. Push Open button runs a script that- Exports file using a generic name, a batch scipt file is created and then run that changes file to original filename. File is then opened via an open url script. 1 Button, no user input. WARNING- one downside is that it will not open files that have a space in their filename. Hello everybody out there, I tryed the search and also looked up manually. But this Forum is getting bigger and bigger. Is there an easy way to create a theme for my work? I don't want to copy&paste al the times my layout I like. I recogniced that the delivered themes are .xml files. But there is the next problem for me. It takes hours till I know which number stands for which colour. So are there any helper apps which makes it easyier for me to create standard themes? I need to find a resource that will teach me to write scripts. I can have someone here help me write a script, but it's really not doing much good because I don't know what each of those little steps do, so I can't really point the function to the correct field or record. Hi....I'm a new guy. First post. Where do I start? Looking to create or acquire a scheduling solution for plumbing technicians. Needs to be FM 8 compatible. Would like to show a large group of techincians for each day at the same time. Then click to specific technician to fill in more details. Kind of a revolving type calendar, clickable to each day's schedule of technicians and jobs. I had something working on FM 6, but its worthless now after "conversion". I am new to FM and am embarking on writing a FM application, it would be really helpful if I could get some general design tips from more experienced FM developers. I want to design a system which would have approx 21 tables. Am I better spreading the load accross several databases or would FM be happy with them residing in one DB. Also, if I was to create several databases would I be better having all the layouts/scripts in the first initial database or is it wise to spread them out also. The server is ready about to die and I need to move the databases to a newer server, however, I cannot find the installation CD's for the server. We have our licenses and installation keys. I am having to tackle a big project on a tight time schedule - restructuring an invoicing/payment system. It is for myself (small business) and I am not a developer. Hi, I'm new to FM. I have built quite a few databases with Claris/AppleWorks over the years. I want to build a database for tracking Users/Workstations/Software for the architecture firm where I work. Please let me know if anybody has seen a salary history database. The database would track job descriptions and various salaries for positions. Each job description should include multiple rates ranging from low to high quotes. It would classify jobs in several ways like union, non-union, flat, daily, hourly, etc. It should calculate various salaries based on hourly, daily, or flat rate in conjunction with the number of hours worked. In addition, a salary calculator would help as well. Reports should display all high rates for a department or all rates for a job description.
