MirrorSync by 360Works

Discussions about MirrorSync, a FileMaker synchronization tool that links FileMaker Server to FileMaker Go and FileMaker Pro

MirrorSync is the best way to use your FileMaker database on an iPad, iPhone, or laptop without a network connection. Work on your own offline database at the fastest possible speed, and sync your changes with FileMaker Server when you have working network access. Learn more about syncing FileMaker databases with MirrorSync.

  1. Hi All, I'm having an issue during initial sync of my database. When I try to sync, i get the following error: I am at a loss as to why this is happening or how to fix it. I have tried downloading a new DB file, and also tried to reconfigure the actual MirrorSync settings but I am still having the same issue. Can someone please help? Lloyd

I'm trying to upgrade to MirrorSync 2 from 1.5, but have also upgraded to FMS13. Â I have uninstalled FMS12 and re-installed FMS13, which seems to be working fine. I installed MirrorSync 2 and received a success message. When creating a new sync configuration and trying to connect to my fresh FMS install to select the database is when I get this error: Â java.sql.SQLException, with the error code of 404. I've attached a screenshot of the error message for reference. Â Am I missing a step somewhere? Â Thanks,

  3. I need to be able to have just a technicians schedule and related records (ie customer info, invoice, etc.) synced down to local copy and am a bit confused as to how to set this up. Example: Joe Blow opens file on iPad while out in the field and needs to get his schedule of jobs for the day. With this schedule he needs to see customer information (customer table), what work needs to be done (job table), various survey information (survey and cleaning tables). During the job he will enter work done on boxes (boxes table), create an invoice (invoice, invoice items, inventory tables), etc. I'd like it that when he marks the job as complete it automatically syncs tha…

  4. Were beta testing and I have 8 users I use mirror sync 1.5 build 5937 to create a link to the offline database. I then email all users the link. About half of the users can download the file, open it in filemaker go, but when trying to sync, they get an Error 6 Error 6 apparently means the file is read only. But if I had a configuration error in the server, wouldnt all 8 ipads fail? edit: we have 10 licenses available so its not a license issue On the ipads with issues, I've deleted the offline version from their system and attempted to redownload it using the same link, same issue. I even restarted the ipad to try and clean the file system

  5. When attempting to install MirrorSync, I get an error "Installation failed: The ProscTomcatDaemon could not be loaded with launchctl." When googling, I only saw one other instance of a ProscTomcatDaemon error, and it was related to a bad spanish version of Java (according to the post). I am running 10.9 with Java 7u45. Any ideas? We are using a hosted solution for tracking issues and use MirrorSync to post the field data to the cloud. We lost our developer and are looking for a new one. My question is, is it possible to sync the security manger list form the hosted version down to the FM Go app on the iPad?

  8. I'm struggling to figure out the best way to migrate a development system up thru TEST and then PROD instances. Basically I want an easy way to get all the data added to my production database while I've been busy developing on my development database (which was cloned from prod). Assuming I don't modify any of the synced fields could I expand a FM database (add tables, layouts, scripts) then run mirrorsync on the dev copy? Of course STEP TWO would be to move the dev copy to the production FM server, delete all the MirroSync elements and re-do them so as to include any new tables I created. 9. I have downloaded the demo of Mirror Sync and am trying to set it up for the first time. When I do the first sync I get this error: "java.lang.IllegalStateException: There is an error with node Server node FileMaker_Server/MS_JE; it is not returning sorted records for the initial sync. For example, avhdown1_105747_1031201174915 appears in the list before avhdown1_1057472_89201310243" Is this due to the fact that I am not using UUIDs or a serial number as the ID? The ID I have created is sort of a unique strand that I have created. I have tried setting up mirror sync as using serials and as UUIDs and I get the error both ways. Thank you

  20. Hi All, Is there a way to tell if the initial sync was completed successfully? The problem is, if a local copy of the file is not synced successfully on the opening script and the user goes ahead and makes changes to the file, when they do the first sync, all their data inserted in the local copy gets deleted. I would like to check if the local copy is synced, and if it is not synced with the server, than not allow the user to add data? Is this possible?

I have installed MS on a remote server. I believe it is installed correctly. If I run the DB with the sync installed using FM pro on the server machine the sync works. If I run it remotely either on FM pro or on an iPad it doesn't sync (I have downloaded a fresh file from the MS console). I get an error 404 message saying the server is not available when trying to do the initial sync. the IP address in the error message is the correct external IP of the server. To confirm, all files required for the sync are available using the remote open feature on both the FM pro and iPad, so the files are being published by the server, and are accessible. Please help!

When I initially set up the server there was no need for the Web Publishing Engine or the Web Server so I only installed the Database Server. Therefore, the IT person is reluctant to open the the web ports (80 and 443). When I log onto http://localhost/MirrorSync I receive a 404 error. Is this because the web ports are not open? Hi All, Trying a new install of MirrorSync Demo, and am at the last setup screen where you click all the buttons to copy and paste items into FM. I can copy the MirrorSync table OK (step 1 on the list), but when I go to paste it into the Database, the paste command is greyed out. I can't seem to do anything to get it to work. I am connected to the database remotely (which is I think the proper method), but have also connected directly on the server, and it doesn't work either way. Before staring all of this setup, I did update my FM server and clients to 12.0v3 today. Is there a difference there that might be causing woes?
