FileMaker Pro 15

My Mac crashed and I only have my original v12 DVD installer as I downloaded v15 via Internet. Claris only has the upgrades, not the base installer. I have the v15 licence codes - just need the installer dmg file (or installer disks). I have a Time Machine backup for another Mac with FM v15 on it but not sure I can "re-load" the files to another Mac that way. Any help would be appreciated.

As mentioned in the subject, the PDF generated from some of the user end (not all users) are corrupted. We are on Filemaker Pro 15 with cloud license.

I have a folder with various students db. In the folder I have several files each of them is divided by tabs. I created a database with varioous fields and each of the matches the various files in the folder. As I click Import folders on any FMP Advanced versions on sonoma, ventura I only see FMP importing 3 Files as TEXT CONTENT, FILE NAME, FILE PATH this in each version from FMP15 to FMP19 I tried them all but while in 15 I see my original fields I cannot select the various tab files. as you will see in this image I add. I'm having an issue with the getnthrecord function. I am using it in conjunction with the get(recordnumber) function to get a value from field X in the previous record in a sorted list (i.e. getnthrecord (X ; get(recordnumber) -1), and then add or subtract something from it to give the value of field X in the current record. It's working fine for the first 130 records in the found set (out of about 150) but thereafter it shows a ? in the field--and I cannot click that field to see what value is in there, so it's not obviously a wrong formula or a larger number than the size of the field can contain. I have successfully been using the base elements script step BE_SMTP_Send for sending email via gmail. I have verified the gmail SMTP settings. The error returned and the curl trace are attached. Any insight? I have also tried the standard 'send mail' script step and get an error with that as well.

I’m trying to get the average value of a field on a found set. But it’s not working. Cost is a number field and I use the following script steps to get the average value. Perform Find $$Avg=Average ( BGL::Cost ) But the resulting value is incorrect. Am I missing something. I assume Average works on the found set.

I'd like to remove unused value lists. If the Database Design Report indicates that a value list does not appear on any layout does that mean it is not used and therefore I can safely delete it?

Using FM Pro 15 Advanced, and the Save/Send Records as PDF command, the resulting PDF files take on generic names. Is there a way to give these PDF files a unique name. My hope is that the file names could be generated from a field within the database.

Hello, I have been running FM Server 15 on an AWS instance for about four years and yesterday we were unable to connect to our hosted databases. It turned out to be a connectivity issue with the AWS instance that was fixed by starting and stopping the instance. I'm now able to access the hosted databases remotely, but when I remote in to the AWS instance and try to open the FM Admin Console, it says "This page can't be displayed. Make sure the web address is correct". The more detailed error says "The device or resource (localhost) is not set up to accept connections on port "16001". I’m trying to enter values from a value list based on a calculation field. Specialists::ActiveSpecialists is an unstored text calculation field. The value list ActiveSpecialists reads values from this calculation field. On a new records layout the VL is attached to the Prescriptions::Specialist text field so I can select a name from a drop down list. However, on newly created records, when I select a name, it does not enter into the field. The field remains blank. The source table for the new record layout is Prescriptions. I have a FMP 15 Advanced product application with a few hundred entries. Most entries have a photo shown in a container field. The photo has been entered as reference only. Most of the entries have multiple photos, showing multiple aspects of the item. For now, viewing the other photos in full size requires going into File Explorer and navigating to the directory holding the photos. Each item necessarily has it's own directory. This is cumbersome and seldom done unless absolutely necessary. If I insert a document, I can double-click it to open it. I'm trying to write a script to generate invoices for a group of players by team, save to PDF and eventually email the PDF out. Problem is when I select a particular team, each saved pdf has multiple players' invoices instead of the just one filename = one player. Strange part is the saved pdf for each is different i.e. one file might have 8 different pages (8 different players) while another might have 10. I have a field that holds names, normally four names separated by commas. But right now they are aligned like this: John Doe, Jane Doe, Billy Doe, Jo Doe I need to have them listed on one line such as this: John Doe, Jane Doe, Billy Doe, Jo Doe I tried importing from a CSV and an EXCEL sheet and it still comes out vertical. I’m using the technique described in Difference.fmp12 to find the difference between values on one record and on a previous record. The technique uses a self-join relationship and the Last function. I use the following formulas: Total = Amt1 +Amt2 Total2 = Last(Self_difference2::Total), where Self_difference2 is the self-join TO Change = formula If(IsEmpty(Total2),””,Total -Total2) The if statement suppresses the output on the first record since there is no previous record. Hi guys, Need some advice, I am in the process of creating an app for job tracking in a factory production environment, the job flow had approximately 15 stations. Each station would login and logout the job as the flow moves between station. I would love to deploy the solution by installing an iPad on each station but that would never fly due to cost, also installing a workstation on each station is not an option due to space constrain. is there an option for me to be able to deploy using android tables, or does anyone know is a low cost 10" Windows AIO with touch screen I can use in a industrial environment. The footer on all of my FMP 15 layouts does not appear in Print Preview and does not print. This is happening on all my FMP 15 solutions, not just a particular file. However, it does appear in FMP 12 solutions (I have both FMP 15 adv and FMP 12 adv on my computer). I'm using Windows 10 Home. Sample file.fmp12

I have a set of tables that pull information into a separate table (Table A) , to populate it and prevent user data entry that is incorrect. What I'm trying to do with field A (Table A) is filter records (from Table B ) through field B (also Table A) and then choose from the remaining records by a range of two fields in Table B of a minimum number and a maximum number. If field C (the number field in Table A) is equal to or between the min and max, then a field from the same record in Table B fills in field A, Table A.

So I have am update script running at night - it does use a webviewer to look up internet data - the application of filemaker 15 is crashing at night during the run and the appllication is running out of memory - I checked Activity Monitor and filemaker was using 62 gb (yes GB) when it crashed - is there a script step I need to employ so that the application will not use so much memory during the run? - flush disk cache? I can't update from FMP Adv 15.0.0.305 to 15.0.4. After the update downloads, a software window opens that says "Close all FMP Adv files. FMP Adv will quit, install update and restart application". The windows has an Update button. However, when I close FMP, the software window also closes and I don't have access the the Update button. If I click the Update button before closing FM, I get the message to close FM first! I'm going around in circles. Any suggestions?

We are currently using 360Works Plastic 2 with FMP 15 and have done so successfully for some time now. There are two iMACs that are curently not able to run credit cards and are getting a "no content in header" error every time they try to run credit cards. I have checked to make sure the most recent version of FMP 15 is on the computer and any updates to Plastic 2. I have been in contact with our merchant provider and they keep telling me the API is missing but the API is there and other computers on the server can charge credit cards. Any suggestions? I have also removed the OS and FMP and reloaded with no success.

Hi Folks, I've had to wipe my laptop and re-install MacOS. I saved all the files, but Apple support said there was no point in saving the apps because they wouldn't work - I'd have to re-install them too. There's no download of FMP15 on the Filemaker website - does anyone know where it's hidden? Unfortunately, FM support doesn't work over the weekend. Man, am I frustrated with the current update, which I am reminded about every few days when I start Filemaker. It asks me if I want to download, does not download the file to my designated Downloads folder, and then tells me that I must close Filemaker in order to proceed (see screen shot). When I close FM, the update stops of course, and I end up without my update. Three days later, this whole little scene plays out again. I've got a global container field that is used so users can drag and drop whatever file to store into our document management system. It's used more as a staging object so the scripting can pull metadata from the file and act accordingly. hence the global storage. Using OS X, a user can drag a single page from the thumbnail area of Adobe Acrobat/Reader onto the layout object and it processes the single page PDF as it should. But the same procedure under a Window environment does not insert the PDF into the contain. When they left hover the thumbnail over the container object, it shows the plus icon as it should. I didn't see any subforum that's specifically devoted to FileMaker as a product. If this is in the wrong place, sorry in advance and feel free to shush or move me. It's a few years since I spent money on FileMaker, but I'm considering recommending it to a public library and am bewildered by the current store offerings. I expected to find renewable annual licenses for 4 or 5 seats of FMP, 1 of FM Advanced, and then talk about the pluses and minuses of hosting on 1 seat of FMS. Instead, I'm finding group subscriptions, no mention of Advanced, but something else called Developer. Can anyone point me to a rundown of FMP's current suite of offerings?

The FMP 15 crashes randomly after every 2-3 days on windows systems. I have checked the issue for the fault module in event log (Fault Module Name: mshtml.dll) and some place i checked it was suggested to reinstall the application, which i have tried multiple times. But the crash still occurs. Is there any possible solutions to avoid it ? Does it have anything to with the application running a hosted filemaker files or is it a system issue ? To those of you living on the bleeding edge of FM 15 on Windows, I am wondering if there are any notable improvements specific to that platform. In particular, I wonder about two things that I have found perpetually bothersome: 1. Confinement of FM windows within a larger master application Window (akin to Word for Windows 3.1). 2. Many times, there are smaller tweaks which have taken place in a new version which are not specifically posted in the 'new features' section. Simple curiosity to understand ... when I open a file in 15 and go into Manage Database and then exit again, sometimes FM displays 'rebuilding dependencies' even if nothing has changed, I've simply opened it and closed again. Can anyone explain what behavior change in 15 might trigger this action? Thank you!

I am observing a change in behavior between 15 and prior versions: Using Get ( ActivePortalRowNumber) on a number field's auto enter values, on a child table. When you create a record in to a portal the value starts at 2 not 1 as it does in prior versions. bug.fmp12
