Hello all, I am running Filemaker 24 on Filemaker Cloud in windows. We have a shared drive on a server in our office. On this drive we have project folders and our Filemaker solution creates and writes to these folders when our employees are in the office and connected to the shared drive. The issue is that our employees are not always in the office, they often work in the field and at home. I had set up a validation script during startup that tried to import from an excel file on the shared drive and if it threw error 100 (file is missing) then is set a global field for that session saying they were remote. Hello All, I am running my solution on FM Cloud 2024 and am using Filemaker Pro 2024 on our local machines. I have created a developer copy of my database to add and test new features. In the past I have made changes, tested them, made notes on exactly what I did then made those changes in the production version. This time however I have made a complete overhaul including new themes and layout designs. To recreate all those changes in the production version would be a nightmare. Hello all, I am trying to create a webdirect file. I am just in the testing phase now because I have never done one before. The file was created, uploaded to Filemaker Cloud and configured it for webdirect but I can't seem to find the correct URL to access it. I clicked on the elipse in the upper right corner of the Host window with the file highlighted and got "fmnet:/accountname.filemaker-cloud.com/filemane". I tried to just add the /fmi/webd to the end both with and without the filename. I tried adding that along with https:// to the beginning both with and without the fmnet:/ part and no luck. I have searched all over for help on this and can't find anything at all. I have 2 d/bs on one FMCloud host that has a Connected Drive. Both d/bs have a Doc table with fields to create a link to open the relevant document. Until now, each user has been able to open a synced version of the document in a Dropbox folder on their local computer. Now I have a user who can't download FM Pro to her computer so I need to store the docs on FMCloud in a sub-folder on the Connected Drive for docs exclusively for this app. How do I create the sub-folder? I just created a new FM Cloud account and tried to upload an existing file but i get the message: File cannot be uploaded as it does not have the required password. My local file has an account Admin with a password. I have added my Claris ID email account as a User in "Authenticate via Claris ID" (though there is nowhere to input the password) I have made a local user with my Claris ID email address and password. I still get the same error message. What is the "required password"????

Just a heads up for potential FileMaker Cloud users. Although the cloud server is technically FileMaker Server 19 still, Claris has now locked users out of downloading the FileMaker 19 client for cloud users. So if you have users that must remain on macOS 11 for some reason, you are out of luck. Obviously, the FileMaker Pro 19 client is still supported and works with the FileMaker Server 19 in use with cloud, but that's now irrelevant. Disappointing policy decision made by Claris.

Hi guys! So we recently started using filemaker cloud for our database, since then we have had 2 incidents in which a record has disappeared from the database. The record hasn't been deleted, when we export the database to excel it doesn't show up as an empty record as deleted records normally show up. The record number jumps from one record to another, so for example record 474 disappeared and the records go 472,473,475,476 etc.... Can you guys help? We have no idea what's causing this and no clue on how to investigate. Thank you

If an institution is blocking access to FM Cloud, does one provide them with just the host address for the Cloud instance or also the IPs? In the case of the latter, does one provide the proxy IP or private IP or both?

I have an estimating database for our cabling business with a parts table, an estimate table and and Estimate line item table. I have set up conditional value lists for the entry into the line items table. The first filed is the category field which has a straight value list (not conditional) and is populated with custom values (Fiber, Copper, Low voltage, Electrical etc.). Hello all, I am running Filemaker 19 with Filemaker cloud. On my local machines I have 360works email plug in. I have a startup script on first window open that registers the plug in and makes sure its ready to go. Now I want to run a script on the server side that has nothing to do with the plugin but it keeps throwing the error "Schedule "script" scripting error (4) at "database::startup: 13: <Unknown external script step from missing plug-in (#MLR - 1578)>" because cloud doesn't support plug-ins. Hello all, I hope I can explain this well enough. We are running Filemaker cloud 19 on windows. I have created a local opener file. It has one script which opens up the hosted file on the cloud. I put this file on everyone's computer so they don't have to open Filemaker, go to hosts and find the file. One click and it opens up the hosted file and the Claris log in screen pops up with their username and they just enter their password. The log in screen is the issue. Hello All, I am hoping this is a simple answer that I am just not seeing due to my mad cow disease. We just switched to the Cloud Server and I am creating some new privilege sets for users (up until now, I was the only one using Filemaker). I created them but I can't seem to be able to test them myself. When I open Filemaker, it pops up my Claris ID sign in window with MY username and it doesn't give me the option of changing it. Normally, I would created a dummy account and assign it a new privilege set and then sign in as that person. Hello All, I am considering moving my server 19 to the cloud server. I am currently using the trial version. With my server 19 set up, I have a "startup" file that automatically launches the database from the server. I made a shortcut which I can put our company logo as the icon so all the user has to do is double click it and the database opens. I can't seem to find a way to do this with the cloud server. The current one is a simple script with an open file in it (see attached). I am looking for input on a shared hosting vendor (database written in version 12). We are a very small business. Years ago we had a very bad experience with World Cloud. We switched to Point In Space which has been excellent, but unfortunately they are closing shop in March. We just have 1 database and ~3 users. What is important to us is reliability/uptime, customer service (with World Cloud they'd never respond...we lost our database in the end and had to rebuild), backups and ability to download them with a simple FTP. I’m trying to create a database with the following 2 key needs: - 2 staff editors, who would input material into our FM database on a regular basis (so I know I need to buy them the 2 FMP licenses) - different clients viewing and searching this database, through a webpage, with read-only access I’m confused with FM Cloud. Am I right that this will allow for the first need, where my two editors in different cities can access and edit the one database. But it will not allow for second issue, the client access, as each client would need to *buy* a FM license to access the file? Thanks- any advice would be very helpful.

Hi All, We have setup the AWS Server as per the below specifications. Now we are installing the FileMaker Server 19 however we are facing the error issue as mentioned in the attached screenshot. I have just started to use FileMaker Cloud and have watched the video suggested in the email from Claris but I do not seem to be able to login to hosted database file using the [Full Access] account previously setup. I have created the Groups in the FileMaker Cloud instance which match the same one orininally created in my file, ie. Administrators and General Users and have set the accounts within the file to use the matching cloud Group. However I still cannot workout how to open the hosted file using the Admin account originally setup in the file. I am wondering if anyone else finds logging into Filemaker cloud cumbersome. I have a long email address for my business. Its going to be annoying for my staff to login and out of multiple workstations. I preferred using the server authentication with a simple user name login. Now it appears that I need to have my staff login with a Claris ID.

My situation is kind of particular. Years ago I administered a dozen databases on a local install of FMS (around FMP13). These days, at a different workspace, I do different work and only maintain a couple of local databases on an FMS install that, for security reasons, has no public face (i.e. no browser interface). Hi Support team, We have planned to host the 5GB filemaker file in the FileMaker Cloud for AWS. The Cloud backup will be taken for every 20 minutes. We don't need the backup for that 5GB for every 20 minutes. Is there anyway to select multiple files and to take the backup of the selected files only in the FileMaker Cloud for AWS? I have 2 users who handle data input on a database file but upwards of 100 Clients who require search only capability, but only 1 or 2 would access the information simultaneously. I don't believe I need to Host the Database via webdirect but could I export the data via XML or HTML and use a web based App to create the Website with the data search capability. Hi, I am trying to perform an import from one table to another within a FM cloud file but cannot see how this works. I need to run the import on the server as running it from teh desktop client is far too slow compared to when I had the database hosted locally. I have worked out how to get simplke scripts running on the server by setting a parameter (eg the layout), but I only get error messages when trying to run an import script taht worked finme on a local version of the db. Hi All, We have the FileMaker solution hosted in FileMaker Cloud, which was used mainly by the WebDirect users. The Web users wants to know about the session expiry before 5 minutes from the expiry. Currently we have set the "FileMaker WebDirect Session Timeout" as 25 minutes. Is there anyway to notify user about the session expiry with the message like "Your session will expire in 5 minutes." in browsers. Please let us know. Thanks.

Good afternoon, I was wondering please if anybody else has experienced problems where an FM Go v17 app (by Infinite Peripherals) cannot connect to an instance of FM Cloud 1.18.1.x (latest version I understand) as the app reports it does not support this version of Filemaker. I've an Infinea X "sled", an iPhone 6s in it running FM Go 18. The Infinite Peripherals solution that comes with the sled is based on FM v17. My host is AWS. Infinite Peripherals advise that it may be a setting in FM Cloud that prevents an earlier version (v17) connecting to it. I have developed a solution that is hosted in FM Cloud (through AWS) and I have need to rename it. I have a non-profit client who holds one big event every summer. They are staffed by volunteers, most of whom move on each year. Almost no one ever has even heard of FileMaker, it is little used on my island. I want to retire but don't want to abandon them. I have been a FileMaker Developer for 30 years but have not been keeping up to date the last several years. Good evening. I have several solutions in my FM Cloud instance and they all work fine - having been uploaded a few months ago. If I have need to download them, I extract them with the EAR password that I initially put up there. A few weeks back I uploaded another solution, and it may or may not have asked me to supply an encryption password - I honestly don't remember. Now I have need to download this newer solution, but the encryption password I originally setup does not work. I downloaded other files and could access them, but not this one. FileMaker emailed an alert to cloud customers warning that they may not be able to login to their FM Cloud console using valid credentials. My cloud 17 client did not have a problem logging in, but my cloud 16 client did. WARNING: Their support team is requesting administrators to send an UNENCRYPTED EMAIL containing the private key file to resolve this issue. But, they do have an FTP-TLS method for delivering this file. Make sure to ask for this info if you are also locked out of your server. Good evening, Some of you may already be aware, but the latest version of BE plugin for Linux (4.0.3) is causing issues when installed on FM Cloud. Filemaker and Goya (authors of BE) both acknowledge this. Goya have recommended rolling back to 4.0.2 which works fine. My question is (on top of all the other issues with FM Admin Console is giving - grrrr), I need to remove the plugin that is up there. I understand it is done via SSH. Does anybody know how to remove FM Cloud plugins please? Greg

I'm trying to implement a current file maker solution, into the cloud with amazon web services. I seem to have been able to set it up, but I have a couple of questions that I'm unsure of. 1.) How do I handle external file storage? For example I have documents that may be edited on a laptop, but I want the office computer to have the latest copy. 2.) I have a number of scripts to manage the data, php, applescript, etc. I'm not sure what the best way to handle this is. Any tips, or FM cloud for dummies ?

I have a file 73.3mb hosted with fmphost with a starter filmmaker host. I am running 16 on my machines and it is hosted on 14. It has recently become incredibly slow. I have not added any new scripts and I have removed some to see if it makes any difference. Any insights as to why this might have happened recently? I realise that may a very difficult question to answer without seeing the solution. Would I be better off with dedicated hosting with 16? At the moment I am toying with going back to keeping the file in dropbox and not using go.

Not only is the cloud now in parity with the FileMaker 16 platform with PDF and print on the server, but we now also have the ability to create Server Side schedules on FileMaker Cloud. Hi... I have been using Filemaker Cloud for three months and like others, my certificate expired. This has become my worst nightmare. I took my problem up directly with Filemaker Support and they put their best people on my case. They even remote logged into my computer to make sure that I was doing everything exact..which I did. This is what they instructed me to do.... 1) Buy A domain Name (I had one already) 2) We created a CSR/KEY File on my mac using terminal. Sorts are taking too long for me on FileMaker Cloud. A database solution on a local machine (no network) sorts 400 records in less than one second; the same sort via FileMaker Cloud (no Webdirect, no browser, just FileMaker Pro Advanced) takes 30-40 seconds. None of the usual suspects (such as unstored calculations) is involved. It just takes way longer. Richard Carlson says that FM Cloud (like WebDirect) forces all sorts to take place on the server. Does this mean that our AWS server is simply slow, and we have to live with that?

We access them via WebDirect, so they must be hosted. I haven't seen any help on renewing the comodo certificate for Filemaker Cloud. When you try to renew from the Admin Console, you are taken to a renewal page, but it says you need to generate a Certificate Signing Request from your server. I dont see how you generate a CSR from the cloud server, and Filemaker has not documented this. Has anyone gone through this yet and if so, can you provide details?

One thing we must realize is that what we have now is a 1.0 release, which means that there can be some “rough edges” that needs to be polished in future releases.
