An inspector gets this message and i have looked at his previous syncs and every so often he gets this however searchign the table on the hub and or getting a copy of his file and looking at it thre are not any dupliates. Dear all, i have a problem with the Database Version from Mirror Sync. At first to explain. We have a Big Main file, where all Data come together. Connected to this Main file, we have several SubFiles. (currently around 4 but there will be more in the future) One of the SubFiles is an offline Version, which we use Mirror Sync to Synchronice a few Tables. Is there a way to preload just a handful of large tables that need to get all records? Most of the tables are a small set based on work orders and customer history, but some like products table and proposal templates are pushed as all records. Is there a setting or script section that I'm missing on the initial server side sync?

What causes this message ?

I have an inspector in the field they did a new inspection, the "log" table is spoke to hub one way so new records should push to the hub. However only three records uploaded. This seems to be only happening to one inspector, I had him email me the file and indeed I saw 19 records. In the MS script I don't have any customization for that table in the Hub section or the Spoke section. (linux server)

BACKGROUND Our structure is with a hosted hub file and a hosted spoke file that users download... both existing users when they need an updated spoke file and new users who are getting the spoke file for the first time. We have a file based log in to the system - everyone gets to our log in screen with a generic security-based log in and then enter their "staff" log in credentials to validate and enter the system. Running MirrorSync 6.7 with FileMaker Server 2024 on macOS 13.5. Sync runs fine with no problems, but when I try to trigger an update from the server by updating VersionNumber, the client (iPad FM Go 2024) prompts "New database version available", then opens mirrorsynclauncher, and shows "File could not be downloaded" prompt with some HTML code in the message. Clicking OK closes the app and user ends up in the opening screen of FM Go. Any clues on what to do to fix? Thanks!

I am trying to uninstall Mirrorsync but can't figure out how, it doesn't show up as a program on my computer so I can't uninstall it from there and the uninstall file in the 360works folder doesn't have an uninstaller in it either. I have read through the documentation on the 360 works site and the file it points to doesn't exist for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I added a table to sync to my config twice. Both times it ended up being removed from the config I don't know the exact timeline. I add it in the config. I do a sync test. It works. Days later I check again and the table is no longer in the config Any idea what can cause this ?

I have established a deletion system. A table contains the record ids that should be deleted. Mirrorsync will only delete the records that have their ids in that table. I use the API to create the records of this table prior to the sync but for some reasons it freezes on some devices What I would like to do is instead of using the API to populate the table is to sync it. But for that to work as intended it would need to be synced before any other table. Is that possible ? How ?

Hi, I have a syncing solution where the spoke is a Copy of the Hub. One of the fields in the solution is UPC (barcode). When the Spoke user enters a barcode into UPC lookups are performed on three additional fields, Product, Size and SKU. The settings on these three fields are 'Indexed, Auto-enter Calculation replaces existing value'. All four fields (UPC, Product, Size and SKU) need to be displayed on Hub after Spoke syncs. Should Product, Size and SKU be excluded from Sync since they are contain looked up values? Or should UPC be the only field included in the sync? Thanks, ft.

Hi all, I recently switched to a new server and obviously the sync data was missing so some users had issues with syncing but that's mostly resolved now except for on one Spoke database, where they are trying to sync data and the error 'One or more of the spoke databases have records in them. You must select a mode for initial sync operation." So I checked on all the usual help pages and found out which initial sync operation mode i would like to use on this one, but I can't find anywhere I can set that? I have checked the script and the configuration - could someone point me in the direction of that choice please? TIA Lewis

On my windows server, the mirror sync folder is now 55GB how do I clear out caches or whatever is causing bloat?

I am looking to filter the results coming from a sync. The Custom SQL qualifier checkbox mentioned in Advanced Help is missing. I assumed it may have been removed in an update so I attempted to write a WHERE clause in the $$MIRRORSYNC_USERTOKEN but this did not work. I.e. "WHERE (Project_id='101')" . Can no longer connect to the mirrorsync page to download the MirrorSync3ConfigClient.jnlp file, when I try to run it on the server itself I get the following error 'Could not connect to 360works Tomcat Daemon: java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: 127.0.0.1; Nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect. I have a MirrorSync 5 install that has been running fine for a few years. I'm trying to push out new versions to a fleet of iPads. The links to download a new offline copy seem to be getting hung up. I let them go on a couple different iPads and after about 30 minutes, I cancelled the processes. I restarted the server and was able to generate a new copy on one iPad after about six minutes. Then tried again and am back to being hung up again. I was using Safari to trigger the link and it would just spin. I tried on Chrome and eventually got a message that I haven't seen before "DBDownloader is too busy and was canceled." Any insight on what could be causing this?…

I added a table to the sync config. User synced and the server received the records. 2 days later he tries to sync new records but the server never received them....simply because , strangely, the table is no longer in the sync config. Hi, FM Server 18 and Mirrorsync 6.3 currently run on the same Mac Mini. I need to migrate to new hardware and FileMaker 19. The IP address and DNS name will not be changing. I have several field techs with iPads or iPhones back in the day when I setup this system we just used the same credentials because people were sharing devices. That has long changed and each user has their own device. I am trying to reconfigure things so that users login and get their files but for some reason I think the update process resigns them back in with the original credentials. What's the best way to re-set this up properly?

We are building a solution that connects 60 trucks to head office. Ideally each truck should only receive their own orders. Can we use the relationship to the FileMaker server as a filter for the orders (Primary key and Truck Number) or do we need to sync all orders and filter them on the client side? TIA John

I have a MirrorSync project which does a bi-directional sync between some FM tables and a MySQL database. But for the past few days I keep getting the following error whenever I try to edit the project: com.prosc.sync.DatabaseException If I choose a table that exists in both FM and MySQL, the error occurs when clicking 'next' on the Sync Direction screen. Is it possible to empty a single Table on the Spoke when using Bi-Rectional syncing? I want to ensure a refresh on the spoke sometimes, but not for all the tables as the DB is very large. I could go and empty the spoke table manually BUT that will cause all the records to be deleted on the Host next time it syncs. I know I can do "Delete Spoke", but that will do ALL the tables... I only want to do specific a table(s). Is this possible?

Hi. This may be a question with a very obvious answer. I recently helped my client rollout MirrorSync on iPads. They have about 7 people on the field, each with an iPad. Ultimately, mirrorSync is being used because they need to take photos and store them in the database while out on the field. They are usually working on areas with little to no cellular data signal. At first, they reported issues with errors during sync'ing. We were able to get around those errors by redistributing the same database file that we started with. I am wondering what kind of maintenance you recommend to keep MirrorSync running smoothly. I have a very large sync configuration (syncing about ~80 tables) and, despite the size, at first syncs run fairly fast at first and slowly begin to take longer and longer over time. It seems like changing the file or sync configuration "resets" the sync speed and things are faster for a while, but then eventually slow down again. Are there maintenance things I should be doing to keep the syncs as fast as possible? How often would you recommend running these things? Thank you!

I've got a MirrorSync setup, and if multiple users are syncing at the same time, but one of them cancels, it cancels the sync for all of them. Is there a way to make it only cancel one of them, or do I need to only allow one user to sync at a time?

Hi Does anyone know what this error in MirrorSync 6.21 refers to - "Client did not accept the message queued for it after 120 seconds"? The sync is via FMGo running on an iPad, to a Windows Server where MirrorSync and the Hub DB are stored. We've had successful syncs previously. Many thanks for any advice - Jon

Hi, If, due to System Preferences, the client Mac's screen locks after, say 10 minutes (but the client does not sleep) is there any negative impact on performance or completion of sync? Similarly, does a sync count as 'activity' if the client is set to log out after, say, 30 minutes of inactivity? Will the client get logged out at 30 minutes if the sync is longer than 30 minutes? Hello Since Tuesday I have been getting an error every time I try and login to the MirrorSync Config Client - see image. The error says the password is incorrect, though I know this not be the case as I copy and paste it from a secure password store. However, I have also re-installed MirrorSync on the server in order to reset the password as per online documentation and still get the below error. Due to releasing a new version of my Spoke file, it now means no user can sync without me being able to manage the licences! Would anyone have experienced this before who may be able to help, please? Working with an install of MS5 that's been running for a long time. We're using the link method to download a fresh clone copy of the database from the server. We've never had a problem with it, but a user is trying to set up a new iPad and we're getting this error after a minute or two of seeing "Download file is being generated..." in the browser: Could not get sync join for hub node FileMaker Server s711794.fmphost.com/LayoutName Copies that are already downloaded and installed are syncing with no issues. Additionally, this is not iPad specific. I'm getting the same error on two different iPads. And the server has been restarted. Any thoughts?

Hi, I am running FileMaker Server 18.0.4 (macOS 10.15.7) with MirrorSync v6.21 (the latest at time of posting). I would like to upgrade to FileMaker Server 19 on macOS 12 Monterey. Is there a way that I can upgrade the server and keep MirrorSync intact? I'm trying to create a log on the server where users can view a list of all syncs. I want to log the start and end of each sync, and if the sync was successful or not. This works wonderfully if the sync is successful, because I can log the start of the sync in the "PreSync" area for custom scripting, and log the end of the sync in the "PostSync" area for custom scripting. However, the PostSync scripting only runs if the sync is successful. Is there some part of the hub sync customization script that runs if the sync fails?

The recovery mode is driving me crazy. When it's engaged the sync goes from taking a minute to taking 50 minutes. And it's engaged way too often and it does not make sense (at least to me) to check every single record of a user because he cancelled a sync. A user cancelled a sync this morning because his internet connection was poor. The result was that his following sync entered in recovery mode and took ages to complete because it had to check for thousands of records. Why does it need to do that ? I have a table that is currently synced both ways. I would like it to be synced from the HUB to the devices uniquely and no longer the other way around. Since the MS6 config utility no longer generates a filemaker script I would guess that I can change the direction and save without having to send a new version. Am I right and is it safe to do so ?

I started the process by doing an initial sync on a device using the current installation of Mirrorsync 4. I then installed Mirrorsync 6 and configured it. I returned to my device and tried to sync. I first got an error about insufficient privileges which I fixed by adding the api privilege to the sync privilege set. We have a FileMaker database with corresponding fields in MariaDB. When records are created in SQL, they are sync'd with FileMaker and the record is indeed created and the writeback field has an auto-incremented value, but the writeback field is not always "written back" to SQL. What is worse, if the record is modified in SQL, the null value in the writeback field is sync'd back to FileMaker so that a field which is defined as Indexed, Auto-enter Serial, Always Validate, Unique actually winds up with a null value! Any idea how to troubleshoot this problem. We can recreate it quite frequently.

I had successfully installed MirrorSync 6 on a AWS Windows Server with FileMaker Server 19 (connecting to an AWS Aurora DB). I have now replaced that server with FMS 19 on Ubuntu Linux. But for the life of me I don't understand how to install MirrorSync on that box. The documentation says it can be installed on Mac, Windows, and Linux, but only gives instructions for Mac and Widows. What am I missing?

We had a database corruption and had to revert to a backup last week. Some users had synced new data after the backup so when they synced after the it was uploaded, their data was deleted on the device. What I wanted to do is to set the conflict resolution to "spoke always wins" so when mirrorsync does not find the record on the server it syncs it again on it. To my surprise it was not an option. I have done filtering in prior versions of MirrorSync with the SQL statement per Table. That has changed in MirrorSync 6 and It is not working for me. Trying to get the new concept. What I am an doing is I have a Historical Database of all the Students, Grades, Report Cards... This is about 100 Data tables. I have an Active field that will update the Student Record and cascade to all of the related student records. I am finding that sporadically, I am missing container data after a sync. It's only on new records, and doesn't happen to every single one. The record is synchronised and all data exists in it, except the image in the container itself. I have deleted the MirrorSync Layout and Scripts, and re-pasted from the MirrorSync Support file but can see another record from today. I'm not sure how to report as the sync does not error and states it completed successfully. Are there any known causes of this?

Hello, I am experiencing an issue using auto-update on my multi-file solution. Someone else had this same error here. The are 3 files in the solution and it is designed for the user to have 2 of the files open at the same time. During the auto-update, the main file closes but the assisting file remains open and the error "<assistingFile.fmp12> could not be created on this disk. Use a different name, make more room on the disk, unlock it or use a different disk" is thrown when trying to install the update. Any tips on how to handle this? Thanks!

We want to use MirrorSync to synchronise a very large FileMaker database to a SQL Database. The Hub (FileMaker) Database controlls our production and should contain only data from the last 2 years. The Spoke (SQL) Database is used by BI-Department to analyse actual and historical data and must contain alltime data The direction of the sync is one-way from hub to spoke. On a certain date all data older than 2 years is deleted (really deleted - not just marked as deleted!!!) from the hub. Hi I keep getting the error that the server did not respond to the MirrorSync script request. I have restarted the server, as the error below suggests, but to no avail. I have also upgraded MirrorSync to the most recent version. Any ideas how I can fix this, it's happening for all users!

(I posted this as a continuation of my previous thread but realized it may have gotten buried so I'm starting it as a new thread) I have a config setup that automatically syncs all fields in the tables and there are currently NO actual fields on the layouts that MirrorSync uses. I have two devices out in the field that are currently using that configuration. If I were to go into the configuration on the server and change it so that it only syncs the fields that are on the layout and I add the fields that I want to the MIrrorSync layouts in the hosted database, can those two devices that are out in the field still sync without any errors? I implemented the latest version of MirrorSync on a new system. Since we don't need to include fields that we want to sync on the sync layouts, how do we exclude fields. Does MirrorSync assume you want all fields if there are none on the layout? If I put some on the layout, will it only sync those fields?

Started to have this error out of the blue this week. This resulted in record deletions on the device (thankfully not on the server). I had to force full deletion of the app + initial sync for 2 users so far. This is quite a huge bug. What can cause this exactly ? We haven't touched anything related to the tables affected.

I have a simple central Hub with 1 Spoke (iPad). On the hub there is a layout with a Portal that allows users to enter a new record in the related table. have essentially mirrored this on the Spoke iPad. However, when I populate a Portal Row on the Hub, then sync. The Portal Row on the Spoke iPad is unpopulated. On the iPad, I can go to the Layout affected and manually enter a row in the the Portal, but this needs to work automatically. Any suggestions in how to diagnose this issue? Is there any way to set one of the global variables on the hub database and have that value get passed back to the spoke? I am trying to pass the total number of records that will be updated to the spoke database to give users an idea of how long the sync will take. I am running into an issue with MS 6.12 lately. I recently upgraded from MS v4 and thought MS6 did the job just fine. I sync FMS-FMS only. No offline files. I notice that randomly, an updated modified timestamp gets 'ignored' by MS, and the corresponding changes never push to the hub server. I end up with different datasets in the hub and spoke. Then, with another change committed, the MOD timestamp int he hub updates, and that's when MS6 has another chance of picking up that change. We've been doing a one-way sync from FileMaker Server to a data warehouse on SQL Server for years. MirrorSync runs every 15 minutes to pump the data from FileMaker tables to SQL Server tables. We'd like to archive records in the FileMaker system but retain them in the data warehouse. This is primarily for performance and usability reasons. The FileMaker users have no need to refer to the records that are more than 5 years old, of which there are a few hundred thousand. How can i prevent mirrorsync from deleting records from the hub when i deleted them on FilemakerGo. I tried to search the forum, but i didn´t find an answer. Do you have any idea? I was already thinking about a second configuration, but i cant come up with an solution. Thank you in advance for your inputs

Occasionally I have to review a backup file, and since the file is the same file that is used as the remote (spoke file) how do i prevent it from ever attempting to sync - with the server. I wish it will never attempt to sync. right now i have to be caffeinated enough to remember to turn on script debugger to halt the sync script when starting the file.

I propose to use MirrorSync to setup a signed delivery docket system for a client. The existing Delivery Docket system has over 20000 records so I want to limit any sync between the server and the iPod touches I propose for use in the field to active records only. I can use the status of the records to select these (Active) records on the server side. What is the best way to ensure only these records are synched between the server and the in field devices? At the moment the historic records don't have UUID unique identifiers and Creation and Modifies TimeStamps, but all new records do.

User inserts pdf on the offline device. The container is set to Optimize for Images User can see the first page of the pdf in the container (as an image) After the user synced, the same container field on the server will display the file name instead of the image of the first page. I am attempting to update from MirrorSync V4 to V6. Step 1 in the new sync setup under V6 is 'Copy the MirrorSync' Table from the 'MirrorSync Support' database in my database. The problem is I have not done that yet for V6, yet the checkmark is showing as I presume the MirrorSync table is already in my database from my previous V4 installation. I don't want to overwrite what's there in case it corrupts my Mirrorsync V4 installation I may have to revert to. My questions are: 1) Is the MirrorSync Table the exact same between V4 and V6? 2) If not, is there any way to retain the V4 version functional while testing V6? 3) $$MIR…

What is the guidance on this... I had the craziest week trying to get things to sync I would download a fresh build and had the checkbox not checked and the spoke database just would not ever update the value. I had to have the check box set on the hub before we distributed a spoke file in order for the sync to actually work and for us to interact with the record because the field was a way to 'lock' record until released.

Does a record "exist" for MirrorSync BEFORE it is committed in FileMaker? MirrorSync is reporting errors for missing primary keys. When I look at the data the keys are there. Is there a period of time during record creation, maybe of child/related records from the parent and/or before the new record is committed, when MirrorSync might grab a record that is incomplete?

Hello, I have a problem after updating from MirrorSync 4 to 6. I installed Mirrorsync 6 as described in the Updates Notes to the server in the folder where Mirror 4 was already located. The installation was also successful. But when I logged in to the Mirrorsync Console with the same login data (Server Adress and so on) as before, I got the error: "Could not connect to the URL where this application was downloaded from" : (and my Server Adress) What have I done wrong? Hi everyone, my solution has a standard user without a password. Start syncying, mirrorsync asks for a password, I left it blank. Syncing works perfectly. On the 2nd time syncing I get the error "Authentication failed, try running the sync again, you will be prompted for a password. Starting syncing again, it asks for a password, I left it blank, it works perfectly. Then syncing again, I get the error message again. And so on. It seems MirrorSync can't handle empty passwords correctly. Any solution? Thanks, Chris

Basically I want to sync all the databases both ways except for the surveys that the engineers complete. I want the survey from the iPad to sync to the server, but I don't want all the surveys to them sync back to all the other iPads. I read the below... we are syncing tables in a file on FMS with SQL Server tables. We have ALL fields ont he sync layout, including all of the usual auto enter account, user, date and time fields. We have not experienced problems. I'm trying out MirrorSync on a simple FM application with one iPad with FMGo18, FMserver18 and FM18 client. The sync functionality seems to work as expected but when I update the database's version number, which is passed on to MirrorSync::DatabaseVersion field via an unstored calc, the iPad, after syncing, will start the MirroSyncUpdater but nothing happens. If I manually start the run-script the version update is performed but ends with an error saying that the file could not be opened. After a sync, the following text appeared within a container field set up with External (Secure) Storage (this is just the first line of the text) This error is across many records. At the same time, the database actually doubled in size ... It appears to have happened to a set of records that were modified that day (although the modification was actually in a new field - none of the fields set for mirroring were modified) Has anyone seen this before? We recently upgraded to version 6 and seem to have a new issue. I placed a button for the sync script trigger on a layout for our Project. After performing the 1st sync from an iPad to the hosted database, it returns the user to the Project layout, but on a new blank project record (instead of the original). Is there any way to prevent MirrorSync from creating a new blank record, or to delete that new record as part of the script so users return to the correct place? This has really confused people because it appears to the user like they just deleted all their project information. Hello, I was wondering: Since mirrorsync centers so much about the MSMOD field (last modified timestamp) - what is the reason these are left populated after they were successfully synced? Both, initial sync times and incremental sync times accumulate longer and longer the more MSMOD fields have timestamps in them; even when they are the same across all synced instances? Would it not make sense to clear the MSMOD timestamp following successful sync to reduce the load on the sync process? Thank you.

Hi, I finally created a new configuration with Mirrorsync 6.1 but now I detected a problem that I don´t know what is causing it. Fields that are number but are not Autocalculation values with the Round function, after sync appear in the spoke with the all the hidden numbers after the specified number of decimals, and the decimal mark (comma) is moved to the fixed number of decimals indicated in the Data Formatting Area. Example: in the hub 39,8601398601398601 that is displayed as 39,8601 (with data formatting) appears after sync in the spoke as 39860139860139,8601. But if I put the cursor inside it is displayed as 39.8601398601398601 I suppose it has to be something…

Hi, I was working fine with Filemaker Server 16 and Mirrorsync 5. As I wanted to move upwards, in a new server I installed Filemaker Server 18.03 and SSL certificate. Then I followed these steps: installed Mirrorsync 5, activated the licence, stopped the mirrorsync server, replaced the SyncData4_MirrorSync folder with the original one from the old server, started the mirrorsync server, edited the configuration I had imported but when I get to the Table Mapping screen I cannot move on. Hi everyone! We've been getting this error when trying to sync one person in particular. All other syncs for over 100 devices are ok. Error from server: java.io.IOException: Server returned unexpected status code: 502 for URL. 502 - Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server. I've done the timeout test from 360Works and I get a successful message. Anything else I could be missing? I appreciate the help!

Tried to re-install MirrorSync 5.0005 (only copy of Version 5 I had in my files) after trying to install MirrorSync Version 6 and realizing it wasn't compatible with FMS16. I uninstalled Version 6, installed Version 5 (also updated Java to latest version while I was at it) and am now getting a message when trying to login to MirrorSync - "An unexpected error occurred while logging in. java.rmi.ServerException: RemoveException occurred in server thread; nested exception is: java.rmi.UnmarshalException: unrecognized method hash: method not supported by remote object" Any help would be much appreciated. It is supposed to be setup for a failover (but this has not worked automatically for over a month) I need to reboot Server2 Is there anything I need to watch when rebooting? Mirrorsync 4.0027 I have dealt with many an error 502 during initial sync with earlier versions of FMS - 12,14,15. The easy fix was to simply increase the PoxyPass timeout in /Library/FileMaker Server/Admin/admin-helper/WEB-INF/conf/mod_proxy.conf. The problem now is that FMS18 does not have /Library/FileMaker Server/Admin/admin-helper/WEB-INF/conf/mod_proxy.conf. Any guidance here, please? I remain very confused why a mirror copy of the same database file needs to sync well over 5000 records on initial sync, BTW. Thank you!!!
