While troubleshooting an issue for a client that uses FTPeek, I realized that the version of the FTPeek plug-in was not the current version. The issue they are experiencing appears to be with the external target of the FTP transfer, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to update the plug-in version. After manually moving the new plugin file to the Extensions folder and reopening FileMaker Pro, the dialog 'Preparing plug-ins for first use' dialog appeared as expected. Unfortunately, the system was unable to successfully download and install the supporting files. I have verified that the 'Allow Solutions to Install Files' option is enabled in Preferences. I also removed…

I'm having intermittent issues with a client who is using FTPeek on FMPA18. Periodically the plugin will not be enabled, but clicking on the tick button in the Plugins tab of the Preferences dialog enables it. Do you have any advice on how I can troubleshoot this? Anecdotally, it appears that this happens when FileMaker Server is restarted, but I have not been able to verify this. Thanks in advance.

I have FTPeek deployed in a multi-user environment where it's been working for some time, their current license is up to v2, but some users still use v1. On a new Windows machine running FM 18 and FTPeek v2, we are getting a unique problem - when the script is run by the user and gets to the FTP step, it just stops, the user sees a white screen, with the hourglass, and it never changes. If she presses Escape, the script stops, the window can be closed, but Filemaker stops responding and eventually will need to be force quit. If I run the script with script debugger on the users' computer, it steps through each step with no error. But every time it runs on its own, it stop…

GetFile info produces ERROR for a remote filename which exists on the server when using the "moddate" option. When using FTPeek_LastError the error description is: File "/private/afbeeldingen/9503267478663_1.bmp" does not exist on server! But when i change the "moddate" InfoType to "size" the Plug-in returns the correct number of bytes. Using FM pro 19.2.1.14 on OSX Big Sur 11.1. with plugin version: V3.0 Whats wrong here?

Hi, I have FM file converter that converts excel files into two csv files that needs to be uploaded. Ideally i want to leave it in the background, i know how to upload a specific file to ftp, but can't figure out what i need to do so it scans the folder and only uploads new files in that folder? Any help/tips appreciated.

We have a solution that uploads a text file to an FTP site and then checks for any text files for download. The process has run great on macOS for a number years. Unfortunately, we were running this process as a robot on an older Mac Mini and are no longer able to update the macOS beyond High Sierra. As a result, we moved the process to a Windows OS machine so that we could run FileMaker Pro 19. We had been running without issue for about two weeks, but began encountering this error today. I downloaded a fresh copy from the 360Works download page to ensure we are running the latest version. I also downloaded a fresh copy of the JRE 1.8.0_152 and replaced the existing…

UPDATE: I was using the wrong path. My bad. It works. Doesn't move but copies so I then delete it after moving. I'm trying to move a file that is in the Root (so the path is just the file name) to a folder in Root called "Moved". When I use FTPEEK_Rename with (" filename.pdf";"/Moved/filename.pdf") it deletes the file and it never appears in Moved. I tried this and (" filename.pdf";"Moved/filename.pdf") and same thing. Any suggestions? Using FMP 19 on MacOS 10.14

I have successfully captured the list of files on the remote server. I loop thru them and can grab the moddate and then download the files successfully. But one file, even through it successfullly provides the moddate and downloads, it errors when using getfileinfo "file info" to the the file's size. I use the FTPeek_SetErrorCapture to keep from hanging on the error. But it says the file doesn't exist but yet the step finds the moddate and then successfuilly downloads it. The file does exist but what causes the error? This is one file out of 41 files. It doesn't appear to be any different, other than name. Using FTPPeek version Version 2.3 and FMP 18.0.3.317 and r…

I have been able to download files to a local directory. But I can't seem to have it download to a mounted directory. Is there a path syntax for a mounted volume? I've tried "filemac://Volumes/ShareName/FirstFolder/File.txt" and "/Volumes/ShareName/FirstFolder/File.txt" and "filemac://ShareName/FirstFolder/File.txt" and "/ShareName/FirstFolder/File.txt" ------- all generate an error. Hi all, I have registered version (Workgroup License) of plugin and it is used on Windows Server 2012R2. Everything works perfect instead of function "FTPeek_ChooseFile". Sometimes it works but more often not. When it fails, it shows message "java.lang.InternalError: couldn't create component peer". Attached error message. It fails if on both parameters, "files" and "directories" FTPeek_ChooseFile("";"directories";"Choose a file to upload") FTPeek_ChooseFile("";"files";"Choose a file to upload") Can someone send me advise how to solve it? Thank you in advance, Veselko

My users like using a FTP client as they can upload files "in the background" and keep working in FM. When I want them to upload the files straight through FM, I get compliance issues because of this (files could be 500Mb). If the file is already on the FMS I do PSoS, but when it's on the client desktop using FM will block them from working in FM during upload. Is there a good way to achieve uploading from the client in the background, without blocking FM?

I tried using this function to keep the connection active, but it seems it still gives me "1" even when the FTP server has disconnected. If I connect, then use this to check every 30s, then leave it for 10 minutes or so and then try uploading/downloading a file I get error as if I am no longer connected. Is it actually checking with the FTP server? If not using this function, any suggestions on how to keep the connection active (we are talking minutes, not hours)?

Hi, In command line, and using FileZilla, I can connect to SFTP by using username, server IP and a private key (.pem). In FTPeek v. 1.67, it seems that the public key is also required - I'm not sure about the password. How come? Is there a particular reason for this? Is there a proper procedure for connection using a private key file? Is there a list of the supported private key file types/formats? /David

Scratching my head on this one. I'm running a server side script that uploads hundreds of .jpg files to a remote ftp server. For some of .jpgs files, the upload just fails. I'm using a calculated file path reference, but have hard coded it to confirm it's not a reference error. I've check the 360 log file and there's no error message recorded. On the remote ftp server, the connection eventually times out due to my script trying to upload a long list of .jpg files (all of which fail). Any thoughts on why the upload would file are welcome.

On our FileMaker 14 Server I have installed the FTPeek plug-in. I am using this plug-in in a server side script to upload pictures to our webserver. At first we got a huge log file in Program Files\FileMaker\FileMaker Server\Log\360Plugin Logs (up to 70GB in 24 hours !!). So I modified the logging.properties file as suggested in http://docs.360works.com/index.php/Plugin_log_files#Logging_Level and added 'com.prosc.level= OFF'. I also restarted the fmse and even the server itself. But surprisingly the log file still contains lots of INFO messages like: INFO : C++ Handling a child response CodeToParent::is_empty Jul 10, 2017 03:30:24 PM C++ <Unknown> INF…

On two Filemaker Server machines I manage, I cannot get FTPeek to activate. After checking the checkbox, a grey message appears appears stating that the plugin was enabled, but the checkbox is unchecked. I have checked the permissions of the plugins. Both owned by fmserver and group fmsadmin. I have restarted the machines. I have tried Wim's suggestion of installing with server-side script. Both have Java 1.6 installed. Both have the BaseElements plugin installed and successfully enabled. Both are running FMS 14.04. One is a Mac mini running Yosemite, with Core 2 Duo processor and 8gb. Other is a Mac mini running El Capitan with Core 2 Duo and 4gb.

Hi, Does anyone know if FTPeek supports SSH Key Pair Files or in any way? We have built a system using FTPeek to upload and download data to a 3rd party SFTP site, all working great, except the 3rd party now want us to setup an SSH Key Pair and provide them the public key, and control the security from our side, but I am unable to get FTPeek to connect without errors. Has anyone done this? Many thanks for any help that you can provide. -- Orlando

Any thoughts on why FTPeek is downloading empty files. First attempt at downloading - have functioning upload code - but something is breaking. I can login to the FTP server, I can query the remote directory and get a list of files there but when I download I get a file with the right name but no content. eg. I can ask "www.wonfuji.net/download" for a file list using FTPeek_GetFileList. I can parse the list to get a file name. But when I use FTPeek_DownloadFile("www.wonfuji.net/download/1234.csv"; $Desktop) I get the correctly named file but it has no data in it. Just ERROR, even though a file is created. Stephen

Using FileZilla, it took 59 seconds (which already is bad enough, but I don't have a good upload speed where I'm testing this, and neither do…

Hi, I'm having a new FTPeek error using FileMaker 13 that I did not have when we were using FMP 11 last week. The above starts the upload dialog but it hangs till it gets this error. If I log in with my FTP client using same credentials and drag the fuel into the directory it works fine. So I am not sure where to even go from here. This is the 1st time connecting to this FTP account. But I do use FTPPeek all the time and have not run into this before. One thing different is this directory is almost always going to be empty because it is swept by some FTP function almost immediately and moved somewhere else. I did however FT…

I am having issues in installing ALL 360works plugins on Filemaker 13 server. I am trying to install a current download of the portfolio licenses so that all will be there should I need them. In one case, FTPeek, I need it right now and so this is why I am posting here. In all cases I am getting the following message. ERROR enabling 360Works_FTPeek.fmplugin pluginnFMSError=NoSubscriber. Furthermore, server always says "Not Loaded" in the Plug-in name column and I cannot save. Please see the screen shot attached.

We are using FTPeek 1.642 on our FileMaker Server (12.0.4.405) to transfer files to a sftp server. It works well most of the time. Every once in a while, however, we get an error message that seems to imply that the public key function did not work correctly. This message reads: ========= Export to [...] failed: Couldn't connect to sftp server - java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Public key: ERROR is not a valid key, make sure FTPeek_GetPublicKey() function is not returning ERROR ========== Why does this happen? Is there a way to correct for it? (Further possibly valuable info: Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, Java 1.7.0_17b02)

Greetings all, I have a brand new server install as follows... Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter, SP1, 64 Bit Filemaker Server 13.0.1, 64 bit install (32 bit unavailable under 64 bit OS, as I understand it) FTPeek with Enterprise license Java (as 32 and 64 bit installs) The FTPeek plugin is reported to require Java 1.5 or greater, 32 bit. Installing Java 32 bit, cripples the FMS Admin console, both on the server itself, and thru remote access, both of which worked under 64 bit Java. Reverting back to 64 bit Java fixes the admin console access, but won't allow the plugin to load. It seems the plugin is severely limited in it's usefullness, unless the…

I have the latest version of FTPeek (1.642) installed on windows with filemaker 12 and 13. Whenever I go to edit --> Preferences --> Plugins and try to enter the registration details, filemaker crashes. I was using an old version of java and have updated to the latest one. It still crashes on both Filemaker 12 and 13 on windows 8.1 The script steps also aren't working to save the registration details, however I do get a successful (1) result from the script Filemaker crashing periodically with the plugin installed. Please assist.

It seems that, when you download a PDF to a container field using FTPeek, the resulting field data conforms to the behavior of the native "Insert file", which means that the container field will just display the file icon, but not the actual PDF the way you get if you use "Insert picture" or "Insert PDF" and an interactive container field. So far I've tested this in FMPA 12.0v5 on OS X 10.8.5, but I would expect this behavior to be the same across platforms/versions. This obviously makes the use of FTPeek a lot less interesting when you do need to display interactive content. Does anyone know of a way to make this work? Could FTPeek be modified to integrate this …

I just noticed that a downloads with FTPeek seem to be significantly faster on Windows than on the Mac - even though I'm testing this while running Windows 7 under Parallels on the same Mac I use for testing. In one of my tests, downloading 50 files took 2:37 on Windows and 4:56 on the Mac. The same downloads done using Insert from URL took 4:44 on Windows and 5:05 on the Mac. I consistently got very similar numbers in multiple tests with different sets of files to download (all from the same FTP serve though). Has anybody else noticed this/does someone have an explanation?

I have updated a test machine to Mavericks this morning to check for any compatibility problems. One issue I have found is that Filemaker Pro and Filemaker Pro Advanced 12.0.5 will not launch under Mavericks if FTPeek is in the extensions folder. Filemaker presents the dialog saying that a Java SE 6 runtime is needed. The machine in question already has Java 1.7_45 installed. If I remove the FTPeek plugin from the Extensions folder, (a restart is required after this if you've already tried to launch Filemaker as Filemaker claims it has been modified otherwise), then Filemaker launches fine on Mavericks. I have the latest version of FTPeek (1.641).

Just updated W2K8 server to FMS 12v2 and java to 1.7 and now the plugin will not enable. "Failure to load" plugin is reported in the FMS logs. Downloaded the newest version of the plugin (1.6.3) - still the same issue. Deleted all java temp files, disabled java 1.7 from the control panel (still has 1.6.29 and 33) - still the same issue Rebooted the machine and restarted FMS a few times, no joy. Any ideas?

I'm having trouble registering the FTPeek plugin via a startup script. The database is on a FileMaker 11 server, startup script will run an autoupdate script to check for and install the plugin. Then run the register function to register the plugin. Register will succeed and return a 1, however when I check the license with FTPeek_LicenseInfo it says it is "unlicensed" If I manually register the client plugin on the end user workstation, it's fine. Even if I delete the license info in the configure plugin in the client after that, and it goes back to demo mode, the startup scrip will correctly register the plugin. On the clients that don't work, if you look at the plu…

I've tried to do this using the Sample Client file that comes with FTPeek but cannot get the file path correct for our SuperContainer location which is in the Shared folder on our FMS MacPro. Will this only work if the Sample Client file is also hosted by FMS? Please help!

Hello, I have working code that uploads files to an FTP server using FTPeek 1.61 and FM Pro Advanced 10. It also works with FM Pro Advanced 11. I'd like to switch to using an SFTP server, so I added the necessary lines to get the public key and connect to the sftp server. Unfortunately, the FTPeek_UploadFile command that works fine with the FTP server isn't working with the SFTP server. When called, the progress bar appears and stays stuck at 0%. The CPU load for Filemaker goes to 99%. A check of the SFTP servers shows that the file has been created, but is 0 bytes in length, with a date of Dec 31st, 69. From OS X's terminal I'm able to sftp into…

There are a couple of threads on here directly related to FTPeek not working with the latest version of Java. It appears the issue is related to how Java works with Windows: http://fmforums.com/forum/topic/84735-connection-reset/ What I am wondering is if there is going to be a fix for this? I have multiple users getting Java update notices - though informed to not update - some do, then the process of unstallation and reinstallation of Java with all of the associated "end user frustration". So what I guess I am wondering: will there be an update to FTPeek to fix this? Are there specific instructions someplace as to a workaround (I understand it being a …

Hello! I have a new OSX Server and my server side script that uploads via FTPeek has stopped working. I have isolated the script step down to the actual ftpeek_upload function step. The script works when running from filemaker pro as it uses the get(documentspath) for a path. I seem to recall some type of OS tweaking that needs to be done to allow FTPeek to work but am now sure that is the issue.

I'm trying to find the best way to check if the FTPeek plugin (v1.6.1) is registered already, otherwise my script will register it. Looking at the demo file it checks for: Position( FTPeek_LicenseInfo; "*UNLICENSED*"; 1; 1 ) > 0 however this appears to not work as an unregistered plugin returns: 360Works FTPeek v1.61 Major Version: 1 Type: Demo version Registered To: null Expires on: May 9, 2012 12:59:35 PM I'm presuming I can simply check for "Registered To: null" unless there's other options I need to check for?

Hi, I would like to use FTPeek to upload several files at a time to an FTP Server of a business partner. I can drag and drop the files to upload to the server using Filezillia with there settings including sftp-ssh file transfer protocol with no key, logon type normal, no port set, a host ip address, and a user name and password. Since I am collecting the files to upload to one using Filemaker I would prefer to program the upload using Filemaker. Can I use FTPeek_ConnectSFTP without a public key as they don't appear to require one since none is set in Filezillia and the business partner provided none. Thank you in advance Rich

Hi, we're using FTPPeek in a runtime (WIN and MAC). Users upload their media to our server. A lot of files are 50-100MB. For some clients everything works perfectly, for a lot of others it does not. Now I'm trying to improve the upload script to make thing work for everybody. So I have included a loop: if an upload fails, the script will try again up to three times, in case of an error I have also included a disconnect followed by a new connect. So far so good. Nevertheless I still receive upload errors, generated via FTPeek_LastError. After the upload directory was created and smaller files were uploaded successfully: first larger file: Read ti…
