Hi there everyone, I saw a database deployed using the PHP site assistant onto an iPhone. It utilized a css file designed for the iphone so that a user didn't have to zoom in. Does anyone know if this file is or asome other css file designed for the iphone is downloadable somewhere?

Hello I am having trouble getting the post from Paypal to add a database record. I can get the post to work fine when done from my site but it won't work from Paypal. Return URL Method POST Silent Post URL enabled Force Silent Post Confirmation is ON I have tried adding :443 to the URL since it is posting back to a secured page. It doesn't work either way. I get this error: "Your transaction was approved! However, a communication error with the merchant's site occured. The transaction has been voided, please contact the merchant." Hi. I'm new to FileMaker on the web and is searching for a FileMaker solution for the following problem. I have a simple FileMaker database that stores members of an non-profit organization. There is also a web site and there is a simple html form to register new members. That registration is currently sent as an email and typed into the database. The database is on a local FM7 client. All of us at one time or another have gone to a web site, navigated to different pages and then decided to join and get user access. So you click a "sign me up" button where you enter your user name and password and that gives you access to other pages or resources that are only available to members. How do you set up the "sign me up part" using Filemaker and probably PHP? I would want the following. User Name User Name 2 (to make sure it matches the user name that was first entered). When i use the filemaker PHP Site Assistant, i can't select site profile. I can select Database Settings and Layout Group but when i choose a site Profile nothing happens. I'm running Server 9.0 (not Advanced) on two machines with web server and web puplishing engine on one machine and Database server on another, both on Mac os 10.4.10. I have tried to talk to filemaker support, are there anyone who has similar problem or know if there is a bug?

Whatever what type of site we make, the file fmview required Date.php, which is not created in the process and does not exist, so the site displays an error at the beginning... First, can our customers access a Web hosted Filemaker solution if you do not have a copy of Filemaker? I'm trying to get all of this straight in my head. I can't find anything on creating 'Dynamic Fields Names' using XSL, but I thought I had seen something once. Does anyone know how to get values from fields that are named dynamically using XSL. I'm having a heck of a time with the PHP Site Assistant and could really use some guidance. Running FM9 Server on a Windows 2003 server. No problem or errors in installing FM9 Server. PHP test succeeded. When I run the PHP Assistant, I can't access my db. The file has a user account with full priviledges (incl FMPHP). I have no problem logging in to the file via FM9. When I run the Site Assistant, I can log into the server fine and I see my databases. But I can't open the database with the correct account name and password. I keep getting "Invalid Login Name or Password" error. I've involved FM support and they haven't been able to solve the issue.…

Has anyone come up with a solution for adding images to filemaker databases using PHP?

Can someone tell us what we are doing wrong here. Cannot get the scriptparameter to pass from php to filemaker. The code seems so simple...using php5, server 8v4. Here is the script: go to layout (layout name) new record/request set field (field_name; get(Scriptparameter)) Here is the php code: $scriptcommand=&$fm->newperformscriptcommand('layout_name', 'script_name','script_param'); The script executes with no errors but the parameter always comes up empty in filemaker. Is there any permission/setting that would not allow filemaker to receive script parameters?

I have a data driven website connected to a FileMaker Pro 8.5 database. In my webform, I have a few dropdowns and textboxes. The problem is that there are lots of empty fields in the database, so no matter what the user is going to enter, the search is not returning any data. So with one NULL in the queryString, no data will be returned. Does anybody know the syntax of how to handle NULLs in a queryString? I know in Oracle there's the NVL function: NVL(value,NULL) it returns "value" and SQL Server it's ISNULL(value,null), it returns "value". I'm not sure what's FileMaker's syntax...I tried both and of course didn't work... any help would be really really app…

I installed a PHP 5.2.3 and Filemaker Pro Advanced v8.04 all in 1 box w/windowws 2003 server. On the product catalog sample I'm getting the following message: Communication error 22 - The requested URL returned error 400 I tried this http://192.168.1.40/fmi/xml/version.xml and the response I get is According to to Filemaker Advanced Error Codes: 954 Unsupported XML grammar I tried both IIS and Apache 2, both same problem except for Apache generates HTTP error 404 instead of 400. Hi all, I am just wondering if FileMaker Server 9 supports the PHP API? Do I still need FileMaker Server 9 Advanced for this to work or will FM Server 9 be sufficient? hello, im building a database for my courier business, and would like to be able to update the order status from a cellphone/pocket pc with wifi/or blackberry. I currently have a db of about 6000 teachers who are in a statewide program. I also webmaster a static html website which contains contact info, resources, etc. All of this is on a Windows IIS server with WinServ2003, and FMSA7. Hi I'm new to this part of Filemaker and I have a question. I know that FileMaker has limits on the number of clients on an FMP server at one time. I think the number is 250 if I remember correctly. Do the same kinds of limits apply to a web interface using Lasso or PHP? We would be talking upwards of 4000 plus. Thanks for your help, James

Hi- I'm working on migrating web sites to an updated server and one of the sites we have runs the FileMaker 6 web publishing engine on Windows Server 2000. We want to move the website to a Windows 2003 server, but supposedly there will be an incompatibility issue with that. I haven't been able to find any information on the subject - does anybody know if it is possible to run the Filemaker 6 engine on Windows Server 2003 without upgrading? Hi! I'm doing a simple search and display using PHP and Filemaker. One challenge I have is that carriage returns entered in the Filemaker field is not showing up in the browser. I can detect characters like tabs (t) but not the newline character. I have tried nl2br, preg_replace( '/rn/', " ", $record->getField("description") ) with no success. Any advise? Is there a simple way to hide the search string in the in address bar? Sometimes the results page show the long string whereas sometimes it simply shows FMPro. I'd like to mask my implementation if possible.

Now that Apple has stated Safari will be the vehicle for iPhone web applications. What does this mean for FileMaker Pro? Will I be able to access my office database LIVE from my iPhone internet connection? And how many hours will I need to pay my developer to build the functionality in to my database? Ouch. I just published my FM database and I have major problems! Buttons dont work, layouts lose colour, drop down boxes are viewing half of the display. Im viewing in safari and firefox! anything I should know?

HI I realise this is a really basic question but the answer is not really obvious to me. I have been using filemaker 4 with web pages and cdml. I created the webpages in dreamweaver then uploaded to the server. I have now migrated to 8.5 and 8 server advanced. BIG learning curve! I have set this all up on a single server. My question now is to create the phpwebpages do I actually have to do this on the server? I have dreamweaver set up on my computer with fmstudio but when I go to create the webpages or site, it does not install the api for php files when I ask it to.

(Edited: see my post below) This puts today's date in a format used by by database and then uses it to run a search that displays on the the home page. This works fine on Mac with Firefox and Camino, and on Windows with IE and Firefox, but it DOES NOT work on a Mac with Safari or IE! Has anyone had similar problems? Is Safari looking for Javascript in a different format than above? Any help greatly appreciated, as this site is live and I'm pulling my hair out! Best, RR

I'm tinkering with the idea of doing a very scaled-down version of my database for mobile devices. I'm curious if there's a function that will allow me to know whether the computer that is accessing the database is a web-client. If it is, then it will have a seperate layout, etc. I tried get(application version), but it seems to return the result of my client software (ProAdvanced 8.5v2) even when I view it on the web (it's a calc field). I was thinking using the screen size get() functions, but I thought there was something that might make more sense.

Hello all -- I have a dynamically created homepage loader (thanks again Garry) that contains on body onload command to run a search when users navigate to my site's default page. The results are then displayed on the true homepage. Of course this is transparent to users, so I'm afraid they may bookmark the true homepage and when they later enter the site from the shortcut the search will not be run by the loader and the page will not be "fresh". I'm wondering if anyone has any idea to help circumvent this?

I've currently running Filemaker server and I've put several image databases online. The images are located in the apache webserver folder. The problem is that these image folders are getting too big and I have no room left on the harddisk of the server. I came up with what I tought was a simple solution... but it didn't work.... I've attached an external disk, put the hires on there and put an alias to the file in the webserver folder. But when I surf to the sites the images don't appear. Does anyone have a solution so that I can use this external drive.... thanx

A client of mine who is currently using a Filemaker databse is getting ready to make a new website. Their service is hospitality, I guess, since they work with caterers and wedding planners. In the new site, they want to use photos of all of their tablecloths and other table arrangements, so that the caterers and planners can order online. I am using FMPro 8 Server hosting my company's database. It is being installed in a server in my company. The port 5003 has already opened so that I can remote open the database outside of my company's LAN. The problem is that the startup of the database is very slow. But it show up very fast when I am connecting on the LAN of my company. At the same time, I have also enabled the IWP. Strangely, when I am connecting to the same database in the browser, the startup time become normal again (outside of my company).... Any comment or advice on this issue ? Thanks a lot

I have posted a database to a host using Filemaker Advanced. One person, my boss of course, is unable to log in as a guest or otherwise. he goes to the log in page, tries to log in and only gets the log in page again, over and over. he is on a PC using Windows XP and Explorer. Any ideas? Dan

Hi I think it is about time I upgraded all my databases. I am currently running FMP4.3 and serving webpages with data as well as collecting data that clients entervia a webpage. I was given Filemaker 7 but found I could not create my own webpages and that no more then 5 people could enter data via the web page even if I used IWP (mind you I read this but did not test it out). What should I migrate too? I want to create my own webpages and have multiple people at a time enter data via webpages. Or can IWP design be used successfully with careful planning? Glenda

Hi there, I have just been trying to set up FMSA 8 on a Windows 2003 server using Apache. When trying to open http://localhost/fmi/config I get "Service temporarily unavailable" with an 503 HTTP error. I can't (and don't want to) set up FMSA on this machine using IIS because the server is a virtual private server running at a reseller's location with multiple virtual hosts installed by default with IIS. It took me quite a few hours to get the installing routine of FMSA start running by twirking several virtual directories of IIS. I set up Apache according to FMWebSchool's step by step howto. I have written a task management application for my cabinetshop. I would like to be able to communicate with the shop from my home or from a jobsite. This sounds like something that should be able to happen with a web based platform. Do I need to involve a Filemaker Server software to make this happen? Is there a way to use a URL to a FTP site with a username and password in the URL from Filemaker? I can put the URL in the Firefox or Explorer and it works fine. When I try to use the same URL from Filemaker 8.5 or IWP it does not work and what shows up in the Browser is the URL without the Username and password. I wish to create a fairly modest (in size) online reference manual for a department's internal procedures, using FileMaker as the main source of information, and probably use CWP with PHP, although I haven't completely ruled out IWP. I'm thinking that some sort of pre-defined hierarchy (drill down on topics) supplemented by html cross-reference links as well as FM searches (some with value list choices, if possible), and of course FM for the main repository of data. Hi, I want to make a custom search page that links back to Filemaker on my PC at home. I'll make it clear that I don not want to use Filemaker Server. (at least not for now). I know of a website that is currently using a custom template to access their database (about 20,000 pages).[color:red]HERE IS THE LINK (select CHINA on the left column for a good example). I have read and read and digested the pdf 'Web Publishing Setup Guide'. How do i go about having a bunch of web servers IIS connected to my single filemaker server adv. box ? I tried installing the Web Publishing Engine tool on each of my web server and configured WPE to point to my FMS but I get an error saying my FMS is licensed for only 1 WPE connection. Is there a way around this other then to purchase additional licenses?? Basically I have a distributed web farm and 1 FMS Adv. 8 that I want all web servers to be able to connect and serve data.

Is it possible to edit a record without using a hidden form field to specify which record should be edited? I can't use hidden form fields because someone could save and edit the source and edit a different record. And I can't use a restricted custom access privilege set to prevent that, because I can't use Filemaker internal authentication (because I am not allowed to email passwords), and can't use Filemaker external authentication (because at Stanford it's not possible to use ldap groups). We have a database with fields that contain url data. This data is displayed dynamically as links on our site. The question is: Can we (through a plugin or other means) test the url to see if it is live or changed. Then we would want to flag it and alert the owner of the record that the link is no longer valid.

Here's the situation. I have FM 8.5 advanced running on a server inside the company network. I want to give 2 users the ability to connect from outside the network to the database but, would rather they open filemaker and click remote than do IWP. I've been trying to find a way to print a JPEG from my IWP site. The image is 8.5 x 11. I can get it to print but it won't print actual size. I was thinking maybe I could save the image as a PDF and then open it through the web site but haven't been able to figure that one out yet. Any Ideas? Thanks, Mel

I need to use port 8080 instead of port 80. I changed ports in the OS X webserver httpd.conf file and now when I try to access filemaker using the php api I get the following error: Error: Unknown error Message: Communication Error: (22) The requested URL returned error: 404 IWP works fine. Hi, This is for an IWP solution. I will be uploading my DB to a hosted server at Point In Space. I want to run my project in the separation model so all I have to do is upgrade the UI file (thank you for the advice Forum Guuru's!). My question is this, when I upload the two files how do I determine the file path between the UI file and the 'Master' file? Recently we moved FM7 Pro to a new Mac mini, and we cannot get the Instant Web Publishing to work, at all, this non-descript error message comes up when I click the on radio button: "FileMaker cannot share files over the Web because Instant Web Publishing could not be started." Have tried everything I could think of, re-installed everything, fiddled with the Sharing and Network settings in System Preferences, thinking it could be firewall or port related. I currently run FM unltd 5.5 for custom web publishing using CDML. I bought FM Serv.7 Adv. but was so intimidated by the XSLT stuff I never deployed it. Besides a pro told me it had security and stability problems. On his advice I upgraded to ServerAdv 8. I am a psych prof, not an IT person, and my solutions are generally simple, but not simple ebough for instant web publishing. Should I go the XSLT route or the PHP route to create my web interfaces?

Here's a brain hernia to wind up my year, so if you have an answer to solve it you'd make my year: I created a run-time solution for a client who's accessing it through a virtual network on his server (VPN, run on Linux) so he can access it remotely. The problem is, even though his monitor's screen resolution is set to 1024x768 (the native resolution the solution was created in on my computer), the screens look awful and contracted, cutting out fields and making the fonts look...well...fugly, as if it were reset to 800x600. We are using FMP 7 thru web publishing but some fieds are missing in FIND MODE. For example, the BUILDING NAME field is showing up but no COMPANY NAME field. We are new to FMP 7 as we have been using FMP 4.0 & 4.1. Is there a preference setting we are missing ?

Is it possible to get the entire text of the returned web page into another field? If so, I would work on parsing out the address, phone, etc., into their own separate fields. I've got an odd problem, with a teacher report card layout. Works fine when accessed via FMP, but when they access the same layout via the Web interface, any grade with a plus at the end (M+, E+) gets the plus sign deleted when the record is saved. e.g., a teacher can enter a student's grades via the web interface as E M+ M- E+ S+ and when the record is committed, the values become E M M- E S -- the minus signs stay; just the plus signs disappear. And any grades previously entered via FMP which have plusses on them get "downgraded" to just the lettergrade w/o a plus. Each grade field is its own field, not a field with repetition The …

I have a message pad solution that I developed in FileMaker and I would like to make it accessible via the web. The solution is not very complex, it keeps track of scheduling as well as provides the ability to send messages (currently over a network) to other staffers. Can something like FX.php, or even the new API handle this? Currently their would be 12 users. I have seen fmstudio's post. Has anyone worked with fmstudio to build a website?
