6 users will login -Remote -FM11- and will send and track email- via SMTP Server I want to set up the following: Users log into a database via remote. Users will select a group of 'people' or 'companies' and send personalized multiple emails to many individuals. I want these emails tracked in a line item table as well as emailed from within Filemaker 11 and send via SMTP Server. Files will be attached that will either reside on the server or users desktops. I purchased the 360Works Email plugin on the 12/6/2013 and it worked as it should. After updating Java yesterday (4/7/2013) FMPA would not open. I tried everything eventually I took out the 360Works Email plugin and FMP opened as it should. I an working with Windows7. I have clients that are using the email plugin and I will need answers to this problem. Not Happy!

When we reply to people whose email is in the format: LastName, Firstname<[email protected]> (has a comma), the function EmailLastError returns "Invalid Address". I guess we can strip it out, but why does that need to be invalid?

Hi, I am trying to connect to a exchange-server using IMAP with: EmailConnectIMAP ( "exchange.server:993" ; "user" ; "*****" ; "ssl=1" ) and the connection fails with this error: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target how do I solve this .... regular emailclients connect to this server without any trouble (same account-settings), so I'm pretty sure I should solve this on the Filemaker-/Plugin-side .... only I don't know how. regards, Menno

Hello, I'm trying to set up the Email Plugin with an Exchange Server. I'm able to connect via IMAP, but not able to make an SMTP connection. I've added the "ssl=1" parameter (the server administrator says it is using TLS encryption), and have specified the port in the server address. When using all the same settings in an email client, I am able to connect. Is there something I'm missing? Will this not work with Exchange? Thanks, Lauren

I am using the plugin to send HTML emails, with a plain text version, and it works great. However I checked the headers of the mail messages and there is something wrong. I am connecting to the SMTP server with: EmailConnectSMTP( "mail.mouthulcers.co.uk" ) However in the mail header I see Received-SPF: fail (mail5.ukisp.com: SPF record at mouthulcers.co.uk does not designate 62.105.160.41 as permitted sender) In this case mail5.ukisp.com and 62.105.160.41 are the host and IP of the SMTP server associated with the email address to which the message was sent, not the one for mail.mouthulcers.co.uk which is 80.175.48.51 The EmailConnect is returning succe…

It looks like the plugin once loaded will stop all server scripts from working. crashing the server script engine with an unknown error. once the plugin is removed the scripts will work again (bar the functionality the plugin provides) is there a fix for this as its urgent? Thanks

Hi - I'm very new to the Email Plugin and have downloaded the demo and just today went a head and purchased the licenses. My question is - Is it necessary to call EmailRegister step? - It seems to be working without it. - Also I'm assuming if I'm sending many emails I can call EmailConnectSMTP at the top of the loop, Create, setBody and Send in the loop and Email Disconnect after I'm out of the loop - Is this correct? Hi just try to open the sample file come with the plugin and noted that the IMAP server setting can generate an error looks like "Could not locaate messageId <CAOQ ...... gmail.com> in mailbox InBOx. My company is evaluating the plugin to see if it works for simple e-mail reading and saving, but we are having trouble with accessing a Gmail account using the EmailConnectIMAP call. I copied the implementation from the 360Works example file, and modified it only slightly to change the names of the layouts that display e-mail and allow for input of server settings, but no matter what we try, the plugin will not connect to the Gmail IMAP servers. I'm having an issue whith filename and the Email plugin. In some cases, I get a file name that looks strange. I think it happens if the e-mail is from Outlook, but I'm not sure at 110%. I have a script using 360 Works Email. I repeatedly replace recipients in the TO line with success, until it comes to making the recipient the same as the sender in the FROM line from the original EmailCreate call. Then the email fails with various errors messages (or no error message). Is using the same address in both FROM and TO disallowed? Or is there some change I should make? Thanks. We have the license for 360 Works. Email is handled by Exchange. There are specific emails that will need to be saved within our FM solution. We are running FM12. With Thundermird I can drag n drop an email into a container field then export field contents and see the entire email. With Outlook I only receive the email header. Hi... I have setup a Send Email script (basically from your sample database) and am having strange results when sending from 2 different computers. If I send from the computer hosting FileMaker (as a client) the plug in sends fine using email addresses from within the SMTP domain. eg. [email protected] and external email addresses. If I send the same email from another computer it returns an error that the email address is incorrect, but only when I use an external email address. Internal addresses are sent and received fine. Is this perhaps a problem with the SMTP server settings?

Hi... At times I am getting an error appearing which doesn't seem to really be an error. The error message returned is: Connected to SMTP server mail.mydomain.com.au This does not happen all of the time. When looking at the script it appears to set the _result as an error. Why would it be doing this?

Is there an easy way to use the plug in to track if a response was received to an email sent using the plugin?

When trying to put the contents of an HTML email into a field or variable or something like that for the Email Body, inevitably the HTML code is going to contain quotation marks that will confuse Filemaker into looking for operators that actually aren't needed. Is there an easy way to handle this or do I have to go through the HTML and markup each occurrence of a quotation mark with a backslash or forward slash (I don't remember exactly how). Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I need to receive e-mails with an POP account that use a "starttls" authentication but it does not work after many tests in conformity with the documentation. Hi there I'm getting this error when trying to send an email using the plugin. I'm successfully connecting to the smtp server, so I'm guessing that means the credentials I've passed are ok, but when I try to actually send the email I get the above error. The email accounts are on a hosted Exchange Server, if that makes any difference. Can anybody shed any light on this for me? Much appreciated.

I use 360Works Email plugin to archive emails (order confirmations that are sent in bcc to a special address). Currently I just save the html content to a html file. They can be later opened in a webviewer or in external browser. However the mails now contain individual images that get lost in that way. Is there a way to save the whole email in a format like eml that can then be opened in an email client like thunderbird or outlook? Regards, markus

When we send mail from FileMaker database using this Plug-In, the message doesn't exist in the Sent Folder in our regular email account (we use Google Apps for most mail). If we send a message via iPhone, it does show up as Sent mail in our regular email account. I'm not trying to match an iPhone, just wondering it would be an option to have messages that are sent via our FileMaker database show up in our Sent folder in our other/regular email accounts?

Hi - I'm experimenting with the Email Plugin to see if it would work for us. Using the Plugin, when I view an email with an attachment, where the attachment name would be it says, "Not Downloaded:211206~1.pdf". When I click that, it displays an alert that says, "Could not locate messageID <B0003996844@vljcms00> in mailbox INBOX. Maybe this message was deleted?" In the "Attachments" table, there are no records yet. When I view the Inbox the old way, this message is still there -- has not been deleted. Why would it think the message was deleted or how can I view the attachments?

I've been using this plug in for a few years now for plain text emails and want to start getting in to html emailing. I've played around with adding a background colour , and embedding images and got that working ok , but I would now like to display multiple records in a table and get them into a table in my html email and was wondering if anyone had some examples of this that I could take a look at. Hello, I have integrated the email plugin with my solution and the email fetching was working great, but now I don't seem to be able to fetch my most recent emails... I am accessing a gmail account via imap and the message browse portal is definitely set to date order descending (newest first) Any ideas anyone? Also what's the significance of telling the fetch script how many messages to fetch? as it now appears to have fetched more messages than there are in my inbox, according to gmail's count of the messages in my inbox.

I have two separated databases on the server each have a script for the server to fetch email from IMAP with their own account. Our goal is to have nearly up to the minute results so Database A and B I have the scripts fire off at 1 and 2 minutes respectively however occasionally i get errors where one or both scripts time out. And this is concerning as Script B isn't fetching any results yet because we haven't launched that email out, once we do and there is any measurable volume they may impact the process. Hello, I can't find this issue elsewhere in the forum, so here goes... Does anyone have experience of dealing with winmail.dat attachments? I gather these are sometimes sent by Outlook and wrap around the file that you actually wanted to attach. So EG If you sent a .docx file from outlook, it may well be sent inside a winmail.dat file. I believe that most email clients (eg Apple Mail and Thunderbird) have 'decoders' to re-convert these .dat files back to their original. Hi, We have just upgraded our FileMaker system and currently are using Pro 11 with Pro Server running the show. We can personalise emails sent from FileMaker to our customers using shortcodes. But it only seems to work when we send a small amount of total emails, a dozen or so. When we sent a newsletter to our entire database (7000+) the emails got sent but the personalisation did not work and left us with the emails starting… "Dear ". Has anyone come across this issue? My customer receives a complete html file from his mrktg dept with links to graphics that are hosted. I'd like to build him an interface to use this html file as the body for an email blast. I see that the EmailSetBodyFile function expects a url to the file (not a path or a container field name). In keeping with the current design, we'll have a queued/approved blast record that will be processed by a server script. The server finds this record, goes to related member records, and loops, creating activity records that serve as the data source for the email that is sent. We've switched over to using Office365 for our e-mail service, it's basically a hosted exchange service. Ever since then, I cannot get the plugin to connect to any of our e-mail boxes. It always fails on EmailConnectPOP, which I have the correct information for. Does anyone have any other experience working with the plugin in an exchange environment and run into this? Or any other tips?

It appears there is an issue sending messages using the plugin with some OS X. The EmailConnect works fine as do many of the other functions. But the EmailSend function returns the "Invalid Address(es)" error. The stack trace shows the following exception: SMTPAddressFailedException: 504 5.5.2 <10.0.1.13>: Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname This is due to the spam settings on the mail server. I'm sending emails from a Lion Filemaker client with the plugin through my separate OSX Lion Server Mail Server (Mail relay is off) The good news is that the emails are going out fine and being received ok! The problem is the outgoing plugin messages don't get stored. Mail sent from the Apple Mail client set up with the same account details as the plug in are viewable in the mail outbox so it's not the Mail Server. We are doing a successful EmailConnectSMTP followed by multiple EmailSend's in a loop. I understand that "sharing" the connection for multiple "sends" is desirable for speed, but I am getting a "421 4.4.2 node-sl2050.smtp.com Error: timeout exceeded" back from my SMTP host (smtp.com) after a number of records (100 give or take). I really don't understand SMTP transactions and am wondering if I should expect to have to make multiple connections (maybe even one per message!) in order to send out batches of hundreds of e-mails. Is that just the way it sometimes works or should I be looking for a different issue causing the timeout?

Being run on OS X Lion Server The error returned is "Login failed." Where to start. We are now getting important client information e-mailed to us in the form of attachments. The attachments have the clients name and a reference number in the file name. ie Smith, John, 1234567.pdf What I would like is to forward the email message based on the attachment name, inducing the orignal attachment. Or what would be even better if I could download the attachments, put them in a clients folder then e-mail the staff member alerting them that a clients files have been updated. Right now I have a server script that runs every 15 minutes to get the mail. I can see the attachment names, but I am unsure how to work with the files…

I have a problem that just started a few days ago. When reading messages and importing them in to Filemaker it is also putting a copy in to the FileMaker application folder for some reason. Not sure what is causing this as no changes have been made to the system.

I'm a new 360Works Email plugin user and need guidance. I've built a $body of html code - a <table> etc wrapped in <html> tags. Looking at the email bounce in the 360Works Email plugin context I'm missing alot of text/data that is present in my Apple Mail or webmail version. I wonder why that is?... We use an inline graphic for the "header" and want the text to wrap to its width. It there some way to control the text wrap in an html email? Do I need to put the "body" of the email in a table?

Recently updgraded From OSX Snow Leopard, FM Server Advanced 10 to OSX Lion and FM Server Advanced 11 Same databases running under IWP. When user comes in and registers, it is suppose to send an automatic email confirmation. It is only working about 50% of the time. If it didn't work at all I would think I put the plugin in wrong... but it works sometimes. This is a weird one. The plugin seems to be omitting the message body for most, but not all messages. When i try and import 12,000+ messages (all as one chunk or 100 at a time) the Text and HTML fields are only populated for 14% of the records (1653). I can't find any rhyme or reason as to why it is only those 1653 records. If I delete the records and re-run the script it is still only the same 1653 records. The messages that do have a body are from mixed senders, to mixed recipients, using mixed clients. An email from person A to person be will be fine at 1:00PM but one from person A to person C at 1:01 is missing the body. The from, to, cc, subject, me…

Hi all, We just bought the 360works E-mail plugin, and we're having some trouble getting attachments to work properly. The script which is sending e-mails is supposed to pull attachments from a container field (Emails::attach1). And it does...sort of. The e-mail sends successfully, and contains an attachment. Except that the attachment is a .jpeg of what the container field LOOKS like, not a copy of the file it contains. I've tried this with .txt files, .zip files, .doc files, etc. Every time, I just get a picture of what the container field looks like. the server was fetching mail fine but we had hit a quota on the email server - we have since purged archive email and only using 12% of our quota. however now no new mail is being received. I tried to run it manually on the client but get the following error - On the server the script doesn't fail and no errors are generated just no new mail is fetched.

I'm running FMServer 11 Advanced on a Windows 2008R2 Virtual Server. I have the email plugin installed on the server side. When I run the schedule to retrieve email messages, it will not pull the email from imap.gmail.com. SSL is on. I can however, pull email using the same script from the client side. FMPro 11, FMPro 11Advanced, both windows 7 and macintosh snow leopard. I'm working with my IT representative who controls the server. I need to add two email accounts to the 360 Works Email system. Is this a problem?

I have a client sending out quarterly marketing emails with this plug-in. It was very simple to set up and program -- loving it! However, they are having a problem when they insert links in the emails they send out. The links aren't clickable. They ARE clickable on my OSX Mail when I receive them (and even in my gmail), but not on-site for them (with various email apps, and even in their Yahoo mail). Is there something I'm doing wrong? I mostly just copied the calc that the sample file uses for multi-part sending. The only part I didn't include was any email headers. Could there be a problem there?

Using the built-in Filemaker Send Mail function in conjunction with Outlook, users are able to edit emails before they are sent. This is useful to us since many of our emails are templates that the user needs to fill out with information. We're looking to gain HTML and multiple attachment functionality with this plugin. Are we able to maintain the same experience of being able to edit the email within Outlook before sending or do we have to do a "blind send" (i.e. just send the material through SMTP when the script completes with no ability to edit). I know I could setup an email editing space/field within FM, but I would prefer not to do that. Thanks.

Hello, Can anyone give me a clue what the EmailLastError message '[EOF]' means (end of file?), and how I might go about fixing it. I am getting it when the EmailSend function is run. All other functions work fine - connecting, creating, setting body, setting BCC etc (ie no EmailLastError message when I run the functions as seperate variables) but when I come to setting EmailSend, I get the EOF error message. I'm using the plugin with an imap emailaccount. Is it possible (just like in the Apple mail app) to go to the related reply of an email message. Does Apple wright it away with the reply id with the original message? If yes, is it possible to read out with the EmailReadMessageValue function?

The script that fetches mail loops thru records (exit at last ) and eventually gets the internal soft error of 101 - i have error capture turned on - but this error is still posted to the Server Log - any way to suppress this error?

This is a recent use of the Email plugin with FileMaker v10. A new MacBook Pro running 10.6 with all current OS and Java updates is inconsistently throwing this error: Could not create a message for [email protected] :IOExepction while sending message The error occurs regardless of the email address. A full reboot sometimes resolves the issue. However, an older PPC G5 iMac running the same script will work fine. Any suggestions? Thanks, Max

I would like to create several options when sending mail messages. Based on field values which I can alter, I would like to send attachments or use BCC addresses. I have created global variables for both options which I can set to Yes/No, but, when setting the variable within a script by chaining the email functions, how do I invoke these particular functions through the use of if statements. Installed plugin in proper folder of FMSA 10 (Mac OS 10.5.8). Opened Admin console, enabled plugins, and while the Email plugin shows, it says "Not Loaded." I've restarted the server. Since I can't register it with my Enterprise license until I run a script (my intention is to use this plugin for scheduled scripts) and it won't load into FMSA, I seem to be stuck. Hi there, I am fairly new to Filemaker and the Email Plugin, My question is when should I start the connection to the SMTP server. I have to send a two file attachment email to several clients one file is a pdf and the other a xml, I send this emails once a week, so should I call a script with the open connection and then start the emailing process for each client and then close it at the end of a loop or should I open and close the connection with each email sent? Currently evaluating email options from Filemaker and currently use your ftp plug in. My issue seems to be an inability to have it run smoothly and fast. It would appear that in a pop3 setting even if I mark an email for deletion it appears again and in the case of the demo I seem to have to wait a very long time for each email to view and then mark delete. Even in Imap the ones marked delete do not appear to be removed from the server and when i log in again they download again. (Apple - FM 11 Advanced) Thoughts?? Regards Anutha

Hi. I have used FM Pro for a number of years but have not used plugins before and do not know much about Java. I have downloaded and set up the 360Works email plugin and got it to work fine yesterday using the downloaded email client as a starting point. I was able to send and receive files. On opening the file today, I am receiving a "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space" error message. I have seen previous posts stating that I need to create a file '/Library/Application Support/360FmKit/memorysize' and I have tried to do this by creating a text file with the text 'java -Xms128m -Xmx128m' and placing this in the /Library/Application Support/360FmK folder. I'm new to the 360Works email plug-in and I'm trying to add the company logo to the email as a header. I've tried using the EmailAttachFileInline function which adds the logo at the end of the email and not at the header. Any ideas???

It has lots of features and runs without any problems, that's why I don't want to change anything about it. Hi, I am trying to configure the plug in to send emails through an Gmail powered account that has SMTP TLS encryption. When I try to send it I get the following error message: ..... i am not having any success accessing connecting to mail account with "ssl=1" as a parameter with any port designated. 25/ 465 / 587 I get an infinite beach ball then FMP stops responding... however the exact same settings connect and send fine thru OS X mail.

Hi: I'm evaluating this plugin for a CRM app. The solution will be hosted on a FMSA 11 server, clients FM 11 Windows based for now. A request has been made to see if we can have the CRM app connect to an exchange mailbox and pull copies of any emails on the account into the database itself. By design, I would probably have users create sub folder off the INBOX called CRM Import and have the system import emails in that folder alone, then run a matching script to associate the email with an account in their name on the system. is there a preferred method to download email and put attachments directly in to SuperContainer - and make sure the script can be executed server side too?

I've successfully added the plug in and I am able to send emails using the email 360 plug in. I have not been able to send an html email though. I read the documentation and apparently the only way to send an email with html is if that field is formatted in filemaker. This does not work for me since the body of my email comes from one field. The field is just a calculation field which is basically a string of text and fields to write a simple letter to my customers. I implemented the html in the calculation but when the email is sent all the tags are visible and it is not html. Is there any possible way to make this work?

Trying to get the Email plugin to work with a city government-supplied IMAP account, which I believe is run off an Exchange server. I can connect to the server with SSL off, using Outlook on the PC, and Apple Mail or Entourage 2008 on the Mac. When I try to connect with the plugin, using the same IMAP server/username/password, the plugin fails with a "Can't load NTLM authenticator" error message. Authentication in Apple Mail is set to plain Password, not MD5, Kerberos or NTLM; in Entourage, "Always use secure password" is turned off, though I haven't been able to find exactly what that means in terms of authentication. I have been successful in creating an HTML email from ScriptMaster that I can get to email with FileMaker Advanced Pro 11. I also have FileMaker Server 11 and I have set the script to run as a schedule. I have added the ScriptMaster plugin to the extensions folder in FileMaker Server and restarted the server (like I have read in the instructions in many other poses) and the scheduled script still does not send an email. I have the latest version of ScriptMaster and it is set to register the HTML email on startup. Can anyone offer any help or suggestions? Thanks, Jonathan

I am using the email plugin to send HTML email and it works great. I want to start using it to process emails. I want to read my inboxes unread emails (not to hard) and import the data into a field (not to hard) and then move that email to a "Processed" mail box. I can't see a way to do that last part. For right now I've settled for flagging the email to so I know I processed it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Paul
