We have been running FMS 7 and FMP 7 & 8 clients for awhile now. We are looking to move clients and servers to 8 but wanted to know if anyone has had any issues, especially with ODBC and/or file corruption.

Hello FMP Gurus, I have an odd issue that hopefully someone here has come across before... We have a server with a boot and data partition. The FMP database files reside on the Data partition. We also have a FW hard drive that is partitioned exactly like the server's hard drive, and receives clones nightly. Our database seems to be just keeping the changes we make in RAM but not flushing its RAM cache to disk like it should. Thus when the server is restarted, all changes since last restart are lost!! Bad news. The modification dates on the FMP DB files do not update. I see its possible to distribute the cache flush over a certain amount of time, and we ha…

I am totally stumped with an access privilege problem. FM Advanced Server is running Mac OSX 8.04 Two files were created with FMPro Advanced 8.03 The first is functioning fine. The second database I am hosting is giving me big problems. (I also converted this file) It has only one table. I have done something wrong with privileges. There are several users - including Admin with full access. As Admin, if I sit at the server with my file and use Filemaker 8 - I can create records, delete, etc However, if I go to the file through Filemaker then Open Remote - I can define the database, perform a find, sort etc but cannot create or delete records -- I get the Er…

Setting up a FM8 Advanced Server on a G5 running OSX Server (not an xServe). I've set up FM8 Server Admin on my local machine, everything runs as I would expect it to. I can open and close files etc. From this same machine, when I launch FM8 Advanced client I can only see some of the files on the remote server. I see the sample file, a test file and a couple of files that were converted over from FM6. There are two others that don't show up in the list. All files do show up in the FM Server Admin list of databases and all are running (i.e. Normal status). We've checked permissions and every file is set the same way. Today I added a file called Clients which…

I am running into a problem with Filemaker 8 server. The problem is that I have roughly about 115 databases being hosted on the server and when I have to close all the databases and reboot the server and rehost all the databases it takes a VERY long time for each database to open so that there hosted for my openers to work. Were running with a 3.6 Zeon with 1gb of ram. Anyone run into this issue?? Thanks!

Today with little to do at work, I created a Java application that monitors the WPE/WPC service and if they don't respond after certain amount of time, I would kill the service and restart it Does the WPE/WPC needs such a monitoring as I see on the board there are issues of freezing up with this service? I'm thinking of adding to monitor the FMS itself now. What does everyone think is a good thing to monitor ? I'm going to leave monitoring IIS as I think it's pretty rock solid webserver and plus there are tools out there that monitors IIS already. I want to make a specific set of monitoring tools to keep the FMS running 24/7. My ultimate goal is to have my tool …

Hi all, We have FMS 5.5 installed on an OS X machine, with about 15 clients (mostly running OS X, but a few running XP) which connect. The way we normally go in is to click open File -> Open Remote. While this is still working, there is suddenly a tremendous delay in the amount of time it takes to load up the file list. Whereas before it would load in 10 seconds or so, it now takes a minute or more. This just started today. We haven't had any other network issues, and I tried stopping FMS and restarting the machine. The load is also quite low - 0.10 or less. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this delay?

Hi During a conversion project from 5 to 8 I need to make a decision about File Referencing and different sources seem to have different opinions on the subject. We are hosting the entire system on the same server, now we do not want to specify a specific IP address as this will cause problems if we change the address or run the system off line. Now my main question; is it advisable to us an asterisk (*) in the Fmnet: protocol? i.e. "fmnet: /*/Filename" FileMaker server guide says yes, others say no. Or if the files are on the same server use the File: protocol? I hope this makes sense. Thanks for your help Orlando

I have an enduser *deep sigh*...who has apparently built a database in FileMaker 5. She is now trying to share this database, and the network users have no problems. However, any time she tries to open it locally on her machine, it gives her an error 10048, saying that it cannot host a file... I understand this is normally a problem with FileMaker server, but she's not running it on there. Any ideas, anyone? I appreciate any response.

I tried to log in from both the computer running the server and a remote machine on our LAN but the server is not accepting my password. How can I reset the password?

Hi all, First, let me apologize if I am reposting a previously answered question. I searched, both this site and others, and didnt' find anything that would answer my question. We are currently running FM Server 5.5 on Windows 2003 Server. We are gearing up for moving to Server 8. Assuming that the hardware is capable, is it possible to run 5.5 and 8 on the same server, both from an install/execution space standpoint, and from file serving and potential cross-pollination perspective. Thanks, Kelly

I've a FMP7 server on windows 2003, Use FMP 8v3 client (but also 7 client and its the same) When I am in my solution and quit fmp, it takes ages to quit (40s at least) with heavy network traffic (>900Kb/s). There's no script to do on quit, I'm wondering what's that amount of chat and if there's anything I can do about it

First off Sorry for the long post but I want to give detail. I am looking at creating a database that I can distribute to several locations that have 2-4 computers at some locations that will all be used at the same time, and 1 computer at each location. Where we have 2-4 I would like them to have access to the same data, but the 1 computer locations can be seperate. I can't do web based due to secruity issues. What do I need to have at each location? Do I need Server at the 2-4 computer locations? Can I use developer utilities to create a runtime solution for the stand alone stations?

I checked Network to assure that both computers are the same subnet and router IP. Using DHCP. File Sharing "On", Allow All Users "On". Don't display in open remote file dialog' is not checked. I can mount the hard drive of the Host with the Client. I can attach photo's from the Host to an email. When I try to "Open Remote" under "local host" I do not see the Host (Parent) computer. Hello all! I am fresh here and will be able to handle all the newbie sarcasm! Bring it on! I have just been hired on to a new company and first things first right? Update FM6 to FM7. I recommend 8.5 and get shot down. I install FM7 Server and FM7 Pro on to the server which is running OS X Server Tiger. I convert all the database's and have everything up and running great. I do a test on my computer and I can do everything that I was able to do in 6 just as easily in 7. Next step, intsall on 'others' computers. Everytime I go to open remote I need to go to 'Favorites' and 'Add' the host (which to me is not a problem, there are only about 20 people that ne…

Hi Guys, Has anyone attempted to convert an FX.php + FileMaker solution to a MySQL + PHP based solution? I would be very interested in finding out how easy it would be to port the fx.php pages to be compatible with MySQL. We use FileMaker and FxForge occasionally to do RAD and then hand over the prototype to another agency to be developed into MySQL. I've checked fmpromigrator which looks ideal for converting datafiles, but how easy is it to convert the php element? Many Thanks

In FM5/6 I found it crucial for my Windows clients accessing the server from another LAN, that I use the same static IP address on my own server as the one at the client. Saved me the headache of testing and relinking scripts, plus it was snappier if the script "remembered" the IP. Does the same hold true under FM8?

I am trying to run Filemaker server 5.5 on a PC running Windows Server 2000. I set the application to launch automatically (it doesn’t) and I get the message: “Snap-in failed to initialize Name: Filemaker Server CLSID: {8B1BF5E3-4F4D-11D2-84A9-006008B01131}” on launching Filemaker Server Console for Windows 2000 (FMSCONSL.msc). If it matters, I did install Server on my D: drive due to lack of space on my C: drive. I will be updating to a ver 7 solution ASAP, BTW. Any ideas out there?

We are using FileMaker Server 7 and have remote users connecting to the server from a mix of Mac/Win FM client apps. Because we have set the Server to only show databases allowed for the user, the user is prompted to enter an account name & password once when they click on the host in the Open Remote window and again after they click "Open". I realize this double-password entry is because we set the server to only show dbs allowed for the user, and I also realize there's nothing that can be done about having two screens appear. On the Mac, we can click "Add to Keychain" so that the user doesn't have to enter the password ever-- the windows appear with the a…

I'm using Filemaker Server Advanced 7.0v3 on Mac OSX 10.3.9 (and 10.4) I'm using a xsl-stylesheet with a function of the form "document(filemaker-query-url)". If I try to query the whole database (about 20 MB) I get a nullstring back. If I query only a part of my database everything works fine. If I put the not working filemaker-query-url direct in my browser it is working too. In pe_application_log.txt I get errors like "Can not load requested doc". In web_server_module_log.txt I get different jk_ajp_common errors. I changed a few parameters in tomcat server.xml without any success. Does anybody know what to do? Best regards Gisbert Breitbach

Hi everyone, My boss and I have been discussing the future of our FileMaker databases, and whether it would be worthwhile to upgrade. First, a little background. We are running FileMaker Server 5.5 on a machine running OS X 10.2.8. It interfaces with our web server, which is running WebSTAR on a 10.2.8 machine, via Lasso Pro 5. This, as I am sure you know, involves using a "web companion" machine running FileMaker Pro 5.5. This is on a machine running Windows XP. While this does work, the technology is very out of date, and the web companion is prone to problems, with FMP hanging up on a semi-regular basis. Plus, the hardware these machines are on is all o…

I help a non-technical nonprofit with using FM (since FM 2) but at a distance. I just received this appeal for help: "There is a intermittent problem with the front e-mac and the server e-mac. Hi, we're creating a FileMaker DB (FM8A) hosted on a FM8Server over a MacOs X Server 10.3, which will accept connections from Windows and MacOsX clients over an extranet link. As in this solution we have to manage images, too, we are trying to avoid the "embedding" and trying to procede as follow: 1 - Accept embedding by a client. 2 - Control existence of the uploaded image on server disk. 3 - Export to the server disk in a predefined directory. 4 - Re-Import the image "by reference". It's all going well locally, but when in remote we can't understand to which directory on server images will be writed to, and, therefore, neither from which director…

I just upgraded my mac 10.4 tiger to 10.4 Server. I used to host FMS 5.5 on the old OS and everything ran great. When I install FMS 5.5 on the new OS, it just keeps trying to start and never does. I also tried just installing FMP 5 and opening the db as a shared file and I can access it with web publishing on the network but can not connect remotely from a client machine running FMP? Something is really screwy with our server. First I was having trouble accessing the server with a password that I am 100% certain was correct. Next I installed the FMS8 demo and everything worked great for thirty days. Then I "uninstalled" FMS8 demo and "reinstalled" FMS7. It worked great until I entered a password for the admin utility...then...the password would not work...again! So I removed FMS7 and reinstalled it a third time. This time I left remote admin off and did not enter any password. Have searched the archives for this topic, but came up relatively empty, so... I've recently been forced to move our FMS 5.5 from OS X to Win 2003 Std Server. The IS Ops guys "strongly insist" that all servers in the organization get a reboot via automated task on Sunday mornings around 1:00 AM. I have created two automated tasks which stops FMS (FMSERVER STOP) a half hour before the reboot, & starts it again (FMSERVER START) a half hour after the reboot. I'm not really a Windows guy, so the question is: Is this the appropriate way to handle having to deal with the reboot requirement? Or should I add a task that closes the files before the stop? Or, sho…

Yes I'm new. I have just installed FM8.v3. Background: I have two backups. One: I stop the FM services and then backup to CD the FM database. Then I run Veritas Backup Exec to backup the entire HD to tape with the exception of the FM database. What I want to do is to make this easier. First backup FM database incrementally(I guess I could overwrite it completely everyday)using the administrative function on FM server. Then backup the rest of the HD using Backup Exec. There must be a way to script this function, such that would turn off the FM services, then backup the FM database, then start Backup Exec to do the hard drive to tape. It would be nice if t…

I am relatively new to Filemaker and so the solution to my problem maybe very simple. Also, because I am new to this, I am providing as much information as I can. We are running Filemaker 7 with Computer One hosting the database. We are NOT using the special server version of FM 7. On Computer A, a new computer account was created in XP called VPNUSER. Laptop A connects to the VPN using that special user. A VPN connection to this computer from the outside world is successful using Laptop A. Laptop A ca…

I have been having a problem lately and I thought I should ask about it. When I have had to stop my FM server ( running on Mac OS X) to pull files down it often will tell me that it is shutting down, but can take hours before it actually shuts down. I do not have hours to wait, so in the past, I have had to resort to less than friendly means for shutting down the system. I worry as the last time this happened it causes major corruption in one of my databases. Is this a known bug? Is there are work around? Also, when I try to close just one file via the Administration databases it also sits there for hours saying that it is closing. Then I have to shut the…

Has anyone heard/used the online version of an application called CAQH? It's a general medical application that many different health plans use to submit doctors' info to/from. The paper application alone is 43 pages, and I've been able to 'map' the questions using a large FM database. Now I'm moving to the online version of this. They use XML as the core technology, which I have a fair understanding of. With such a huge project ahead of me, I wanted to see if anyone else has used this and has had any success with it. I might be able to shed some time if anyone else has experience with this, and can spare a moment or two. Thanks!

Has anyone encountered a problem with the "FileMaker Publishing Engine (CWPE & CONFIG)" service refusing to remain running? This is an FM8 Advanced installation. The service generates this event log error and quickly terminates within a few seconds of starting up. The Java Virtual Machine has exited with a code of 1, the service is being stopped. I'm unable to edit the configuration of the web engine via the web interface but the rest of the web engine is running fine with all IWP enabled databases showing up and serving out correctly by the server. Is there any sort of a java log kept by FM that would help diagnose this issue? Thanks

I am looking for information on an error that I am unable to solve. We have a set-up with seven servers on Windows NT 4, Filemaker Server 5.5. Client has Filemaker Pro 6. In one of our databases (a VERY simple form database for filling out details for our shipping departments), we have one single user who keeps having problems with Filemaker crashing. I have looked at the database time and time again. I have looked at the errors in the server log, but nothing surfaces. I have checked that the data entry, which sometimes is done via longish pop-up lists, is the culprit, but it is not. I have had the machine checked of this user, but to no avail. I also had all sw…

Howdy y'all: I'm trying to build a contact database in FM7 using the provided template that I have customized. For example, Joe's Donuts has a logo, a brochure, and a business card all produced by us and I'd like to have a link(s) or button(s) that the users can add to the contact that 'points' to those specific files or even just Joe's Donuts' folder on the server, or just shows the file(s) in a finder window. Any ideas and or help is greatly appreciated. All the client machines are ru…

I am deploying a system that comprises 95 files on the server. So far everything was just running fine on many customers I have. This week I am deploying on new machines (client) running xp sp2 and when I try to open very simple files it takes too long. The odd thing is that when I change the subnet mask from 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.0.0 I get normal opening speed, but this is causing slowdown on mapped drives and other things. Can anyone help me please.

HIya guys - I'm new to the forum - been using FM since version 2 and find myself stuck with a problem: I have given one of my users the level of access just below full access, but they claim they cannot edit scripts on the live system. They can open Scriptmaker but not open the scripts. I have granted them unrestricted access to edit scripts under the access privileges. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Not sure if anyone has encountered this scenario before but someone may have an idea as to a solution: - we have a number of FMS hosted FMv6 files that get updated every night by an ODBC import from a set of Paradox table from an external app - works fine unless FMS starts a cache flush and tries to pause a file that is in the middle of an ODBC import - if this happens the FMS seizes up with an application error stating that it could not pause the file due to an outstanding database lock - only way out is to reboot the FMS Our FMS is presently set to flush cache every 40 minutes. It makes sense that it might encounter the above scenario from time to time. S…

Hi, This may not be new to some but I found an issue with VPN Adapters & FMS 5.5. I had to install a SonicWall VPN Adapter for a client so I could log into their Term Serv. When the adapter was enabled I could not see the FM Hosted files in the Host dialog box but when the adapter was disabled everything was fine. I was having the same issue with a very big client. But I logged in to their Term Serv and found that they had a Hamachi vpn adapter running and once it was diabled again everything was fine!!! I don't know about you but I am sooooo glad that this worked. However, does anyone know if there are settings within these adapters that will not block …

Hi, we have a client running FMS 5.5, hosting 125 multi-user files. There has never been a problem hosting these files. The files are opened using an "OPENER" file scripted to properly open the files through the Host dialog box. When the files open to the host dialog box, all the files just show up in the window. They have never had to "specify host". However recently they had to reboot the server where FMS is installed and now none of the files are showing in the Host dialog box. I had them "specify host" and enter the server address and check the box to permanently add the address. And now they must always “specify host”. My question is why aren’t the files s…

We've got Server Advanced 7.3 running on an X-Serve for several months now; which we use to serve to clients, and then pull to a secondary web server using XML/XSLT and the FX.php plugin. Within the last couple of weeks (the minute I took off for a week's vacation, natch), we've lost our Web Publishing engine for what appears to be no good reason. Clients still have perfect connectivity, no problems; but the XML/XSLT publishing goes poof on the server--this means that automated imports and updates using XML to the server don't run, etc. I've tried re-starting server admin, no luck. I go to the FM SA Web Publishing admin console (http://fmserveripaddress:16…

I work for a small company that has been using Filemaker with no serious issues for a while now. We have a Windows 2000 server running Filemaker 5.0 Server. Up until recently, all the client machines were running Windows 2000 and Filemaker 5.0. We recently purchased a new client machine running Windows XP. With Filemaker 5.0 or 5.5, the machine seems to have many problems opening or working with the Filemaker databases. Either the database will not open and Filemaker will crash, or the database will open, but Filemaker will crash after working with it for a while. The problems are very inconsistent. One time a certain database will open, other times the sam…

Hi all, I have a wait list database for my school guidance department and was wondering if anyone would be able to answer a sharing question. When counsellors add a student to the course wait list, a button opens up a seperate database listing all the courses running that year. From here they search for the course by grade and then click their desired result from a list. Doing so coppies one field from the course database, pastes it into my other other database and repeats this 5 times (5 fields to copy and paste between files). When I dstribute the file to other schools, FileMaker breaks the links between the files (as expected). I have the users link the f…

We run server 5.0+ with 50 users throughout our plant. It has been very solid and reliable. Occassionaly (a few times a year) due to network traffic or someone has plugged into the network with a incompatable IP address, the FM applications loose the server's db list broadcast. All of our users have the specific server's IP address in their host listing, but the only way I can require the menu broadcast is to re-boot the server (and then all is well). This of course is not a practical thing to do in a 24/6 operation. Is there another way to refresh the server (W2K)(or from the server software) that the menu broadcast can be re-established? Thanks

I share a central db with FM Server 5.5. There are users who cannot access this server once they are located outside our company network. Therefore, I have forseen a local clone of the central db, which is a personal tool for each user. Once they are located off the company network, they open their clone so they can log new records. When they return to the company, they do an UPLOAD of these new records towards the central db. My question: How do I make a secure UPLOAD script? Now I do this: the user opens his local copy, and executes this UPLOAD script from there. What is it: it is an external script from the central db that executes an import of the record…

Hello all, I am running FM 5.5 Unlimited on a Windows 2000 PC. On the client side they are using 5.5 pro with windows XP. I have created FM shortcuts to different databases that are on the server, via a script. When they launch the shortcut it can take up to 5mins or longer to open up the database. I found a tech note way back when that said to delete my temp files and that worked but it is only a temp solution. Anyone have this issue or a solution? Thanks, Jaser

Background: We have FileMaker Web Publishing (WPC & CWPE/CONFIG) installed on MS Server 2003. We purchased it about 2 weeks ago, so I assume we have the latest & greatest. I have one problem & one quirk. The problem comes with some Drop Down Lists. We use a series of 5 Drop Downs, with each Drop Down attached to a Relationship. (Year, Make, Model, Series, Body Style). Works good in the normal Client/Server setup. In the Web version, each time we make a Selection on one of the Drop Downs, the Web Page makes us hit a Submit Button. I have checked the Layout, and it saves the data directly (as one would expect, since it works with the FM Clie…

Hey all, I'm trying to update my 8.02 FMP server to 8.03. I did stop the server through the admin, doublechecked my services to make sure nothing was still running, and ran the updater. 45 minutes later, it was still beachballing on me without having actually installed a thing. I forced it to quit, restarted the machine and tried again. That was 3 hours ago. Still beachballed. This is on a G4 800 mhz machine with two hard drives (though it seems to be searching the correct one) and 1G of SDRAM, both hard drives are 40 gigs and nearly empty. I can't find any manual updating files or information and I have no idea what to do since I now have 4 FMP8.0…

We have just upgraded from FMServer 7 to FMServer 8. All the files will open except for the two biggest files. In the Admin screen, when I right click on the file and select 'open', the status turns quickly to 'checking' and then back to 'Closed'. I am able to open the file locally with FMPro Developer no problem, it is just that they won't 'open' under FMServer 8v3. If anyone has experienced this, please help.

I have been debating scraping 13 yrs worth of FM use b/c of the limitations of Filemaker. Is it true that even using CWP (fx.php for example) that server advanced will still only allow 100 simultaneous users? Can someone explain exactly what that means? Is it what it sounds like..that 100 users can access your server advanced hosted web site at once? If so that seems extremely limited! If so, I wonder why anyone would still be using Filemaker as a backend to deploy web based systems? If you have to use middleware such as php anyway, why not then just use mysql instead as the backed? Thanks in advance for any feedback. It is a very important issue that I am face …

I am totally new at this administration stuff although not completely inept. Evidently I downloaded the FM8Server software to my computer from the CD as I was downloading the Administrator module/software. I don't know how I did this. Can I just un-install that module from my Filemaker Server Folder? If I do, will it somehow degrade the Administrator software? I thought I carefully followed directions in the Administrator Guide to download just the Administrator module. I can't figure out what I did wrong. Has anyone else done something like this? How did you correct it? In advance, my Thanks to All.

Hello all: I've been asked by a client to explore encryption possibilities for a FileMaker 5/6 system, running FileMaker Server 5. The only thing I've found is Troi's old Coding plug-in. While it does indeed encrypt and decrypt fields, it's going to be a bit clunky to use on an existing 3000 field database. Does anyone know of any other options out there? Due to OS limitations, the client is stuck for the forseeable future with FMP 5/6. Thanks, Stanley

Hi everyone, I need a file which will reside only on one computer - the Owner's (to be opened only by him). He will be able to add fields (ONLY to this file). It needs a File Reference to our main solution which resides on FM Server. He needs to be able to view our Contacts (graph in file will be related Owner::ContactID = Contacts::ContactID). When he leaves for the day, this file will go with him (or a zipped copy of it). From home, he wants to open it again (referencing a copy of the main file named the same). We realize the main file data will not be up-to-date (when used at home). But he won't be allowed to change anything (in main file) from this ext…

to say the least I am far from a computer expert, however I managed to get put in charge of creating our filemaker database. I'm having some issues with search lag so the people at filemaker suggested that instead of implanting the whole photo file into the container field (which had to be done so the image could be seen by all on our server) to set up a folder on the server so the image would only have to be refrenced from that folder. The sad part about this is now people are not able to export the image from the container field. Is there a script I can substitute the original export script with that can export the image via the file path, or is there an easier craf…

Have recently installed FM Server 8 Advanced, with the Web Publishing engine on the same machine, a G5 running OS X 10.4.6. The web server works, and I can execute an XML query like this: http://localhost/fmi/xml/fmresultset.xml?-db=approves&-lay=DigitalAdvertisers&-findany This returns one record, which I expected, but it is not formatted in any way, which I also expected. I understand that I have to route the results through an XSLT stylesheet to get pretty formatting of the results, so I modified my query like this: http://localhost/fmi/xsl/adresults.xsl?-grammar=fmresultset&-db=approves&-lay=DigitalAdvertisers&-findany This…

Hi, Running FM Server 8.2 and Pro8.2 clients on OSX-Tiger. All my users get the message that their network connection has timed-out and that all files will be closed after about 30 minutes of not using FM. I disabled the "disconnect on timeout" feature in the FM Server configuration but this does not help much (it was set to 4 hours prior to turning it completely off). I've already checked the privelege sets in all my files but the function to disconnect on idle is not enabled anywhere. Does anyone know where I should look?

Here's the Scenario I'm looking at: I'm building a POS Tracking/Analysis Database (7million rows and growing quickly in the main table). Using FMP8 to prototype the solution, and I have some very long running tasks (a weekly import normally runs 8+ hours). Some of the aggregations needed take similarly long. The solution I'm thinking of is running server and client in my usual Administration account, and then running a second client either in a second account, or inside VMWare. Has anyone had any experience with this? It would be ideal for these long running tasks to execute in the seperate account/VM. As for the machine it should be ok. It's a AthlonXP 64 …

I do know a decent amount about computers but most of my experience is on Macs. We've used FM6 on PC's at work to create patient databases and various procedure forms. Since we now have to be able to share files, we bought FM8 individual seats and the server app (we did not have a server edition before). The install documentation is pathetic. We had to pay $20 for a manual after spending about $3000 for software and it still doesn't make total sense. The programs are installed on our server (Windows 2003 Server) and on our individual computers (XP). My main question now is -- if I create a new file do I have to send it to the server and then actually go to the s…

Hi, I'm trying to get FM Server 5.5 to run on Debian 3.1 (the latest). At work I have it working on RedHat and Fedora and I got it installed on Debian (using alien to convert the rpm to a deb package) but then I don't succeed in getting it registered or even started. The error message is known to me as it's the same that you get when trying to run it as-is on RedHat > 7.2: fmserverd: relocation error: fmserverd: symbol __on_exit, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference The thing is that I don't know how to solve this issue on Debian ... anyone got a clue how to do that? Thanks, Bernd
